Had to beg them to show up for first appointment. Left trash all over our driveway. Asked them to take the trash away several times, no response. Showed up on wrong date to finish install. Installed stove that fills the house with massive smoke every time. I sent many messages asking them to come fix it. No response. Shouldn't have paid them. Don't hire them. (This is the first bad review I've ever written. I'm usually very nice, but they just wouldn't respond and correct their screw-ups. Had to do it.) read more

Guy named Sam came to my house for a chimney care estimate and air duct cleaning. Lied to me about my chimney having emergent issues and rushed me to pay him $3000 for repairs, and additional $1000 for air duct cleaning (an estimation based on the price of $69 per vent), and lied about me needing to pay $15,000 later if not having him repair it immediately. Multiple inspections show that my chimney only needs a cap, a deep wash, and a replacement of flashing. For air duct clean, he appears to know nothing about it and gave this ridiculous price of $1000. I regret paying $200 to have him vacuum from my air inlet for less than 5 minutes using a tiny machine. Dishonest and unprofessional. read more

We made an appointment with Chimcare to service our family room fireplace. We were lucky because they were very accommodating and gave us an appointment so soon as possible (within 5 days) which we appreciated. Plus, they gave us 20% off too!!! Excellent service aka 5 stars. Chimcare's technician Ryan Scott quickly found the issue, installed a part and resolved our issue. Very poor experience. Paid top dollar for gas fireplace cleaning and inspection. But unit stopped working 3 days after service! Been sitting in the cold all winter. After 4 weeks attempting to contact them, they finally sent technician back to re-inspect, and promised a repair estimate. It did not come. Inquired, and only after another 3 weeks did I get an estimate for $2300 additional work. Will not follow up with a company that is so unprofessional. A price of $489 must cover more than 75 minutes of a technician's time. While it seemed high, I accepted that price because I was assured professional service, completed promptly and satisfactorily. That is not what I received. Many other companies offer cleaning and inspection for $100-200. For $489 I expected at least an accurate inspection the first time, without my having to repeatedly pester them just to get a response. I expect a refund for services not performed, but after repeated attempts to contact them I'm getting nowhere. Will have to pursue other avenues of redress. Wish I'd never hired these guys. read more

My wife hired them to service 2 fireplaces. We were told that our flue was locked in position and the fix is to cut the metal, remove it, and add a top of chimney flue. Estimates followed. The cleaned both, no complaints. About an hour and a half, more than $1000. We had our handyman come by to have a look and he relatively quickly freed up the flue and it's working fine. I called and spoke to manager with two requests, first and foremost to be honest and address this issue. Second I asked for a partial refund. I then got a lecture that I just wanted money, and that our handyman is incompetent to say our flue is ok because he's not a certified chimney specialist. He then said he recorded the conversation and will fight back if a complaint is filed. Poor experience. My opinion is they was dishonest to gain more work. Regardless of that issue I don't believe they are a good value. read more

I can't give a review low enough, so I suppose I'll give 1-star for their logo. Calling them is pointless. Emailing them will get you a response 4-6 weeks after, MAYBE. I was a lucky one and got a consultation appointment for approximately $10,000 worth of work (you think they'd like that) and I've conveniently had 3 "unforeseen conditions" that caused the tech to reschedule. That's three times in the 3 months we've been waiting. This is 3 days off work so I can be home and 3 times a text "oh we'll have to reschedule; I'll look at the calendar" with no recourse for the issue nor the folks waiting to get heat in their home. When my furnace malfunctioned, the gas company shut down all of my gas appliances, including my gas fireplace. The only way to get it going again was to have it reconnected by a professional. Other companies I talked to on the phone just wanted me to buy a new fireplace, saying mine probably couldn't be fixed because it was old and parts were hard to get, even though I told them it worked just fine and just needed to be connected and cleaned. Chimcare to the rescue! Mike came out in less than a week, reconnected and cleaned the unit and got it working right away. He was clean, quick, and thoroughly professional. Navigating their phone system is a bit of a struggle, but other than that, everything has been great! Everyone I've interacted with has been really nice, getting on the schedule for an estimate and job was easy, and they even moved my repair date up by two weeks because they had a chance opening. I was able to get a highly efficient wood insert through them, which can be hard to come by. I also appreciate their service offerings because, being honest, I'd almost certainly forget to do regular maintenance otherwise. Another good reason to go with Chimcare! read more

I waited for us to sell our house, about 1 1/2 years after our service was done, to write this review if this is saying anything. We booked to get our firebox replaced because there was a crack in it and was told it was a fire hazard. Since we were converting the fireplace from wood burning to gas, we wanted to be sure we were being as safe as possible and thought it was the right decision. We scheduled several months out and had the service done in November 2021. The person who came out didn't have bricks to actually do the service, so he came just to say hi and then left for a few hours to get brick to then come back and partially start the job. Chimcare is the one that told us our firebox was in such terrible condition but when the worker went to start working on tearing the old brick out, he couldn't even get it because it was still in such good condition. He told us we probably could have had a more minor service done to just fill the crack, but by the time he suggested it, a partial amount of the firebox was gone. He came back the next day and continued to try to get the old brick out and still was unable to do it. He called the manager and asked for a specific item to borrow to complete our job and the manager told him "no" and that someone else was using it. We offered to even go down to Home Depot to just rent it out of our pocket to just get the service done and was told we couldn't do that. We were extremely unhappy, especially since we were originally told how terrible our firebox was to begin with and how the employee didn't even have the materials that we booked months out. On the 3rd day, the employee was able to actually get his hands on the necessary equipment to complete the job. We called the office and expressed our anger and frustration and had the manager show up to our front door, instead of just calling us back and talking to us. He stated he was new into the role. Not only did we feel extremely uncomfortable with this, you could tell he was just trying to intimidate us. He owned up to not giving the necessary equipment to his employee but instead of apologizing for the terrible service we had gotten, he had the nerve to say they wouldn't be charging us any additional amount (I don't know why he would think we would pay more than what we were told the cost was) and also told us he would make sure the gas insert was done correctly - yet we did not order a gas insert through them so I don't know why he would mention that. He was incredibly unprofessional and we would never use this company again and have made sure any friends or family in the area also heard about our horror story. Additionally, we also had another experience prior to this one months before it for a chimney sweep - the employee showed up and had no idea what he was even there to do. read more

But then again, if he had been here at 8am as scheduled he would have missed most of that traffic. 2 hours late for your first appointment of the day is pretty inexcusable and the weak excuse isn't helping. My chimney was in complete disrepair. Chimcare took care of that! They were very responsive when I initially called them and scheduled an appointment for an estimate quickly. I accepted the bid, which I thought was reasonable for the amount of work needing to be done. The work was scheduled to be done over a three-to-four-day period. They communicated with me every step of the way. I received a text each night before letting me know what time they would arrive the next day. On one occasion when they unexpectedly needed to stop for some supplies, they let me know they would be a bit late. The men doing the work were very polite and got right to work each day. We moved into our house in June and didn't know if the fireplace insert and chimney were clean and wanted to be sure before starting to use it. We had a pretty major water leak down our chimney this past spring. I called several chimney companies to come out and give me a bid. A couple of the companies suggested that we didn't need any mortar work done on our chimney. There were many areas of holes and crumbling mortar. Andrew from Chimcare stated that water can enter through those holes. This made sense, so ultimately we chose the highest bid for the job. This was because Chimcare is the only company that I personally know of in the area that does tuck point work on brick mortar. It's a very labor intensive job of grinding out the old crumbling mortar an inch, and refilling the space with new mortar. Dan is highly skilled at this, and his work is truly perfect. The other companies would have mudded new "shoulders" and a new cap on the fireplace, but nothing more, because they don't have people who can do the tuck point work. In addition, Dan went the extra mile and cleaned out a 12foot section of gutter which caused water to spill down over the chimney. I think this contributed to water coming in the chimney. He also replace very worn flashing. Lastly, Harold runs things at their office, and he's always delightful to talk with. He reduced the total amount of the job, because scaffolding wasn't used. All in all I'm thrilled with how the chimney turned out! read more

I researched companies to find a good candidate to clean the chimney & install a new cap. Other companies had questionable reviews and Bellevue Chimney had none. Hoping for the best, I called and set up an appointment the first week of September. The person on the phone was average in service and scheduled an appt for 8:30am Saturday. Chimney Sweeper (Daniel) arrived right on time (thus the one *). His ladder was not set up correctly (missing the pull rope to extend the ladder). My husband gave him our nylon rope so that he could start the job. After tinkering with the ladder, Daniel informed us that our chimney height required a 40ft ladder. He didn't have that size available and would need to come back. He informed us that he would keep our ticket open and return later in the week. No show, no call, no sweeper. I left a message two weeks later that we were still waiting. No show, no call. I do not usually leave poor reviews, so I am hoping that Bellevue Chimney uses this as a tool to improve their service so that other customers can have a good experience. I have now scheduled with Emerald and am on a 6 week waiting list! argh! I'll keep you posted! read more
