First of all this place has so much outdoor seating and is absolutely adorable and family friendly! We came out here to visit our family who also has young kids. I've been coming to this coffee shop for years and have always loved it (fantastic coffee and wonderful food, plus friendly employees) but yesterday's visit was so unpleasant that I walked right back out. As soon as I stepped inside, an employee practically intercepted me with a rude "Can I help you?" and not in a welcoming way, but in a tone that made it clear she didn't want us there. When I said we were dining in, she told us the restaurant was full and that we could sit outside... in 100‑degree weather. The attitude was snotty, dismissive, and completely out of line. We felt like we were being treated as second‑class customers. Not welcoming at all. I'm genuinely disappointed. This used to be one of my favorite spots, but if this is the direction the service is heading, I'm not sure I'll be back. read more

The food was... Ok. the food was WAY more aesthetically pleasing then I had thought,but the Ambiance was great, and same with the service. My main problems are that I had to dig my fingers in my food to remove the shells from the shrimp I got, and my mother (I went here with my family) had gotten gluten free toast, and it was burnt,and was as hard as brick. This place is not the best, but it's not the worst. The toast was $4, and the shrimp and grits was 23$. Thankfully, the manager came out, and sent us off with free toast with jam and butter. TL;DR: Portions are small. The vibe is cute. Food (3/5): I ordered the Farmer's Hash. About 10 minutes later, the server let me know they were out of eggs and asked if I'd be okay with scrambled eggs from a carton. I didn't want anything else on the menu, and some of the other options weren't safe for my allergies, so I said sure. Then, about five minutes after that, she came back and said they'd actually found some eggs. A bit of a rollercoaster. When the dish finally arrived, I couldn't find any bacon, and the corned beef tasted more like ham. The dish fell short of expectations and was ultimately pretty disappointing. The Breakfast Burrito tasted good, but it was very small. The plate looked empty, which made it feel even more underwhelming. At the very least, they could have filled the plate with potatoes or served it on a smaller dish. The pimento cheese with Ritz crackers was a nice touch, though. Service (4/5): A bit disorganized with ingredient availability, but the server did a great job noting my allergies and took that seriously. Cute little place in historic Leesburg. We came for breakfast. Loved the decor, looks like an old time shoe shop. Service was great! Very attentive and it wasn't too crowded as we went when it opened. Three had the Farmers Hash...all said it was delicious and a large portion. I had the PB crunch. I've been here a few times and truly enjoy their breakfast. I typically order the bodega, which is bacon, egg, cheese on your choice of bread, I do a croissant. I also do the frozen chai latte to go. Ventured out to Leesburg to try Shoe's Cup and Cork. The building has been around since 1880's and at one time was the old Leesburg Post Office. More recently it had been a shoe repair shop until converted to this restaurant. We were seated in the upstairs poker room which contained old cameras and televisions. The room was very cool and felt like we stepped back in time. We went over the weekend so the brunch menu was provided to us. We started with the very tasty Onion dip. The dip was great but the sweet potato chips were mostly stale. Only 1out of 5 chips were crunchy. For entrees we ordered the Shoe's Shockingly Good 1/2 pound burger which was very good and the Bodega, which is basically a breakfast sandwich. As breakfast sandwiches go it was average. I would not order it again. The table next to us had steak and eggs and breakfast skillet which looked better than my food. Our waiter was excellent and very accommodating. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and sense of history. If you're in the area give Shoe's Cup and Cork and try. Paid parking is behind the building. read more

I visited this quaint and historic restaurant with my daughter. We at upstairs in the Poker Room and it was if we had stepped back in time. Wood walls and leather chairs. Our server Shane was a hoot! He was very considerate, attentive and helpful with his recommendations and food descriptions. My vanilla latte with oat milk was yum and my salmon bagel was a good portion. I'm not sure that the salmon was super fresh but it was tasty. I especially liked the herb cream cheese. My daughter got the avocado toast wirh fried egg and enjoyed it. Stopped by this spot for brunch and really liked the rustic interiors and well-thought-out decorations--it had a cozy and inviting vibe. Started with drinks: ordered a London Fog, which had a strong English Breakfast tea flavor--just okay, nothing standout. Also tried Campari, but it was way too bitter for my taste and didn't make it past the first sip. For food, we got the Egg Neptune and a Chicken Burrito. Stopped by for lunch on a Friday. They were all booked inside but they had additional seating in the secret garden down the alley way with tents and heaters. The tents were pretty warm throughout lunch, I'm sure it would be great when warm out as well. We ordered the French onion and tomato soup. Both were just okay. The tomato soup we didn't eat much of as the tarragon was very over powering, the Brie BLT was delicious. Prices were reasonable. The wait staff were very attentive. This location is just average so not sure I'd be super eager to come back, but it wasn't too bad! Accessibility: secret garden is accessible though alley way is very narrow. Food is fine, loooong wait Went in for Mother's Day lunch, our server was nice. We kept getting checked on by other staff as well which made it feel like we were constantly being asked things. The real problem is how long it took to get our food. Our server came over, apologized for the wait and offered us refills on our ice tea and sprite, we were then charged for the refills. I'm actually heartbroken to see that my favorite brunch place in the world lost all of its beautiful character in its look and its menu/flavor. I used to come here every Saturday morning, even when moving further away I'd make the 45 minute drive. I used to recommend this place like I breathe. But it's not the quirky spot it once was with a bunch of games, mismatched wood tables and chairs and has sold out and turned into a cookie cutter diner with standard diner square tables and chairs, trendy glasses, new trendy looking bar area, and even the staff now wear button up shirts. I would probably not be so upset if the food quality and menu hadn't changed too. Our favorite items like the chimi benedict, biscuits and jam, mimosa flights are no longer on the menu, some of the remaining items seem like they just aren't made the same or as well like the curry basil fries or bodega. We got the steak and eggs with curry fries subbed, the bodega, and red velvet latte (valentines special). The steak, eggs, and fries were all smushed into a bowl, I had to pull the fries out because they were getting mushy and the steak just couldn't be cut in a bowl lol. The steak was dry, chewy, and didn't have much flavor, the fries were the best part but not quite as good as they used to be when they were tossed in curry basil seasoning versus drizzling a bunch of sauce. That's a totally personal preference though (I got the lemon aioli on the side so I could just dip it). The portion of the fries were also smaller than they used to be. The steak could have used more hollandaise and definitely seasoning. The red velvet latte was so gorgeous I wanted to love it (I love red velvet anything) but unfortunately just tasted like milk with a touch of condensed milk. I subbed oat milk but couldn't believe it was $9 when the check came. My fiance had the bodega which he said was quite dry and lacking flavor. This was a special spot for my fiance and I to celebrate special occasions, so I was ready to rent the garden for a post wedding brunch too, but I just don't think it makes sense for us anymore. I'm so sad to say I'll have to find a new favorite unique breakfast spot. Grabbed lunch today with a friend. I ordered both the tomato soup and grilled cheese. The perfect combo for a chilly day. Unfortunately, you cannot order both together, so I got fries as my side. The soup was not good at all in my opinion. The soup had a very unusual flavor, unlike any tomato soup I have ever had. The grilled cheese was good and so was the service. You have to walk up a steep set of stairs to get to the dining area, at least where we ate. Make sure your guests are capable. It's like an old home. We ate in a room upstairs. The food was fine. Brussels delicious. Benedict could use some salt. Potatoes could use some pepper too. The main issue was the wait. It took at least an hour for our food to come out and we were one of the only ones there so we didn't understand. We had to go to the back to see what was going on several times. Walked around asking my fiancé and son what they wanted... I got the shrimp and grits. I cannot remember the last time I ate shrimp at a restaurant that was so fresh it truly tasted like ocean water. It was AMAZING. My son got the salmon, he's never cleaned his plate and eaten every drop of food that I had to check the to go container to make sure he had actually used the plate cuz he must have licked it clean. My fiance got the Steak Frites - another 5 star review. But while the steak was AMAZING can someone please tell me how they made those fries ? The room was cozy and quaint with interesting vintage items. The Service was attentive and helpful. There is street parking all around downtown Leesburg. Fun Fact: This building was constructed around 1880 and included what is now the Café and the Poker Room. Until the early 1920s, the building was used as the Leesburg Post Office, the town's first telephone office, and even as a new car showroom. The large windows at the front were designed to open to allow cars in and out of the building. read more

Love the mimosa flight and hunter gatherer scramble. Such a cozy place for a winter brunch.

The indoor renovation looks great and while the outdoor option is nice at times, we now prefer indoors which has cool and clever decor. We were impressed by the bartender, Sean, who was friendly and knows how to provide the classic "bartender" experience. The staff seemed like they enjoy their jobs which isn't the case everywhere in Leesburg. They aren't doing too much or too little and it just feels well-run. We'll be stopping in more often. read more

I was vacationing in the area and someone mentioned this place having a secret garden- I was immediately hooked on the idea. Came here without further details and I think I built it up a little too much in my head. It was thrilling to walk through to the secret garden, but once through, it's just some tables. I pictured lots of flowers and vines. Nonetheless, it is a cute patio. Staff are friendly and fantastic. They went above and beyond. I ordered flank steak with roasted potatoes and greens. My friend got a burger and salad. She ordered her burger medium and it came out quite raw. She asked for her burger to be cooked a little longer and the manager brought out a whole new meal and comped it on our check- which we did not ask for or expect. My food was good and steak cooked correctly. I will recommend this place to others and will return in the future if I'm ever in the area again. read more

I've been here a couple of times with my girlfriend. It's a great coffee shop for sure. If you live in or near Leesburg, stop by for a cup of coffee or a chai. I have only gotten coffee from here so I can only speak on that. On this most recent visit I ordered the Cappuccino with Oat Milk and my girlfriend ordered the Chai. Both drinks were delicious! I'd say that the Chai is the best I've tasted. The cappuccino was fresh and extremely flavorful. I love when coffee has that fresh roasted flavor. The service started with a hiccup but picked up. The host was trying to work the computer to take our order since they only had one guy in the coffee section. I'm not sure if they have a staffing issue but it was not a great start. Thankfully the man making the coffee sorted it out and got our orders in. He was working hard so we were patient while he got to our order. I wish I had gotten his name to give him a shoutout. The ambiance in here is small coffee shop feeling. But they also have an outdoor area where you can sit and eat if you're getting food. There's limited indoor seating as well. They've made some changes to their menu. I miss the biscuits, but like the new Eggs Benedict. The black raspberry mimosas are amazing as is their chair tea latte. An old staple in Leesburg, this is a favorite for coffee and brunch which has a colonial feel to it with the furniture and designs inside. While it's a popular spot in Leesburg, I'm one of the few who finds it average at best. The biscuits here are ok; goes well with the homemade jam and butter that come with it when you order the biscuit basket. However, I suggest Buford's Biscuits nearby if you want a good biscuit, either by itself or as a concoction. As for other dishes, only item I've ordered is the avocado, egg & cheese sandwich on the muffin which comes with potatoes and side of canteloupe fruit. Some of the potatoes were tasty although some were missing seasoning. Same with the sandwich as it tasted like it could use seasoning and spices. If it wasn't for the avocado, it'd be as bland as a creed album. I'd be open to trying other items here since some of the other dishes (i.e. bagel snadiwches, hunters scramble, smoked salmon plate) were being raved about from others. While there's outside seating, the tables and chairs are small and can barely fit cups and entree plates for a couple. So if you decide to enjoy the nice weather dining outside, be prepared for a tight dining setting. read more

Wow. What a difference. This place was amazing the last couple times we went I believe in the summer of 2024 and prior. It has completed changed for the worse. Decor has changed, and reminded us of cookie cutter Italian restaurants. Portions are much smaller. Prices seemed higher. Food quality also seemed lower. They changed the seating inside I guess to pack people in instead of the comfy wood tables there are now cold granite two tops. I used to get the gatherer scramble and it came loaded with veggies and filled the whole plate. Just went this morning. It was served in a small skillet on top of a plate. There was not even a semi full piece of a vegetable. There was zucchini skin and what appeared to be a piece of mushroom, possibly. Tasted fine to me but I'm not picky. My wife ordered an English muffin and it appeared to have been laid on a grill for approx 30 seconds. So it had char makes on one side but was cold on the other. Like the feel of touching one straight out of a fridge. Potatoes were good. Crispy and salty. Paid 60$ for two scrambles (one add side potatos) and two oat milk lattes with a flavor. Server was friendly. The lattes were laughably small for 8$+ each, served in what resembled IHOP diner mugs. Maybe go to Cowbell Kitchen instead across the street. read more

What has happened to Shoes? It used to be one of my favorite places to eat. The quality of the food is good but the quantity is pathetic (see picture). If this quiche was designed as an appetizer ( it was tiny) then it should have been an appetizer price. It was $16, the price I expected for a lunch time entree, but pitifully small to be considered an entree. There were three desserts offered on the menu,( two if you take into account that one was ice cream and one was affogato).The other option was bread and butter pudding , which we both ordered, as we were still hungry. The bread and butter pudding was not on. As it was the only dessert available that needed cooking or preparing, I would have thought they could have made the effort to have it available.
