It was a tough move (stairs were involved) on a hot day (lots of boxes of books (sorry Markus!)), and they did it efficiently and carefully. Don't waste your time. Book these guys!! Markiss was incredibly flexible accommodating my request 2 days before the date I needed moving muscle. He and Levoy showed up and got to work loading up our 3br house into a trailer to be moved cross country. They did little things that were really helpful such as recommended a strap kit for me to buy to secure the tall load in the trailer. These guys are extremely professional, have great moving equipment, and are incredibly proficient at what they do. Plus they're just good people. Markiss and Levoy did an amazing job helping us move. I called him Friday and he was able to fit us in with short notice for Tuesday. He answered gave me a quote and sent over an estimate to my email right away. They showed up right on time and packed everything all in one load very carefully but also in a timely fashion. We were going over on our estimated time slot so myself and mom got in there to help unload the rest. It took longer than any of us were expecting but they did get it all done in one day. My expanding kitchen table somehow got stuck half way expanded during transit. I was afraid they were going to just leave it but they didn't. They stayed after to make sure it was in working order before they left. IHaul is the best. I can't understand why anyone in the Tacoma area would go to any other mover/muscle servce. Easy to schedule and fairly priced. But what really makes iHaul great are the gentlemen who arrive at the door. They are much more than muscle; they are true professionals who clearly care about you, the job, their reputation. Markis, when I told him that I had to store some painted furniture in my garage, took the time to shrink wrap it. I ran out of baggies to put hardware in; no problem, they brought extra. They covered the hardwood floors and stairwell landing to prevent scuffs. You could not meet kinder, more careful guys. As a team, they are amazing. They maneuvered a ridiculously heavy (Iron and white oak) entry way table up a flight of stairs in the time it took a big US Marine buddy and me to get it up four steps and retreat back downstairs. At the end of the job, they checked in repeatedly to make sure that all was done; going room to room to make sure. Beyond all that, they are just good people. This job came as a result of a tragedy in my life. I was not as organized for their arrival as I'd have liked. They were compassionate, understanding, and just dove into the job. Their good-humor and work ethic lifted me out of the dumps of unpacking a lost loved one's things; made my day very productive. iHaul is the opposite of the sketchy, amateurish, uncaring, ill-equipped movers who give moving companies a bad rep. We got our floors redone and had to move everything out of the house, including large appliances, into our garage and studio. I booked Markiss several weeks in advance to take away unwanted items while moving my daughter out of her duplex. He checked in with me closer to the date to confirm. He arrived on time and got right to work. I found out that he had had some issues that morning with his own truck, so he had to rent one. Also, his helper was not there so he did everything himself.
