I CAN"T BELIEVE THIS PLACE. First off, every time we would take our animals here for their routine shots, etc we NEVER got to see the vet. All we ever got were high school looking kids with huge gage earrings, torn jeans and t-shirts..real professional. Today I received a call at work from my girlfriend who was crying hysterically. She said that something was wrong with Bailey, our schnauzer. She said that she was acting very, very ill. I told her to take Bailey to the vet, which this vet is the closest. She ran in and was told by the lady behind the counter that the vet was eating lunch and could not be bothered and after lunch he was going in to surgery so she should just go find another vet! Are you flippin' kidding me! What a load of trash! We will NEVER go back and I hope you don't either! read more

They are the best vet in the state. They truly care about your animal and are not overpriced like most vets. They have helped my Great Dane twice and never offer more treatment than necessary. They are just really good and kind people. read more

We were camping out of Coolidge when my small dog was stung by a bee and we had a medical emergency on our hands. I called them and without hesitation they told us to try and get to them. They got us right back when we came in and our little girl started to feel better. Dr. Instructed us to call with any concerns, how amazing is that. So not only was the care swift, complete and compassionate, I was really surprised when we got our bill. We did not got charged an emergency visit cost or a first time patient visit. We were saying it is almost worth driving from Mesa to see this vet. read more

I did wait a very long time the first time I went here, but the vet was very good and explained everything in detail once she finally came in. The second time I came (a week later) I saw a different vet and I was in and out. However, she gave me a medication that the previous vet had just prescribed and I didn't realize it until I had already paid and gotten home. I'm glad I looked at the name or I might have double dosed and maybe killed my dog! The staff was very nice and I really liked the "nurses". Much cheaper than the vets in Casa Grande. They even gave a follow up call to check on my dog after my first visit. read more

I lived in the area for several years, and took my dogs here for check ups, teeth cleanings, and when my dogs were sick/hurt. I always got in quickly, Dr. Wood is fantastic with animals, they don't run tests that aren't needed, and their prices are cheaper than any place I have found in the valley. The waiting room is very small, but what do you expect in a small town? I couldn't care less about that. The important things are "do I trust you to take care of my furbabies?" The answer is ABSOLUTELY! They have taken such good care of my boys every time I have gone there. I wouldn't hesitate to take my guys back there if I ever moved back to the area. read more

I took my kitten here he was not responding wouldnt lift his head or anything . Paid them for the visit they didnt even do anything but bcuz i didnt have 200 up front ( i even tried to give them my credit card number to pull the money off on my payday )they sent him home to die . I wont recommend this place to anyone . And as for caring about ur pets they dont they care about the money . read more

We have been seeing Dr. Wood for 6 years now. We drive from Maricopa to Coolidge. The cost is reasonable as Dr. Wood is experienced enough the she diagnosed our Pug with Diabetes by looking at her eyes. The problem had eluded 2 other vets. The prior two Vets wanted to send us to an internal medicine specialist for pets. Which would have been very costly. Dr. Wood stated she thought she knew what was wrong right away. For $12.00 there was a glucose test performed to confirm. Our dog was able to start treatment with insulin. We were able to have her for two more years. Without Dr.Wood we would have had to put her down the day we visited. She was our last hope and we are truly thankful for her knowledge and professionalism. It's unfortunate to have others not be as happy with the clinic. Yes the clinic is older. However the positive is the practice is established and with lower overhead Dr. Wood can provide affordable care. The office is clean. Old does not make the office bad. I'm glad to hear potentially aggressive animals are turned away from boarding. Personally I understand the decision to error on the side of caution. If another animal or person is injured by an aggressive boarder, ultimately the clinic is responsible. I can understand the inconvenience, however also one has to understand the liability. One has to keep in mind, that our society will take the time to respond negatively more often that to say something nice. Good service often goes unacknowledged. However we are inclined to shout from the roof tops when we are emotionally charged and feel we have been wronged. read more

I come to this hospital for at least 14 years, always good treatments, last week I went in with my dog, she lost weight and us was asked to leave her there but I asked my husband to bring me back, I just wanted to be with my dog, dr. woods came to me and told me, can your doctor tell you in 15 minutes what is wrong with you, I told her that I understand she need time but I wanted to wait there and be with my dog. They did X-rays and blood test and a test for valley fever, it took them 5 days to tell us the results from the X-rays and my husband who is a doctor him self, know that x-rays can be read directly. Dr. Woods was rude to me and told me to take the dog home, later on the secretary told my husband to bring the dog back in for more tests. All I wanted was being with my dog so she knew she is not alone but they not let you with the dog, they take them and you can't see what they are doing. Waiting 5 days for the results for a X-Ray while they promised to call us that same day, my husband went there 3 times before he finally got the result, this morning they called and told us, to put butter in the food so my dog will gain weight.no my dog get healthy food and not something just to gain weight, also they said the wrong name when they called this morning, so they even can't remember the name of they call you? Never had a problem with the male doctor there but Dr. Woods need to retire I think, she is grumpy and not nice! read more

I took my dog in for a incontinance issue, the meds she had been taking just weren't working well. The staff was friendly and Doctor Mat was professional and we discussed some options. He sent me home with a new medication. The first day I gave my dog the meds she vomited off and on all day. I called the vets office to see if this was normal or what options did I have. I called and was asked to hold the line, no problem I understand busy. I was on hold for a very long time so I hung up, I waited a while and called back, I was put on hold again and this time I waited until they came on the line. I explained the situation and the woman I spoke with was so rude, apparently I was a tremendous bother. Her advise (without checking with the Doctor, was she a doctor? I don't know as she didn't give me her name) was to try giving the pill with some food. Ok, that's logical. When I asked her what the options were for another type of medication she condescendingly said there was another medication but it was too expensive, she didn't know how much though. The whole conversation was such a hassle for her. Like I said I understand busy and maybe she had an emergency waiting and didn't want to deal with my petty problem but she should have said so, I would have called back at a convenient time. She was rude enough that I will be cancelling my next appointment and finding another vet. All doctors are their staff and their staff represent their management skills. If there is an uncaring/rude staff the doctor needs to step up and correct the issue. I did like the doc though. Bummer read more

Our special thank goes to Dr. Langegger, we had to make a very hard decision and after 11 years having our sweet Daisy, he diagnosed her with leukemia. From the moment he diagnosed her until he put her to sleep, (a few days later) he showed love for Daisy. Daisy past away 5 days ago and today we got her ashes and a paw print home, thank you Dr. Langegger and all the staff members who were very patience in this process, they gave us all the time we needed. No hurry and we could stay as long as we wanted with Daisy. Daisy was going to this vet since she was 6 weeks old,never we had any complain, we still have our Senna who will need her shots and exams now and then, we for sure trust Dr. Langegger and his staff, thank you all so much, the pain is still there and will be there maybe forever but thanks to you all, we felt love and compassion.The Madsen Family! read more

I take back my first review about this place, I will never take my dogs there again. We went in for a simple procedure, getting neutered. My dog got a blood clot after, they werent sure what went wrong and when I decided to do a pop in visit to check on my dog he was laying on a cement cell with no a/c and it was over 100 degrees that day. His legs were now swollen and no one noticed when I asked them why. He was also running a fever, I took my dog from that place and went to a different vet to get a second opinion. My dog almost died that day, thank god we stopped in, he went thro 2 more surgeries at the new vet. He had fluid leaking from his scrotum into his legs, they had to put tubes in his legs to drain the fluid. The coolidge hospital never even called after I left that day and I have been going there for 3 yrs now with my dogs. Just goes to show how much they dont care. This place deserves no stars read more

I breed and rescue bloodhounds. I have seen many vets in Arizona. In my opinion, Dr Wood & Dr McDaniels are outstanding in their field. I am confident that they suggest the best treatments for my dogs while avoiding unnecessary tests or procedures. They really listen and take the time to explain the treatments they prescribe. They are honest and down to earth. They both have an excellent 'pet-side manner', I recommend them to any pet owner. read more

I do not recommend this place.. I have been taking my dogs here for many many years and all of a sudden they get a new staff who doesn't know ANYTHING about what they are doing . You can't ask the front desk people any questions because they look totally dumbfounded and rely on each other's answers to get a answer for the customer.. SO I took my 6 week old pit bull there for his shots brought up a spot on my dogs leg where hair was missing.. 3 weeks later I go in for his second session of shots and now he is losing more hair bring it their attention and say he's fine....well here it is my dog is 3 months old now and he has patches of hair missing on his body!!! On our last visit I pointed out the hair that is CLEARLY missing from my dogs body and they still say it is nothing to worry about.. well 2 weeks after his 3 months I have to call them to let them know that my dog may have MANGE which can be harmful to the dog other dogs and humans depending on what type it is. We take him to the vet he gets looked at and he gets a scrape to be diagnosed with DEMODEX MANGE....GO FIGURE MY DOG WOULD HAVE THAT.(ME AND MY BOYFRIEND FOUND THE DIAGNOSIS ON THE INTERNET AND SUGGESTED IT TO THE VET!!!) WHICH WAS THE OWNER OF THE VET OFFICE . SO Today on 11/5 I take him I to go get his treatment and am advised that I have to pay for the dip and the scraping that was already previously done and the dip that would be done today... (Walked out in Saturday with no charges and all of a sudden they are charged) I WAS TOLD I WAS ANGRY AND THAT I COULD TAKE MY business else where since I was causing problems. I would never suggest anyone to go because now I am having to so this process all over again! read more

We went here as it was recommended to us. We had been here a few times with our dog as he has been having several issues. They have been ok the first few times, I have no complaints about their care. However, this last time our dog was bleeding from his bum really bad. We called the Office and they advised to bring him in at 2p, my husband replied he couldn't as he needed to pick up his car from shop, he would call back, when he called back they advised bring him in at 430p, my husband was there a bit before 430p. (now mind you they close at 530p), they tell my husband as he is sitting there that the fee is 75.00 instead of 35.00 fee saying it was after hours. Are you kidding me? You close at 5:30pm daily yet your going to charge my husband an after hours fee? Why was this not disclosed on the phone call? My husband worried about our dog agreed to pay. When he got home last night and told me I felt that it was wrong, so I called this morning to speak to a manager. The dr got on the phone and right away started going on and on about what he did to my dog, which I had no issue with his care or service it was just the fee. I proceed to explain, and I was very professional and polite about it. Told him I was disappointed that they charged that amount and did not disclose, not directly but in so many words called my husband a liar. Now, ok I understand standing up for your staff and protecting them, but staff do make errors, and in this case they did. I can promise you without a doubt they did not disclose the fee, but rather than the dr saying, you know what, we value your business, let me talk to my staff again, see what transpired and maybe we can meet in the middle. That is not what happened, he pretty much did not care if he lost our business, which is sad to me. I am truly disappointed that it worked out this way as I did not have a problem with the care, just did not feel that they cared much about keeping us as customers. I have no problem paying for my dogs care, and if it is an emergency fee, then fine, I will pay. If you let me know upfront I don't have an issue at all. To anyone who uses this vet, you will get good care, just make sure you are advised upfront or you ask what the fees are upfront because they do not work with the customers when it comes to that. Very disappointed in the outcome. :( read more

Doc Wood is so compassionate and caring for all of the animals in her care. She just helped us when we had to take our 18 yr old shepherd mix in for euthanasia. She was so soothing to him & sedated him so he would be unaware of what was coming and even raced around the office to get us a note card and stamp pad so we could take his paw print. We've been dealing with Coolidge Animal Hospital for some time now and they never disappoint. Our female recently started having grand mal seizures. I had no choice but to take her to a very disappointing clinic because Coolidge Animal Hospital was closed. The place we had her treated, for all of its bells & whistles has NOTHING on Doc Woods. With Doc Wood, we never have trouble getting an appointment. We've always been treated with the utmost respect. They respect the limitations of your bank account as well. I can't recommend them highly enough. I dread the day that Audie retires. read more

Absolutely horrible. We made reservations over a week ago for boarding, they asked us the usual questions about if our dogs should be fed together and if they take medications or anything. We show up today to drop them off on our way up north for a 3-day vacation and waited almost 40 minutes before they could "find the chart" and finally some girl with a bad attitude comes out saying that because our dog has a muzzle on they wouldn't accept her for boarding. We put a muzzle on because who knows what other dogs will be in the ridiculously small waiting area, not because she's people or food aggressive (although she might have chased the freely-roaming offices cats they have there if she had not been leashed). We asked to speak to the manager and she replied she is the manager. We were supposed to be in our hotel tonight, instead we lost the $202 we paid for a (30th birthday) vacation that can't be refunded hours before we're scheduled to check in. We've been going there for 7 years and will never be back. read more

We took our beloved 16 year old Jack Russell Terrier to this vet because it was time to let him go to doggie heaven. This was the hardest decision we had ever made.We specially requested that his ashes be returned to us so we would still always have part of him with us. I get a call yeaterday from some staff member telling me that someone had made a clerical error on the paperwork and did not request to have his ashes returned. When I told my wife what this lady had just told me, my wife broke down in tears. My wife said, this is like losing our dog twice. I called the doctor and she confirmed that one of the staff had made an error and that was nothing that could be done. This kind of mistake is totally unacceptible from a veterinary hospital. This is like, I forgot the baby in the car in 110 degree weather mistake. This is not, I ordered too much stationary. I do not know what legal recourse I have, but at the very least I will let others know what happened to us in hopes that it will not happen to them. The only reasonable remedy is that the person who made this mistake be fired. No one like that should be working with animals. read more

i went to this place due to recommendations but watch out. i took my cat there for an issue with diarrhea. it was very bad getting everywhere. they didn't have the medicine in stock and said they would call in a prescription to a place that mails out the medicine. i asked if i can find someone local can they send the prescription there. sure no problem the vet says. this was on a Friday and it would be about 1 week to get the meds and have it shipped out per the mail order company. I called walgreens and they had no problem doing this but the prescription was to small for them to do. they told me to contact anothr place that can handle smaller. Called the vet back with the fax # and they said theh already sent it out to walgreens and their supplier and they would not send it out to anyone else. if i wanted it I have to come in and get it then take it there. I am not even close to them. luckily walgreens faxed the script over to the newe place and guess what. it was 1/2 price of the supplier they wanted me to wait a week for and use. Is the vet getting a kickback? all the vets around me stocked the medicine too but they would have to rjn their own tests which is understandable. bottom line is stay away from this place due tl small stock on hand and forcing you to get mail order meds and double the price and not carinf about your pet or the situation.. stay far away from them or you will learn the hard way!! read more

EEEK! My poor doggie went in for a tail amputation and came back with a HUGE hemotoma on his neck. they say that he was really hyper and they needed to draw blood and had a tough time...that's not acceptable he could have been given a sedative especially if he was going to receive anesthesia anyways for the surgery! AND i requested that his teeth be cleaned, but when we picked him up they didn't do it because they said he didn't have any plaque build up I DON'T CARE what THEIR OPINION is...I asked for a service to be done and they did not do it. The tail looks good although the wrap came off about 2 hours after he got home (which it shouldn't have). overall i guess its a convenient place if you live in town and don't have much time for travel but i would NOT recommend it. you would think a good Vet would know how to handle hyper, happy animals without causing them pain and stress.....soo its a day later and i find out from my husband that they originally charged him for the teeth cleaning when he went to pay and when he asked what they did they went to get the vet and only then did the vet say the cleaning was never done SOOO if my husband had never asked to talk to the vet then we would have been charged for a service that was not performed. NOT HAPPY! read more
