Being a club member has its perks both good and bad. This 5 star visit was made possible because of server, Kristin/ Kristy. We reserved a late lunch for our group of 4 people. As always, the food is delicious. I enjoyed my all time favorite Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps, listed as an appetizer but I eat it as a meal. The various sauces and toppings really make this a meal for two or a takeout option for leftovers. Everyone else in the group enjoyed the flatbreads, burgers, sandwiches and salads. The star of the show was our server in the dining room. She provided us tastings, made sure our beverage glasses were refilled and enlightened us with our free glasses of wine. BLUF: With the exception of the hostesses, service was good. Slow but good. Food was ok & pricey for small portions & meh quality. Nice, roomy restaurant which never came close to filling up on a Saturday lunch. Booze was tasty but lotsa ice. Kids meals were likely the best deal. Seemed like they were really short staffed which made table service rather slow. Hostesses weren't very welcoming nor that helpful. Kinda just stood around chatting until they were required to act when customers walked up to them to get help. Kitchen staff was hopping! But. The food. Um. Not yum. But not entirely horrible either. Seemed like a lot of stuff was from the night before. Warmed over yet not hot nor warm by the time it got to the table. Stuff under the heat lamp too long got over cooked while the stuff underneath the overcooked stuff was lukewarm to cold. Would think one couldn't mess up donuts, but these were fried in old oil (probably from the night before since we arrived at opening). Blobs of bland dough that were really dark on the outside but gooey, mushy, and not thoroughly cooked on the inside. That bitter taste from old oil really ruined any hope of enjoying what sounded delish on the menu. The donuts were rather disgusting. In general, the food just didn't taste really fresh or mouthwatering. Salty, maybe. From the bread to the entrees, most everything fell flat. An expensive flat. Worth the drive? Overall, while we had good service minus the hostesses, the food & value just doesn't warrant giving it another shot, which is disappointing. We came for wine tasting, which was fairly priced for the amount given, and had a pleasant experience! There are a few tastings to choose from. We chose the Variety Tasting which included more reds and two fruity non-alcohol options. Leslie who was behind the bar helping us was excellent! Her experience shows through her knowledge as she walked us through the various wines & answered our questions. I felt like she really listened and catered the whole experience towards our preferences! The wine tasting bar area is standing only with no stools so that was the only downside in my opinion. We ended up signing up for their Wine Club (2 bottles/ month option), as the price of the wine tasting almost equated to that price. We decided it was a good deal, as our wine tasting ended up being free and we received 2 bottles and 2 wine glasses. My boyfriend has been here for their food and shared it was good. Family went here after a graduation. The atmosphere had a good vibe with music at good volume and service was good for our party of 9. The calamari was not great, as it was too hard, not sure if it was frozen. My meal was blackened Mahi and salad which was good. The biggest disappointment for my relative was the spaghetti and meatballs, as the meatballs were mushy and barely any sauce on pasta. This is a place I go to often, and there is always something that could be better. I wanted to try their brunch and wasn't pleased with the selection. The steak and eggs sounded like a good idea and we'd start with the caramel donuts. Everything tasted pretty good, but the eggs were on the cold side and the streak was not done. I was already disappointed with the time it took to get our order in (those seated after us were taken care of ahead of us - two tables if not three) and to get our food, so I didn't want to return anything to the kitchen. I recommend trying the Scarletto wine as it was very good. The mimosas are good as well and at $5 each during brunch, that's a good deal. We are wine club members. We regularly wine and dine here. The bar is our go-to hang out. We have had too many bad experiences in the dining room. BUT the bar is great. Sitting at the bar makes for a good experience. We enjoy wine and bourbon. Their cocktails are also a good option. The best part of dining in the bar is the staff. Several of the staff are regular. Very solid place for dinner. I got a non alcoholic wine and a non alcoholic cocktail both were really enjoyable. The seating is comfortable and the service was fast and friendly. I liked that they had healthy options on the menu under a special section it made selecting what to eat easy. My friends and I also split the Brussel sprouts which were at 10/10! We also got the chocolate cake and bruschetta. I ordered the Parmesan crusted chicken off the healthy menu and it was really good! A bit soupy but still good. We've dined here many times over the past five years. It's a popular place and the food is good and reasonably priced; membership in the wine club brings some nice extra perks. The only downside of the restaurant, besides being quite impersonal, is that it is very noisy. It is not somewhere you want to go for a nice, quiet romantic meal. It's more suitable for raucous millennial office parties and loud girlfriends get togethers. The service is professional but robotic. That said, it's definitely worth a try. read more

I love Cooper's Hawk. I was a former member when I was working in Orlando. However, my experience in this tasting room was extremely disappointing. I ordered the monthly flight. However, the patrons around me received a completely different service experience. They were offered additional pours, recommended modifications, and advised on more preferred selections. Other customers even noticed the difference in level of service and suggested that I ask for some of the modifications they received, but at this point I was uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I had a reservation so I did stay in the establishment for that. The tabled bar service was ok. The service was inattentive at times. I definitely would not return to this location. You have poor service, extremely poor food quality, poor food presentation, and prices that do not reflect such lack of quality. 3 out of 4 plates came out wrong/missing items, and 2 were so bad they had to be re-done. After a long day, my husband and I wanted to try the Cooper's Hawk in our community. We made reservations, as it was strongly suggested on a Saturday evening. We arrived a bit early, but were seated rather quickly in the bar area. The football games were on the televisions, the atmosphere was pleasant and our waiter was everything you didn't know you needed. He was warm, comical and very knowledgeable of the menu. He recommended some options, which we really enjoyed. At the end of our dinner he gifted us with a dessert, welcoming us to the neighborhood. This feedback is focused on service only. I don't generally leave negative reviews unless something was significantly wrong. It took 20 minutes to receive our drinks (we only ordered ice teas), then another 20 minutes to receive our appetizers, and then another 20 minutes to receive our entrees, only after we followed up. Keep in mind we were out a party of 2 sitting in the bar area. According to our server the kitchen was "slammed". I appreciate Mother's Day weekend is hectic but I would expect an established place like this would have it figured out. I asked to speak to the manager. Our server tried to get her to come to our table, supposedly, but she never came. This speaks volumes at how they handle issues and the value they place on their customers. Came here with the kids for dinner on a Friday night. The parking lot was packed so we ended up having to park rather far away- and snow removal in these lots was not great. Luckily we had a reservation and were seated quickly. Our server was excellent the entire meal, as were the other staff who came around and checked in on us. The bread is always a highlight- we went through a loaf and a half of the pretzel bread. The food is usually fairly good. The brussels sprouts are delicious with the cashews. This place was packed, and it's no wonder why. The bar area was especially difficult to wade through to get to the host station. We were on the early side for dinner, but it quickly filled in. I love the pretzel bread with the soft butter. The surf and turf options allows for a choice from 3 from each column, so you really can get the exact right dish you want. The scallops gratin is so buttery with a great crust on top. The churrasco steak was tender and juicy. The smores budino is a truly special way to finish off the meal. With layers of toasted marshmallow, rich chocolate pudding, and finely ground graham cracker crust was an elevated experience of the childhood smores treat. I went to this location for brunch. It wasn't packed at all. The service was a little slow but the waiter was very friendly. The food came out hot, the portion sizes were good, and it was seasoned very well. The only downside about the brunch menu is it's mostly an a la carte menu. I'm very happy that we decided to give another chance to this restaurant. Everything was great,I was vey impressed by their wine list,so many rare to see options of wines. I tried ahi tuna entree,with sticky rice and yummy Asian Cole slaw,was very tasty,especially two types of sauces they offered to compliment tuna. I want to start off by saying what a great experience! Last night we went for my mother's birthday! And what a great overall experience we had! We made reservations but arrived an hour early as my family is members at Cooper's Hawk which allowed us to do the tasting for my family. (TLDR (to long don't read) they offer monthly memberships for free wine tastings, discounts, and bottles, depending on the level of membership) So we had the opportunity to sample eight wines! It was a great time as the server was very friendly and informative of all the wines that we sampled! Following that we had a reservations for dinner an hour later (but cut it close with all the fun we were having with other patrons and amongst ourselves at the wine tasting) we got 2 appetizers and 5 different entrees! They were all fantastic and had us asking for more! Some things I want to highlight the server did a great job of speaking to some of their personal favorites and fan favorites on the menu that helped us in our decision making. They also were very accommodating to allergies, with the head chef coming out to ensure that everything was still too perfection! Overall we had a great experience, from the moment we walked through the door, that had us planning our next family gathering at Cooper's Hawk. The one caveat I will add is that they were also very accommodating in conducting a birthday celebration while we were there. We were able to bring in a cake prior to the reservation and the server was able to bring it out, but fun fact the staff is unable to sing so plan accordingly, depending on the type of celebration you want to have! read more

Although they were busy, servers remained attentive with a positive attitude. I was able to try a new wine recommended by the server and loved it so much that I ordered a bottle. I mean, nothing beats Napa and Coopers Hawk isn't really a winery but the concept is perfect! It's a come to you winery. Brilliant concept! A modern, casual dining experience, this owner teamed up with a chef and Master Sommelier to bring us this establishment. First Master Sommeliers are few in the US, last I checked only 149 existed. What this means? You have an expert choosing the best wines for you and bringing the most exquisite wines to you locally. They actually have a wine club, which I was tempted to join. Food is AMAZING! Want to become a wino? This would be the place to start as they have a menu based on your pairing preferences listing a bin number next to your meal. How cool is that? We decided to take a drive out from the city and try out the Ashburn location of Cooper's Hawk. They had a pretty good size tasting room, so we didn't have to wait for a tasting and were able to jump right in, compared to some of the other locations closer to DC. After we went and sat for lunch and I did have a reservation, but it honestly didn't seem like we needed one. We got all our usual Coopers Hawk favorites, and everything was just as delicious as the other locations. If you're ever in the mood to drive further out from the city and slow down a bit, I definitely recommended trying this location. read more

Service and food quality have gone down hill. I have tried twice to give them another chance and it was still a disappointment. The last time we tried, we went at an off hour thinking they could shine but after waiting 20 minutes to be greeted or given menus (while staff were literally just standing around), we left. Coming here on Valentine's Day, I expected it to be busy. But whew, it was overwhelmingly busy! That being said, the staff was still extremely accommodating and they were so kind when we asked to be placed in the main dining room rather than the bar area. This was our 3rd time at Coopers Hawk for Thanksgiving (and probably 8th time overall) and sadly will probably be our last. First 2 thanksgiving visits were outstanding and really good. This time was just ok and there were a couple hiccups along the way. First off, in the past the restaurant was usually decorated very nice for the holidays. Not this time. After checking in with the hostess we were surprised to be told to sit down among large stacks of white cardboard boxes loaded with wine all around the seating area and hostess area. It looked more like a storage facility than a waiting area in a restaurant. Thankfully we didn't wait long to be seated. Our server arrived promptly got our drink and apps order and then disappeared. Drinks came, apps rolled out slowly, 1 at a time from food runners and we still had our menus and hadn't ordered and our table was a bit crowded with apps, bread, drinks and menus Server returned, apologized for delay and took our order, so we thought yay - back on track. If only it was that simple. Refills on drinks were a little slow with empty glasses sitting on table for a bit and dirty/emoty app serving dishes as well as plates stayed on table even as food started to arrive and was served which left zero room at the table. Party of 6 and 5 dinners arrive....minutes go by...missing food person has already stated for everyone to start eating before it gets cold...server comes over to check on us (we had not seen her to flag her down) and realizes food is missing before we say something and disappears...(keep in mind the missing dinner is literally the only person in the group that ordered the thanksgiving turkey meal), so conceivably it should be easy/fast right??? The turkey dinner arrives (server did a good job expediting it once she realized it was missing but we have no idea how the food runners missed it in the first place). Meal issues: surf and turf the salmon and medallions was disappointing in that the medallions were ordered medium and came out more like medium rare/rare. Person who ordered them stated they had a blue hue...that's rare. Two orders of Dana's Parmesan chicken - our go to and favorite meal were noticeably much smaller in size. The chicken was absolutely tiny and the size of the green beans looked more like a side of toothpicks they were so skinny/small and portion was small. We used to always bring leftovers home with that meal but that day there were none. As we were leaving we noticed several open/empty seats and no line to be seated which is a far cry from previous turkey day visits when every seat was booked solid and line of waiting patrons was lengthy.
