I recently visited the Wilton Manors location and received an extraordinary, rejuvenating massage from Ugo. In a very stressful world, he offered me an hour of true peace. As a Transgender woman, I often move through public spaces with a sense of guardedness. However, Ugo's presence was a beacon of safety and respect. He was attentive and kind, reminding me that authentic human warmth still exists. While most of the staff were lovely, I did feel a very uncomfortable and rude energy from one staff member (I think he is a Brazilian guy and his name is Julio). He was very disrespectful to me. It was a stark contrast to the rest of my experience. As someone who has dedicated my life and my work (including my memoir Beyond Face Value and my activism for the Black, Brown, and LGBTQ+ communities) to leaving the world better than I found it, these moments of respect mean everything. Women and men both know that in the heat of South Florida; getting waxed is a necessity. The waxing process is nearly painless because it's really a sugaring treatment especially developed in Brazil. As you walk through the front door, you can feel the professionalism of the spa when you're greeted by a very friendly receptionist. Don't expect to wait long and do your work because my esthetician Chrissy was very much on time. Chrissy was so pleasant and cheerful, and made the whole process of waxing not uncomfortable. This was not my first experience with Natura. I have always been pleased with Natura. Every esthetician that has worked on me has always asked if the wax is too hot or if I'm uncomfortable, because they are so concerned about your comfort. In addition, the estheticians are perfectionists. They will take the time to tweeze every hair to make sure that it looks just perfect when you leave. I did not get any of their facial services when I went, but I have had a facial with them before and it was one of the best experiences I've had. It was almost like having a massage. The aromatherapy and the different creams they use on your face was just like heaven. The prices at Natura are very competitive. The most economical way to purchase your waxing or facial treatments is to join their clubs or purchase a certain number of treatments in advance. You know that you're going to need them, so why not? They offer many different kinds of waxing, so give them a try even for an eyebrow wax. You will be very happy that you did.

Also, this would be the first time having my chest and abdominal area waxed, so we started with the back. The back went smooth and easy. This wax method was much easier and less painful than the other method using a cloth to pull the wax. Second visit I get a little confident by the stylist Michael Leigh so not only do I get highlights but I had him give me a new do. Well the response was crazy and the compliments were flowing. In fact a week after getting my last hair appointment I was out of town and need a blow out for a wedding I was attending. The stylist there complimented my cut and highlights. So the cherry on top of compliments came from my husband. He saw all the hoopla so he made an appointment to come to Michael Leigh for a haircut. Well he's already been back for a second appointment.
