They have an atm outside near the American Eagle store but they were closing and trying to get out to celebrate their Fourth of July holiday. So, please BRING CASH. I got my nails done with a petite girl whose name I never caught. She was extremely quick and efficient. She did an excellent job with my $34 ANC nail dip manicure. She shaped it exactly how I wanted it with little direction and I didn't get that sticky-around the nail feeling that you sometimes get when your skin gets attached to the dip or gel. I love my manicure and would recommend coming here. They're located inside the mall toward the Macy's corner. They accept walk-ins and they do waxes as well. They have a lot of nail techs who work simultaneously so they can accommodate large groups of people. They have a ton of colors to choose from. My cuticles are very clean looking. read more

Very disappointed after seeing such positive reviews. My mom had regular polish on and they insisted it was gel and up charged her for the removal. In addition they cut her cuticles 4 times until they bled and never said anything. I had the regular pedicure which again they changed the price. Would be concerned about the lack of sanitizing of tools between customers. read more

Had a girls day with my little cousin so we decided to get our nails done! It was a Saturday morning and everywhere was packed, but Cool Nails was accepting walk ins and they got us right in without any issues which I very much appreciated. We got gel pedicures, she had a full set and I got ombre gel dip. It came out to be about $240 with tip. They did an amazing job and I'm so happy how my nails turned out! My 11 year old granddaughter asked me to take her to get her nails done after a very traumatic experience she experienced recently and of course, I said yes, let's both get our nails done. It's been forever and my last experience in my local area was a nightmare. Since I was unfamiliar with the Utica area establishments, I looked online, I went back and forth a couple of times, tried Genesee Nails, because it claims established for ten years, but when answering the phone, doesn't announce the Business name, I had to ask if it was the nail salon! So, I tried TQ nails, the number was out of service! Cool Nails answered properly with the business name, I made an afternoon appointment for the next day, we arrived a few minutes early, got right in, and I got the best mani-pedi I ever had! My girl didn't give me her name, and didn't speak much English, but had help understanding me from a beautiful young, pleasant girl, assumedly her daughter, and she didn't hurt me, took her time to make sure my nails wouldn't smear and were dry, made my hands look better than they have in a LONG time! And my granddaughter got a beautiful set of acrylics with a Hello Kitty theme from an elderly technician, who was perfecting, exact, and obviously conscientious about her personal work! I drove over an hour from my home and have decided I will go no where else for nails ever again and the drive is absolutely worth it! Quality for cost was excellent- 75 for pink us gel extension gel set with quick design - 40 gel pedi - I can't wait for my fill will def be scheduling not on a Friday morning ..... the spa and salon is bright and fun ... Did I get the wrong tech? I came in with poly gel nails and clearly said so at the beginning. I wanted the poly gel removed and then a regular mani/pedi. Pedicure was so-so as it was perfunctory and their application of my nail polish was spotty. Unfortunately I didn't notice until I left. After the pedicure, it appears they forgot I wanted a manicure and didn't communicate that I had poly gel on my nails. Me, thinking it was similar to the salon where they were applied- would file and soak without majorly damaging my nail. Ugh, nope. They proceeded to pull off the poly gel. Me - in shock- sat there like an idiot while they insisted it was the only way to remove it. I refused polish because now my nails need to heal. I should state the shaping of my natural nail was horrendous because there is no top layer of my nail left. Needless to say this was a one and done for me. Two stars only because my friend's nails came out ok- with a lot of fixing before she left the salon. Overall not impressed because the basics were not well executed. However beware if you have poly nails on before you go. The atmosphere isn't really relaxing, but then again this isn't a day spa, so take that for what you will. Others may like this salon but there are so many other choices, I'd find some place where there is consistency between techs and a bit more relaxing. Edit to add- I really wish I zoomed in on some of the pics that were posted by other reviewers. One pedicure was extremely sloppy. Just awful. FYI- the next day I had to flip my nails even more because they are so weak due to the multiple layers pulled off the top. Just awful. read more

i went to get a regular acrylic fill and my nails cut back and I'm extremely happy with the way they came out! I didn't catch the guys name but he was younger and had a tattoo. He did an amazing job and was extremely sociable and was really nice to me. He got the job done quick but still did an amazing job while holding a conversation with me.
