Went there yesterday to get a bracelet my granddaughter made for me re-strung. It has a lot of sentimental value! I had to ring the bell to enter, the woman who opened it was obviously eating lunch in the back, as she came out picking food out of her teeth. I use a cane and was apparently not moving fast enough for her, while I was navigating the 50 ft to the counter, she was loudly asking what I needed. I said I have a bracelet in a baggie, and I will show you when I get to the counter. She madly looked at my bag, & said I don't think we can help you. We only re-string gold & silver. I told her I had a few referrals from Nextdoor, that had gotten beads re-strung in her shop. Without opening my bag, she said we charge $8/inch! Obviously my granddaughter 's bracelet was not worth the $100 re-string charge. I said obviously y'all don't need any new customers! I've done business with this place for years im from Winchester I've been scrapping gold for years , bought wedding rings, even had my mothers diamond reset I've literally done business here for 20 years! but that woman who chain smokes is the most nasty, cantankerous, rotten employee. Went in to look at engagement rings. There was a man already looking at them so I walked around the store for about 30 minutes to give him space. Once he left, I walked over to look at them. The lady who was going out of her way to sell that man a ring walked away as soon as I came to the counter and started helping another man with the engagement rings. Do I have to be a man to get service in this place? Do they feel that women can't buy their own things? Not one word did she say to me. She didn't even offer to get a ring out or even say hello. Do not under any circumstances give this place your business. They ruined my wedding band. I specifically asked that they not resize it if the they though they'd damage it or alter the design. It doesn't even look like the same ring, it's damaged beyond repair with scraps of metal literally hanging off of it. What fantastic service! My center stone was loose and the prongs needed to be adjusted. They assured me that they felt they could do it without chipping the stone, but did make sure I understood that there was a chance that could happen. They wanted to make sure the ring was insured before they worked on it. They said it would take 3 weeks to do the job and it was done in 2.5 weeks. They did a great job with no issues. I took a 2 carat 14 yellow gold ring with 5 marquee cut diamonds in it. It has an appraisal for $4050 and as they state they buy jewelry. Gave it to a man to look at and he told the sales lady there "she probably bought it in the Carribbeans" he gave it back to the sales lady and she said they would buy it from me for $200. I was totally shocked at his attitude and also the price he would pay me for it. I will never step in that store again and sure won't refer them to any friends read more

On 1/8/16 I wrote on YELP rating this Company a 1 and believe me, that was pushing it. This is what I wrote: "This is new to me to post anything negative about a business, but I feel so compelled because what happened to me is so wrong. Here's my story.... My wedding ring was taken to Coopers Jewelers on or around 9/24/15 for repair. The ring is designed with the 3/4 Carat stone in the center, and 3 smaller diamonds on each side. One of the smaller diamonds fell out - which is what was being replaced. I picked up the ring on 11/14 and on 11/27, I discovered that the 3/4 carat diamond fell out of my ring. I went back to the Jeweler (Mark Cooper) and he suggested that I contact my Homeowners Insurance because sometimes they'll cover damages. He provided me with a cost estimate to replace the diamond which is $1900 for the diamond (his wholesale cost) and $100 to replace the 6 prongs that secured the ¾ carat diamond. He stated that if they didn't cover it, to let him know and he'll see what he could do to work things out. In checking with my Insurance Agent, I was informed that the ring would not be covered because it had not been added to the policy. I went back to speak with Mr. Cooper and he's not owning responsibility for mishandling my ring nor did he offer to help out in any way as he previously stated he would. He stated that he replaced the smaller diamond, and not the large one and that he's not at fault. I also pointed out that after the loss of the larger diamond that it became more evident that the diamond he replaced was much smaller than the others. His comment was, "well, I can replace it again, however, that's like putting the cart before the horse since you no longer have the large center diamond any more". He refused to own any responsibility. I told him that I disagreed, that I never had any issues with the diamond and that it wasn't until he handled my ring did this occur." I reported this Company to the Better Business Bureau and they have written to Cooper's Jewelers on 2 separate occasions and have not received a response. (Another example of their dishonest ways and their alleged impeccable customer service they claim to have.) BBB stated that they were sending them a final notice on 2/11. I'll keep you updated if I hear anything more from them as it doesn't appear that I'll hear anything from Cooper's. I don't know what to think. It has always been our choice for a jewelry store but now I have to rethink that. I left a ring there to be appraised and was told it would be a week. Three weeks later I called to find out where it was. The owner was nice about forgetting it so that didn't really bother me. The problem came when I read the appraisal. I had had the ring appraised at the same store about 10 years ago. At the time it was almost one carat and a K color worth 4,500. This appraisal said it was 1/3 of a carat, a I-J color and work 1,500. Hmm..... what should I think? Was the diamond switched or was my ring confused with another one? My appraisal was done incorrectly so I returned it to them with detail information on what the insurance company needed on it. It took 4 weeks before they can get it, the response everything I stopped by was "it's not ready", even though the staff will tell me to come on a particular day and I will go 2 - 3 days later still "not ready". I understand they might be busy, but yelling to me "it's not ready" from the back room tipped it for me. After my 3rd visit, I decided I wanted to just get a timeline of when it will be done from Mr Cooper himself. I got there with Mr. Cooper present and the same staff that had been telling me it's not ready typed it up and gave it to him to sign. It took less than 5 mins to complete, even though they still messed it up and I had them correct it. But I have to wait 28 days for it. read more

Within the last two weeks, I have been in this business twice. Both times, the employees acted like they were doing me a favor. The man who wears all of the rings was rude and dismissive, and today an older woman complained that she could not change my watch battery because she has arthritis. I have been taking my (expensive) watches to this place for seven years for battery replacements. When I commented that I had never been charged that much before, that is when the woman bit my head off. Most recently I took a men's sterling silver bracelet into the store because [I thought] the clasp had broken and requested that it be replaced. It turned out that the clasp was bent and was therefore able to be repaired ... and at no cost to me. Very impressed! read more
