Each person that has come to our home has been pleasant and appears technically sound. In January of this year one of our units, of almost 20years, went toes up and needed replacing. The install went well and we had heat upstairs again. They even cleaned up the debris and attic floor. Fast forward to this week. My 10 mo old grandson and daughter were visiting and the upstairs thermostat where they stay went dead as a doornail as they were heading up for the night (8 pm-ish). After calling the thermostat company I called CF and spoke to a dispatcher, within 30 minutes a tech, Bobby, called and gave me some troubleshooting tips. I had already checked all the breakers. I decided not to lug the vacuum cleaner upstairs to the attic nor down into the crawlspace to unclog the drain pipes and potentially get it back online. Bobby offered to put in a service call for the next day, it would have been after 11 pm before he could have gotten here. The kids spent the night on the couch on the lower level where it was cooler. The next day I had a service call set up. As luck would have it, Bobby was my technician so he already knew what was going on. This was the first time the unit had really been put through the paces for cooling as outside temperatures rose. Bobby C. kept me informed throughout the process, indicated it was a warranty service call, so no charge! He educated me on the problem, his planned resolution and what to do should it occur again. After wasting my time for…read more2-3 weeks without air mind you and hosing me for $200 and still not fixing the underlying problem. I had to have E&J come out to take a look and look closely they did. Many companies send out workers who tend to try and fix the problem or find a problem and off they go to the next job in like 15-20 mins. Not E&J, they spent an hour looking for this localized problem the other air company couldn't find. Well, a day or so later, the part came in and was fixed. If your air blows cold for like an hour and then it loses it's coldness and you don't have a leak and your pressure is normal. Then it's most likely the fan motor which was my case. E&J waited till that fan motor started quitting because they took the time to watch the Hvac where the other company didn't want to spend the time!

I had originally found E&J on Angie's List and requested a quote online. The next day I received an email estimate for my request at the time, to replace the very old air handler as the condenser was just three years old. The next day I got a follow-up email asking if I had received my quote. I emailed back that yes, I received it, and I would get back to them as I was getting a few other estimates for comparison. Weeks later I requested an estimate from E&J for the condensor as well as the air handler. I had called other companies and was I impressed with Eric's estimate as it was competitive and fair, also lower than other well known companies in my area. Eric was very nice about me asking for proof of license and insurance and emailed the documents to me the same day. He was also willing to rewrite the estimate twice as I wanted to be sure it was detailed and nothing was left out. He came over and measured to be sure we were replacing with the correct size unit, and Jennifer called me soon after about financing. She was able to get me set up with the financing company the next day, which is a fairly low interest rate at 6.4 and they have options for 5 yr, 7 yr, 10 yr payment plans with no early payoff penalties. Eric was ble to put me on his schedule for the following Wednesday, just five days after signing with the finance company. Also, the finance company does not pay the contractor until I sign off that the work was completed to my satisfaction. Eric's crew took pictures of everything (as my air handler is in the attic above the garage), took out the old unit, installed the new unit as well as replaced the fuse (was the wrong size for system), replaced the drain pan and drain line, installed two float/cutoff switches, replaced some pipe insulation, new pad for condensor, cleaned everything up and installed my Honeywell programmable thermostat. Eric and his crew were extremely helpful and professional. They truly care about their customers and give excellent service. This has been the best experience that I've had with any contractor in my 10 years of home ownership. Before leaving after installation, Eric made sure he answered all my questions and ensured I understood everything. He even told me in about a week the unit will be inspected by a third party to ensure the system is up to code, and he will send me a copy of the permit. Eric will register the unit for the manufacturer warranty, and he offers a two year labor warranty as well as a two year maintenance warranty. This company went above and beyond, they even picked limbs up out of my back yard, and that had nothing to do with the a.c. install!

I used Langdon Heating and Air for an HVAC inspection to purchase a new home. The inspection was…read moreless than 20 minutes and did not catch a very obvious approximate 4 foot length of refrigerant line that was not insulated in the attic. This line began to form condensation and started to drip into one of my bedrooms causing damage to the ceiling in the same week I closed on the house. In addition, less than a month after closing, the compressor failed and a float switch in the attic caught fire. The inspection report noted a capacitor that was going bad, an unrealiable pan, and dirty coils on the condensor but failed to note the age of the system, the severe heat damage to the compressor, severely rusted out evaporator coils, or the refrigerant line that was not insulated. The refrigerant was also found to be three pounds low when I called another company to fix my unit. These are all issues that ANY reliable HVAC would inform a buyer of. This inspection was crucial for me in buying this house and in my contract the seller was required to fix any major issues. These issues are not something that occur in a short period of time between an inspection and a closing. Due to the failure of the inspection to catch these issues I am going to have to pay $10k to replace my HVAC less than a month after closing. Unacceptable and unreliable. The inspection was a waste of money and did not protect me as a buyer. The first photo included is the detailed notes from another company that came after I moved in. My experience with Comfort Pro has been excellent, prompt, courteous technicians, quality of professional service, excellent communication, and fair pricing. The semi-annual maintenance services have revealed no issues so far, so I have not needed repairs. However, I did sign up for the $19.99 monthly plan since my HVAC unit is older; it is a very reasonable cost that covers semi-annual maintenance visits while providing coverage for future issues that may arise. Logan and Alex have provided very professional, friendly maintenance service. Mary always follows up with timely maintenance reminders, and to obtain feed-back after technician visits.
