This was my first time visiting and I am so upset with my experience. I was already skeptical about going here because the nails of other reviewers don't look that great, but they're five minutes from where I live (my regular nail salon is about twenty minutes) and they have a lot of great reviews so I decided to give them a try. I went to this place for lashes, nails, a pedicure, and multiple facial wax services. For starters, everyone was very nice and there was no wait when I arrived. While I was able to get through the pedicure and wax services, both services were rushed with absolutely no attention to detail. I should mention that it was not busy at all when I arrived. The lashes were terrible. I've gotten my lashes done at many salons for many years so I'm confident when I say the lash tech at this salon has no idea what she's doing. She literally glued the lashes to my eyelid. They also have very limited lash options which I've never experienced at a nail salon. You can either get very thick and long or very wispy and short. And the lash tech doesn't explain that. When I saw that the lashes she put on were way too long and pressing against my eyelids, I asked her to take them off. The tech didn't seem to understand me or maybe she was afraid of how the manager would react to my request, so she got the person who I assume is the manager. I explained to the manager that I didn't like the lashes and wanted to take them off. The manager insisted that I pick one of the two lash options because, even if they removed them, I would still be charged full price for the lashes. I should've left at that point. Next were the nails. I explicitly asked for a square shape, but the nail tech (the same one who ruined my lashes) immediately pulled out almond shape. I told her I wanted square and she stated that she was going to cut the almond nails into a square. That didn't make any sense because the almond nails were already very short so she would've had to cut them down to the nail bed in order to make a square shape. I had to tell her to stop once I saw she didn't even know how to pick out the right nail sizes. To make a bad experience even worse, my total came out to almost $150, which based on the services I actually got, didn't match the prices listed on their website. I'm sure the manager will try to explain how they got that figure to make it look valid. I had to go to another salon in the area immediately after just to fix all of their mistakes and get my nails done the way I wanted. The nail tech at the other salon was shocked when I told her I just got a pedicure about an hour before. She said my pedicure looked three days old! And it took almost an hour to get most of the glue off of my eyelids. This salon does not listen to instructions, and the prices they charge in their salon are not the same as the prices listed on their website. Avoid this place or just be very aware if you take the risk to visit. read more

My toe nails weren't even dry and she was already trying to get me to get up and pay. And when I asked the lady why the services only last 15mins she lied and said it was longer when it wasn't. The front receptionist wasn't helpful either said couldn't do anything because the owner was in. Called the owner and no answer. Mind you she said she started at 3pm. Time stamp says 3:22. And I sat at 3 but she ran the water while I was using the restroom and when I went to change the color so when I sat down it was cold. So a lot of the time was her scooping out the water with a tiny bowl to empty it and refill it with hot water. read more

I got a spa pedicure and dip nails. My toe was cut in the first 5 minutes when he was trimming my cuticles and it's now infected. Shenanigans. Rough on my nails. Created a bogus acrylic toenail repair with a tip that lifts off the nail bed and looks ridiculous. Caught an attitude when I kindly requested to fix it. Accidentally started an acrylic nail set on me I did not want, then offered the full set for free to remedy. If you don't know what you're doing, then get someone who does. I have been going to Cool Nails for a few years now, specifically to Anna, my preferred nail tech. Worth mentioning though is that on the rare occasion Anna can't see me (usually my fault for not properly pre-planning) literally everyone else I have gotten has been perfectly capable and attentive. What I like about Cool Nails is they pay attention to the growth of my nails. (No chance of anything getting ingrown, they know thier stuff) Also, they do good preperation so pedicures last just about forever. Only possible downside - I really wish the massage was a bit longer but doesn't everybody always wish that? Nice things about Cool Nails: It's clean They tend to run pretty much on time They carry all the OPI fresh colors and most of the old ones too Prices are good The massage chairs are pretty good Tip - if you don't see your color ask the nail tech, they might have it in the back. It's always tough to try a new place. There's 'how they do things', and little differences between nail techs that can make a difference. The guy at the reception was certainly 'brusque'. He seems gentlemanly enough, if oddly out of place in a nail salon. I picked my gel color out and was soon seen. Once we got past the mask/language barrier, we were off. Two bleeding cuticles (because apparently I have thin skin), seven nails one shape, three random shapes, and the wrong color later, I'm generally less than impressed. I said so too, and apparently the solution to this is too just paint another color over the top. Meh... Toe color polish was fine from other lady. This was a recommendation from a friend who swears by them, I suggest you give it a try and see what you think. Every day, and every tech is different. They were also crazy busy, my tech being constantly interrupted by the reception guy trying to figure out how the book works. That being said, I'll keep looking. read more

This is when I came across Cool Nails and decided they would be the back-up spot to go! Walking into the Nail Salon I was Greeted and asked what services I wanted. They had a pretty packed house but I was immediately taken to a Spa Pedicure Chair and shown the large assortment of Shellac Options! The Overall Appearance is very Bright and Clean! They use Disposable Spa Pedicure Covers for the Tubs and New/Sanitized Nail Tools! All of the employees are very friendly! My Nail Tech was nice taking her time doing my nails but lacked the Attention to Detail that my previous place had done. Leaving me with uncut Cuticles and not as sharp looking Nails. Then only after 9 Days my Shellac Nails were already starting to Peel Up and Chip. This was unexpected as my last Salon, the same Shellac lasted over a month without lifting from my nails. I should have known she wasn't doing a good job and/or didn't know what she was doing when everyone kept coming into the room standing over me and watching her attempt to practice on me is what I'll call it (speaking in their language of course making me very uncomfortable). Not sure of her name but she did such a poor service that as soon as I looked in the mirror, I said "you're done?" and when she said "yes", I expressed that I didn't like them and asked to remove them myself immediately. They looked awful. I could have cried. She said I'd have to speak with the manager and hurried out of the room. The manager Ti who sits at the front stormed to the back room and told me I couldn't even remove them myself without still paying for the time it took (What about the time I wasted out of my day? What about the damage this is going to do to my natural lashes?) and then demanded that she remove them off my eyes herself with tweezers. NO WAY you're touching my face with that attitude! Can you believe I had to make them call the cops? Horrible, terrible and dreadful experience. He was in a rush to clock out and get home, he did my dip in 25 minutes which is nearly impossible if you know anything about a proper dip process. He was super rough with my hands, he cut my cuticle multiple times, and he slapped dip powder on leaving it lumpy and uneven. He never spoke a word to me, except to roll his eyes a few times. Lastly, he didn't leave my nails to set long enough and surprise, surprise. They were still wet and sticky after he slammed his supplies back in his drawer and ran out the door. Let me preface by saying that the tech was super nice and it was a very clean environment but I hate my nails. They're not shaped and one nail is especially thin. when I showed him that it was thin and uneven and that it needed more acrylic, he just filed it and started to polish. As I was on a time crunch and saw that he didn't understand I didn't bother asking again. Also when he asked me what color I wanted I showed him a picture of a design I wanted and he just told me he couldn't do it instead of referring me to someone who could. Anyways, i get my tips on for my new set, and my pinky is crooked, no big deal i let the guy know, but then he argues with me that its my nail bed thats crooked. ??? Like i said I get my nails done every two weeks, and its never looked like this! After about a minute of going back and forth with him he finally agrees to remove it and try again. This time he puts it on correctly and suddenly i dont have crooked nail beds anymore? Lol I was here for 2 hours and 10 minutes. For a removal and a basic full set. No designs. Just black color. I think this is being generous. I just left there and my nails and toes look like CRAP. I got Russian Navy gels and the same color on my toes. To say that the lady who did them was sloppy, is a large understatement. I just left with blue all over my toes and my fingers, except where the nail polish should be. When I pointed out to her that my pinky finger and my second finger were missing polish, she literally said, "okay." She did nothing to fix it! And it was clear she could not understand me, or possibly English at all. Good luck finding a good place to go to get your nails done in Fort Lauderdale. It simply does not exist. While the salon is clean, and very nice on the inside, they clearly do not care about their customers or the customer experience.
