Unfortunately it was time. I knew it was time but I didn't want to come to the harsh reality that my dog was ready to cross the rainbow bridge. I didn't want to be in a sterile and cold environment. I wanted my fur baby to be at home. I reached out to Angel Veterinary Services and was able to hold sweet toothless half blind and deaf fur baby as she crossed. It was very heartbreaking. I am so thankful for AVS for the kindness and compassion my pup received. They allowed me to read from a journal, hold her as long as needed, clipped some fur and gave me a clay imprint of her paw. It took me a while to write this review because my heart is still completely broken over losing my baby girl, Sophia From the very first phone call, every woman I spoke with was incredibly kind, patient, compassionate, and empathetic. This service was originally recommended to me by a family member, and they had also helped my parents when they had to say goodbye to their fur kid. They later helped a friend of mine with two of her fur babies, and sadly, eventually it was my turn. All of our pups had reached old age, and while saying goodbye is never easy, I am incredibly grateful for the compassion and dignity they showed Sophia and our family. Dr Ray and her assistant I'm sorry I can't remember her name showed up in no less a black suv. I actually liked the black SUV fitting or the situation. Everything was as planned in my head. However it was more peaceful. I have never had a vet come to my home to euthanize a pet. The peace they brought me and knowing my Butter was able to smell his familiar smells before crossing rainbow bridge was a peace only Dr Ray could bring. I will never ever take an animal to be euthanize of old age to a vet office ever again. Butter lived 21 years. He was ready to go when he stopped eating heck I think he was ready to go when he was going blind but he hung on a few more years for me. I will always miss him. Yesterday, we had to say goodbye to our beloved Newfoundland. Dr. Alexis and her assistant came to our home and walked into a room with four heartbroken adults, all in tears. It's been several months since I said goodbye to my sweet Iggy. I had always taken my pets to the vet office when it was time, and it was always a sweet, peaceful experience, but I wanted Iggy to avoid that trip. In this case, he was given what I think was a spinal injection near his tail. He screamed, looked at me shocked and terrified, and then he was essentially asleep. I had never seen a response like that from him in any vet appointment. Not even close. I had sat with him for four hours before his appointment, and he was calm. His final moment of lucidity was pain and terror. I'll never forget the look on his face. I cried and lost sleep for three months so sad for his experience. They will tell you that they will give him a preliminary injection. Ask where and how it will be for your baby. Maybe they have other options. read more

On Father's Day we had to make the painful decision to have our golden doodle Sawyer euthanized after a week of struggling after he was diagnosed with metastatic cancer of his spleen. We contacted Angel Veterinary Services at 5:00 am and left a message that we need assistance with transitioning our puppy to a better place. We immediately received a call back from their offices letting us know Dr. Alexis and her assistant, Rhi were available at 11 am to come to our house and euthanize our puppy. We were heart broken with having to make this decision. When Dr. Alexis and Rhi arrived at our house they met us at the front door with so much love and compassion that we knew Sawyer would be in good hands throughout this process. While our hearts were broken, Dr. Alexis helped us feel like we made the right decision and Sawyer had transitioned to a much better place. OVer the next couple of days, we recieved so much support through Dr. Alexis and her team that made us feel so much better and we know our Sawyer is no longer suffering and in a much better place with our previous puppy, Mona Lisa and our family in heaven. As a hospice nurse I never understood why my patient's family members were so grateful for walking them through the end-of-life process until Angel Vet (specifically Dr. Overton and her assistant Tom) came and walked me through the process of euthanizing my German Shepherd.  I have never had to make the decision to euthanize an animal and I was so incredibly grateful for Dr. Overton and Tom's compassion and patience going through this process! I didn't know what to expect and each step Dr. Overton explained and walked my family and I through everything going on...it was so beautiful and helpful!!
