My first in-person consultation with Cooper Orthodontics went well. The staff was friendly and helpful, and I signed up for lingual braces. Since the procedure required special equipment, they warned me it might take a while. I initially agreed to this, but because of supplier complications and also a scheduling conflict it ended up being about six months before my actual braces procedure. By that time, I felt uneasy, especially since I had only met the orthodontist once, half a year prior. I canceled the appointment and decided against the braces, but the wrap-up process was extremely frustrating. It was hard to reach an actual person in the office, and I had to keep leaving voice messages or sending texts. Then they would get back to me at their convenience. Even though I had to pay for the custom mouthpiece that had been made, it was still a relief to end the relationship and not have to deal with the communication issues for the long period of time that braces would have taken. read more

Great experience overall, and their approach and commitment to help me keep the treatment going and progressing during the pandemic (virtual scans with recommendations soon after) were very useful and ensured progress was being made. I moved out of the city during the pandemic and Dr Copper and staff did all they could to make sure I continued treatment: checking on me regularly through their app, mailing trays when needed, and finding an appointment also when needed. I have small children and I got pregnant during treatment too so I really appreciated their flexibility and support, which were critical to complete the treatment. I was dreading starting another treatment again, and although it took way longer than I expected (3 years instead of one) I'm glad I did it and completed it. amended the Team doesn't read so well. We HAD A CONSULTATION. Dr. Cooper made her recommendation and said her office would be in touch. A conference is needed for pricing. Really? The entire consultation didn't take 10 minutes but you need a CONFERENCE regarding pricing? How stupid do you think we are? I'm guessing very. Dr. Cooper seems ok but I don't know that I will every get over her entitled staff....really poorly reflecting on her practice. Whomever (emails from the team, no person is ever identified which is odd and impersonal) is in charge refuses to give you treatment options with prices upfront after the consultation. Dr. Cooper mentioned the options available and her recommendation during the consultation but now I need a conference to discuss pricing? You know a hard sell is coming when they can't give you a price without a "conference". No thank you. I prefer to deal with upfront people and upfront pricing. Also didn't like the many reviews that say it's hard to get in for an emergency...one look at the limited office hours explains that issue. Too many great orthodontists out there to return to one with strange office practices IMHO. read more

AVOID DR. COOPER AT ALL COST AND YOUR TEETH WILL THANK YOU!!! I have been a patient of Dr. Cooper since March 2016. I prepaid for my service which was a huge mistake. I was referred to Dr. Cooper by my dentist and decided to do my treatment with Dr. Cooper since she wasn't far from my dentist. I was told that the overall treatment would take about 24 months and it has been over six years now. Dr. Cooper told me what my teeth would look like after the treatment. However, NOTHING Dr. Cooper said ever came true. For the first few years, I was patient and thought she is professional and knows what she is doing (a huge mistake on my part). However, it turns out Dr. Cooper had no clue what she was doing. She messed up my entire treatment. At the start of the treatment, a few of the braces' brackets broke despite following all the directions (not eating hard food, avoiding chewing gum, etc.). I spoke to Dr. Cooper about it, and she didn't know, so I decided to observe closely. I found out that it was due to my bite which I adjusted during eating and talking, and no braces broke after that. Dr. Cooper couldn't even figure out such a basic thing and warned me that due to my bite I might have complications with the braces, and provide a treatment to fix it. During one of my treatments, I had items in my mouth to keep it open while Dr. Cooper performed the work. Without even consulting me or telling me beforehand she grinded one of my k9 teeth. All my other teeth look pointed except that k9. I was beyond pissed, but I kept my cool. However, after a few years, I spoke to Dr. Cooper about how my teeth are not looking like they were supposed to. She immediately got defensive and started to lie. She told me that she showed me what my teeth would look like after the treatment (she never showed me anything and backtrack on what she told me at the beginning of my treatment). Additionally, she and her staff mostly never follow up on things they said they were going to follow up on. I switched doctors and Dr. Cooper said that she will call my new doctor to coordinate the treatment. I waited for a month and never heard anything from Dr. Cooper. I called her office and they said they have been calling my new doctor but got no response from him. My wife had an appointment with the new doctor, so I went with her. The doctor immediately asked me about my treatment, I told him that Dr. Cooper has been contacting you, but you haven't responded to her. He swore that no one from Dr. Cooper's office called. He got Dr. Cooper's contact information from me and called Dr. Cooper instead. Dr. Cooper and her staff lied about contacting my new doctor. However, I wasn't surprised because Dr. Cooper has been lying most of the time over the past six years. All in all, AVOID DR. COOPER AT ALL COST AND YOUR TEETH WILL THANK YOU!!! read more

Dr.Cooper is awesome! Her staff is so friendly. She will work with your income to provide you with proper payment plans for any service. I had braces when I was I'm high school and this is my second time with them. With the custom wires, my teeth have gotten straighter in a shorter amount of time than when I got braces the first time. Her staff is also very knowledgeable and will answer any questions I have. The office is so modern and the equipment is so high tech. I absolutely love this dentist. read more

update: I am speaking from experience. there was no such thing as HIPAA compliant texting services that Dr. Cooper mentioned. Not once did i call in to ask for Dr. Cooper but to hear that she's "out of town." and payments were monthly regardless of whether you had an appointment or not. so when Dr. cooper prolongs treatment it is prolonging monthly payments as well. if you leave a good review you get free chick fil a. i was not compelled by anything except my horrible experience to leave mine. read more

My 15-year-old daughter had braces put on by Dr. Cooper. We first went in for a consultation so our initial interaction was with Megan; we knew if she was any reflection of Dr. Cooper's practice we were at the right place as she was kind, welcoming, and very helpful. The office was very inviting with beautiful abstract art on the walls and delicious coffee and espresso offered in the waiting area. I found during the consultation with Dr. Cooper, she displayed the highest level of professionalism, patience, and caring. This continued to be the case when we went in to have the work done. I moved to Houston from a different state with braces and of course had to find a new orthodontist to take over my treatment. I had 3 consultations with other orthodontist before choosing to make Cooper Orthodontics my new provider. Dr. Cooper has truly gone above and beyond to make sure my treatment, coordination of my surgery (had PAOO) and aftercare was smooth. She has been very patient with the number of questions I had prior to my PAOO surgery and other questions/concerns I've had regarding treatment. Dr. Cooper is very knowledgeable! Dr.Cooper is the best in houston ! I had visited other orthodontist in houston and I was informed jaw surgery with each ortho, however not once did Dr.Cooper mention anything about jaw surgery ! She is VERY VERY knowledgeable in her field! I feel very very comfortable as a patient in her office with her and her team. Dr.Coopers personality and smile just makes you feel at home! If any concerns Dr.Cooper and her staff address each concern exactly how it needs to be taken care of and explain to me each process which is great ! I have been so pleased with every aspect of Cooper Orthodontics from the initial consultation to each appointment that I have had. Dr. Cooper has wonderful staff that are very welcoming and efficient! I currently have lingual braces (braces on the back of my teeth) and I have been so pleased! I thought that we had dodged the braces bullet, but dentist recently suggested that we take our 13 year-old son for a consultation. We went to Cooper first, given convenient location for us and really nice offices that display professionalism and attention to detail. Everything went well, especially their commitment to technology and handling all forms, communications and appointments online. That said, I confess, being new to the realm of orthodontics, I suffered from a case of sticker shock when I learned that treating my son would run at least $6K no matter how you slice it. Given how modern and upscale their offices are, I thought maybe Cooper was the "Lexus of Orthodontists" and I a cannot afford luxury items, so I shopped around. Turned out to be a complete waste of time. It turns out that Cooper is indeed the Lexus in terms of quality and service, but not price. They are entirely in line with the market and quite a bit less expensive that other providers (e.g. Hall - yikes). Furthermore, they were entirely flexible on my payment plan, setting up something entirely outside of their normal contract options to enable me to take maximum advantage of my medical coverage (minimal, but important) and my flexible spending account. The staff (Megan is my new best friend) are all professional and friendly, the appointments are on-time and quick, and, believe it or not, they have delicious cookies and candy in the waiting area (this sold my son from visit 1).
