First off my kids team won every single game. The umps are fair and consistent. The food is phenomenal at dreams park. It's very fairly priced especially the water bottles . It's not like they charge you 3 dollars for a banana or something which I really appreciated after spend thousands of dollars on this trip. Don't worry about the rain because they have great plans in place and delays and cancellations are basically non existent. Traffic is not an issue . After opening ceremony I just cruised out of the facility's which I loved , no waiting without moving a single inch for over an hour, just smooth sailing thanks to the helpful staff directing traffic . My son said the food they served him was like eating at a Gordan Ramsay restaurant. The eggs were not powdery or watery , they were fluffy and fresh made from cage free eggs. Which was cool considering how expensive this trip was . My son said he ample time to use the showers with no crowds and all the batting cages were utilized on a first come , first use system with no time limit for a team . The people giving this place 5 stars are funny. But I get it, it's their Disneyland, so to speak. I'm not one of those people that spends 3k and has to defend something to the death. Let's be real, it's like an old wooden amusement park rollercoaster that they keep slapping paint on to make it look new but you can tell it was there when the park opened. The fields are nice but definitely get chewed up by the end. The spectator areas aren't the best and all the wooden fencing surrounding the fields make it like a hot box with no air flow. You can't watch from any vantage point other than inside the field which is tough when you have other kids with you that maybe want to be outside playing and running around. Add some chain link fencing in the outfield. Watching from out there is so fun because it's only 200 feet! If it rains you have to crowd under one small area that is covered or make sure you have an umbrella and ponchos! You "can't bring in any outside food" but they don't really enforce it because I think they realize they charge a lot for gross, overpriced food at their concession stands. A salad (without protein) cost $10 but a burger was $8. Made no sense. The parking is a nightmare, especially the first day for opening ceremony, which I get, but what makes it worse are how the parking attendants speak to the people. I got yelled at and spoken down to on multiple occasions for simply stopping to ask questions about parking. They have an area for kids to check out but it says "no drop off and pick up" for cars, so cars get backed up. It's one way in and one way out so you can't drive around even looking for a spot up and down aisles. It's so dumb. All week I had people asking if they could watch the games and I said no, only to get home to find out they record ALL the games and you can now purchase them for $40 each, and all the photos they took too. It's just a slap in the face after all the money you paid to go to this place to find out the add ons you can purchase after the fact. There are no locks on the bunk houses despite people reporting rampant theft over the years. Maybe just put a lock on them and allow the coaches to lock their bunks as they see fit, problem solved. Just make sure to lock all your stuff up at all times! The bathrooms all over weren't very clean by the end so I can't imagine the boy's and coaches bathrooms and showers. My husband said by the end they were pretty dirty. There are some teams that go there to just win (literally fly kids in for the final games), so they just hit home run after home run which ruins it for the teams they play. We didn't play any of them but I feel bad for the teams that did. Some positives: pin trading is fun, very patriotic, games are organized and move along nicely, umps were nice and calls seemed fair (only some were questionable or they had to clarify the rules), uniforms kits were nice, grounds were clean and families seemed nice for the most part. read more

Son's Review = 4 (The Ugly - the bathrooms by the end; the Bad - the food; the Good - everything else. My Review = 4 - The Ugly: Exiting Dreams Park after the Opening Ceremony and skills competition. This is the one time where everybody is there at the same time, and all leaving basically at the same time. Dreams Park should either bring in off-duty officers for traffic control and/or open up service entrances to exit. - The Bad: Concession pricing. It is all overpriced ($3 for a banana), to expansive for how much you get, or just tastes bad. No Drinking Fountains. The dugouts have them but the water flow is so low you basically have to kiss the dispenser to drink the water. Also, there are no drinking fountains anywhere that I saw for spectators. - The Good: Everything else. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The fields are in great condition. Also, since you are basically enclosed in the field there are great echos--and when a kid hits a home run it sounds awesome. Most fields are surrounded by hill so you can watch them from the outfield if you don't want to stay in the parent "dugout". The cost of the team photo package (approx. $104/player on our team) was well worth it. The cost to engrave balls & bats was also fair. Overall the facility has a great nostalgia vibe. Sponsor signage is limited to one small outside sign per field. Coaching Tips - Home Runs: probably a combination of 200' fields, minimal pitchers mounds, and Dreams Park supplies their own balls, Home Runs are the norm. You need at least a 5 run lead to feel a little comfortable - Defense: You do not want runners on base. When a home run comes you want the damage to be limited to just one run and not 3. Encourage you players to chase foul balls; practice double plays and baseball IQ scenarios, have your outfield 5-10' off the back wall--if it goes over their heads it's either a home run or bouncing off the wall and coming back to them - Offense: If it is not a home run it's a single unless the hit hugs the foul line. For the most part passed balls and wild pitches bounce back to the catcher so it is very difficult to steal home w/ a runner on 3rd. Remind your big hitters not to be a hero, and swing like normal--the home run(s) will come. Your players that are almost there in getting a home run in regular little league or tournament play will most likely get home runs here. - Know the Cooperstown specific rules. Something weird happened w/ a catcher interference call and balk call at the same time which after a rules review overturned a run scored by the opposing team. On the flip side at a later game the opposing coach forgot a team is allowed one "mulligan" balk call per game and our runners advanced on a first balk call. Parent Tips - Have the parents doing the play book, GameChanger, and highlights sheet sit next to each other because they will need each other's help - We made a swag bag of a lot of the checklist item that a few of the parents who drove up brought with them (i.e. towels, bed sheets, pillow covers, deodorant, games, etc.) - One of the dads volunteered to be a dugout dad and he took care of getting the ice, laundry service, and misc. small things for the coaches so the coaches could focus on the kids. The dugout dad did not spend the night. - The larger restaurants in the area can handle a party of 50 or 70. We met together for lunch before registration in order to all come into together. - We setup a sign-up genie to volunteer supply water, sport drinks, etc. for the boys and coaches. There are two Wal-Marts nearby and I picked up my items on the way into town. - Bring water and food for yourself and family. Though you see many signs saying you cannot bring outside food & drink I never saw it enforced, and if they do you can leave it in the car and go there when you need it. - If you have no one that is experienced with the playbook, I would recommend some people practice it with a recorded game on GameChanger, or follow allow with a live game. - The Closing Ceremony is not from 6-9, but 6 to 6:40. You have time to go some place for dinner. - Remind your player to flush and lift the toilet seat up if all they're doing is peeing. My son's take-away for others is go to the bathrooms before 7am because you never know what you're going to get after. As for me, I used a single person bathroom after a player came out and the toilet wasn't flushed, there was pee all over the seat, and I had to clean it up. read more

There are a lot of things to knitpick about the place but overall the tournament was a great experience for our kids. There are issues with parking and coordinating drop off and pick up but overall it went smoothly if you're patient. The tournament itself was just ok. There are a lot of select teams that are really good. I feel like they should either have designated weeks for levels Select, A, B, and C teams or at least run 3-4 separate brackets after pool play and have winners from each group. I get it's somewhat difficult to know in advance how good teams are, but the tournament is so popular they could set up competitive parameters and it would still fill up. If a program continuously signed up for a level lower than their ability to chase trophies, they should get banned for a couple years. Getting a suspension would be a disaster for programs and It would incentivize program directors/coaches to be honest in their appraisals and it result in a better competitive balance and experience every week. read more

It's a nice park. Very well taken care off, the fields are in good condition. The grounds crew does a good job up keeping the fields even I wet and rainy conditions. The parking lot is kind of a mess, fills up quick, tight spots and easy for someone to hit your rental car. The concessions stands are nothing spectacular, prices are definitely steep. The fields all have boards around the entire field and you can only watch from the selected spectator area, making it hard to watch any other game or any of the skills competitions. This place should be called dreams killer park. It was very clear from our first game that there was no fun allowed. We are a group of parents who cheer for our kids, respectfully - we don't yell while the pitcher is set and throwing, but we got literally yelled at if we were even just talking while the pitcher was on the mound (not even getting set to pitch). The. umpires were rude, and repeatedly shushed us (and children) for talking with each other from our seats....The food gave several teams diarrhea; it was so inedible that our boys had to sneak breakfast lunch and dinner in from outside places. The bathroom garbages were overflowing, and the snack stand food was disgusting and overpriced. I've never experienced such nasty, miserable people in my life. The staff were yelling at parents constantly, and yelling at kids for so much as leaning on a fence. For a place that makes millions of dollars each week, there are several things they need to upgrade. This place is actual garbage, go to all star village instead. read more

Three games into our Cooperstown experience and my overarching takeaway thus far has been how bad the officiating is. Cooperstown's draconian rules against arguing with umps give them absolute power with threat of banning your coach from the tournament. A ball that was hit over the right field fence, but was at least four feet outside the foul pole and yet still ruled a home run. A runner tagged in a pickle and running outside the basepath called safe. A pop fly and force on the failed tag up that was then ruled a balk after the play. The pop fly stood, but the base runner was restored on first base.... It just makes no sense. I have never seen such consistently horrible officiating at any tournament and this is supposed to be a professionally run premier baseball experience. Extremely disappointing. Spent a weekend here and had a mixed experience. First the fields are incredibly scaled down, 200 feet to the back fence. The conditions were hit and miss. The opening ceremony ran almost 2.5 hours....could easily be cut to one hour. The sound system was a mess, in and out of working on ceremony day. Typical overpriced concessions. The place for spectators to sit and watch the games are pathetic. For what the teams and families pay to be there, you'd think they had something better than cheap plastic chairs. Parking at opening ceremony is a nightmare. Plan on getting there well over an hour before the opening ceremony if you want a halfway decent parking spot and seat in the stadium. The parking lot is a mess in general though. Came out after a game and someone had hit and run our rental car, damaging the back. The umpires here are hit and miss, very inconsistent. I think it can be a good experience, but there is several areas for room for improvement. read more

We arrived to dream's park we got our truck checked in they put there parking pass on our back window and off to drop our boy at his bunk's. The bunks have no ac in dreams park so get some mini fans and I recommend to buy 4 floor fans as a team and I recommend having a big cooler to keep water and Gatorade cold. They sell ice on property I believe $1.50 a bag. For the bunk we got a sleeping bag and a pillow but we suggest buying a cheap twin bed sheet and pillow case. The fields are beautiful and they boys love every moment. The workers are really nice. If you need help taking things from your car to the bunks you can ask for a gold cart driver and they help you. We had a great time and if your son hits a dinger you can go grab the ball and get it engraved on property for $10 bucks. Like my son says living the dream read more

Cool venue and a great tournament. Overall a nice experience for us and especially for our son and his team. However: one BIG word of caution about photos. Like us, you might want to order some photos to commemorate the event (for example, if your son hits a home run). Most of ours turned out great, but one was blurry. They are blurred on the website, which I understand, because people would just take screenshots. HOWEVER, if you buy a photo that turns out to be blurry after printing, you're screwed. The staff will not replace any photos. I spent a lot of money in this place, and they would not help me. They just said, you can buy another photo and we'll replace the one in the plaque you already bought. So basically, I'd be out another $30 because their photo was blurry and I had no way of knowing it. Buyer beware. This stuff is expensive and you might unknowingly pick a blurry photo. And if you get unlucky like that, they don't care. They were not interested in helping their customer, only in trying to wring more money out of me. Maybe my expectations were too high but I thought the facility is ok at best. The fields are set up like a recess area for a jail. It's stuffy in all the dug outs and the spectator seating is horrendous. You have to sit on plastic stackable outdoor chairs. There are mice all around bc they have nested in the wood walls on the fields. The wood is peeling and rotting from weather. The bunks do not look so bad but the boys complain about toilets. The home run derby was another disappointment. They use a pitching machine that wasn't adjusted and make them use the same crappy bat. I watched about 30 kids that were entered by their coaches for a reason, not hit a single ball. Something wrong there? Let's talk umpires. Well, there are no words. They called strikes for balls thrown like it was tennis. 1700 dollars for the boys and they also ate disgusting food. I totally recommend Ripken over Cooperstown anytime. I don't care how popular it is. Aug. 18. Still here and have another complaint. Our final game, the bat from our opposing team appeared to be shaved. Every child on the team passed that bat to each other. Every single child used the bat. When brought to the umpires attention, he said "I can't check it". Nice. I'll start by saying this - my son and his teammates had a blast. However, they always have a blast when they leave home for a tournament. This is not worth the 24k it takes to register a team to play. Here's the reality: -fields are built for t-ball aged kids, so scores are ridiculous. -teams using shaved/modified bats, as the park has no bat rules. Pathetic. -food/bathrooms/no AC in barracks is a disgrace with the amount of money paid to play there -spectating area for games is terrible This should be a wood bat tournament with the dimensions of these fields to make it more realistic. Baseball scores are not usually 27-20. This tournament is a moneygrab, nothing else. read more

Cooperstown NIGHTMARE park! This place is awful! First let me say this is NOT the place you want to come for an actual baseball experience. AWFUL fields, AWFUL parent viewing area and AWFUL park! Let's start with the amount of money you pay to come here... over 25k for a team for. Nothing but headaches! Kids sleep in either hotter than hell bunks or it's freezing cold. Fields are meant for 10u players, umpires that don't care what they call because parents aren't allowed to say one negative word or your team will be penalized games. We had a kid get punched on first base and when parents and coaches said something we were told we would be kicked out if we said another word! For a place that boasts about being true to the "old" sport, they have it very wrong! Weather is so up and down and the fabulous grounds staff they speak of during the longest opening ceremonies ever is literally no where to be found! We played 4 innings in the worst rain ever with water standing on fields just to be delayed at the top of 5th. After waiting around they canceled everything and the next morning fields were still in the same condition. Every field has tall green walls surrounding the entire field with only one long area down first and third base line to watch games. Parents can't see anything! Part of the area is caged so it's like jail but they do put dollar general plastic broken chairs to sit in if you want. We couldn't see our kids bat the entire time. A family ended up purchasing their video package to try and see the game! Absurd! Food for kids is beyond terrible! We heard stories of kids getting sick from it. Concessions is no better and very expensive! Lots of stealing going on here and no one cares! Kids gloves were stolen along with other baseball items and literally they could care less! They have SO many rules for players that it's just ridiculous. They can't do anything without the threat of game suspensions. Kids can't walk around without a coach and if their shirt is untucked--game suspension! We have played at much better facilities for far less money! PLEASE go somewhere else!! If I could choose fewer than 1 star I would. Terrible experience. Complete money grab, I suggest you go anywhere else. 1. They have a specific weekly shirt for the teams that play that week, I tried to pre-order our shirt for June in early May and was not able to. Friday check in day I went to retail, and they said we needed to order the shirt through the QR code. They charged me $24 for the T-Shirt and $19.02 for shipping, when I brought this to the manager at the retail store I was told, it's UPS and we can't do anything. I sent an email to corporate office, and they can refund the shipping. 2. We were there a week when the high was only 67 degrees, so our boys were either freezing because to get air in bunk house the windows were open or closed and suffocating with no air flow. I do feel terrible for anyone that goes when it's hot. 3. The food? I think prison food is better. The concessions did not provide anything better. Terrible food and overpriced, $3.50 for a bag of chips, not a party size bag and snack size bag. 4. Customer Service, NOPE you can tell they know they have you because you can't go anywhere else and that is exactly how they treat you. 5. Opening Ceremonies were cheesy, did not start even close to on time. The men with the microphones obviously like listening to their own voices. It lasted an hour longer than need be. 6. The showers and bathrooms for players are disgusting so make sure you bring shower shoes and swim trunks to shower. I was told 2nd hand that two 12-year boys were caught full on making out in the showers. Where was their coach? 7. The teams are NOT matched up evenly, there is nothing to stop a coach from putting together a group of 12-year-old Majors players to win the whole tournament. We saw players coming in on Monday to join teams after pool play. They make your team play until the end of the 4th even when the score is 31-0. It's humiliating for the players. 8. Parent dug out is terrible, so glad I spent that much money to barely even see my son play. read more

"Disneyland for Little Leaguers" about sums it up. My son and I did our week here earlier this summer... him on the team, me as one of the dorm dad assistant coaches. He absolutely loved it and will always remember it. I enjoyed getting to watch him and his friends in the experience. First off i am writing this review as a parent and coach. 1. Barracks- no a.c., if it is a HOT week you are in trouble. Fans don't do anything when it's near 80 @ night. It happens. 2. The food. Is it food? I will attach a picture. Think school lunch pushed down a notch or 3. The only decent meal was lunch - good cold cuts. 3. Fields are ok, nothing amazing. Baseball heaven and diamond nation are better. Dirt patches in field, turf too close to field of play, ect. 4. Batting cages are terrible. Picture attached. For the 1.5 million or so they make JUST in registration, they should be embarrassed. 5. Concession stands- how they further rip off kids looking for a better breakfast or dinner. 6. Golf carts run through the facility with reckless abandon! 2 parents from my team were struck by carts. Out of control! I gave 3 stars because my son had a good time playing baseball. My son's baseball team played here for a week in August. It costs about $900 to play ball here but includes bunk bed lodging, 2 sets of uniforms, school lunch type meals, baseball caps, baseball cards and a class ring. They also received free admission and shuttle to Baseball Hall of Fame museum in Cooperstown. Now you are part of the National Youth Hall of Fame for baseball. Our team played 8 games this week and won one game. The competition is high as there are elite baseball clubs from all over US that come here. My son did hit 3 home runs this week over the 200 foot fences. Pros: free parking and admission, golf cart shuttle if you are too tired to walk, concessions were reasonably priced and the gift shop. Kids enjoyed pin trading. Cons: opening ceremony was too long and boring, closing ceremony also, spectator seating was along 1st base or third baseline and you had to stack these plastic chairs up like barstools or stand to see, fake ugly geranium hanging baskets were tacky, most food in concessions was microwaved, only one entrance and exit. The kids saw a mouse in field 19 spectator area. They take pictures of kids playing baseball all week but a 4×6 is $8 and there are no specials or deals. Tips: Allow 30 minutes for parking and walking to game. There are 22 fields and 3 parking lots. Get rid of security stop at entrances and exit as it served no purpose other than to slow down cars or add another exit. There were signs for no bringing in food or drink but it wasn't enforced. Just keep your bag from the gift shop all week. Overall my son had a good time. read more

Incredible baseball experience thus far, we are about half way through it. The fields are immaculate and seating for parents is great. Staff is very professional and from the top down there is a very patriotic and old school values system that is appreciated! This is not an inexpensive ordeal, but it so far has been worth it. After being here 4 days I'm even more impressed. This place is like the Disney land of baseball. Staff is very impressive and on the ball. Everything is clean and neat. My younger brother and his team played here in the middle of June. My entire family went on this vacation. The cabins had a baseball player on the outside. My mom, sister, and I stayed down the street at a bed and breakfast. My dad and brother were in the cabin. The atmosphere of CDP brings such a happy vibe. I love the music played around the park. There were concession stands everywhere and the selection was good. The pizza is amazing. CDP was clean and I mean VERY clean. Not once did I see trash on the ground. The fields are nice. If your child has a chance to come here to play baseball for a week, do it. This place runs weekly tournaments through the summer. Teams stay together with their coaches in the barracks. It is a fun camp experience for the kids. The place is run like a well-oiled machine. From dropping off your kids, to the opening and closing ceremonies, the staff has it organized well to accommodate the thousands of people there. The fields are beautiful and small (lots of home runs!). Some of your games will be photographed and, of course, you can purchase live action shots of your son at a hefty price. We lucked out with the weather and only had one rain delay. But they will do their best to get all if the games in - there was a 2am game the week before. Lots of fields are spread out over this facility, but there are plenty of golf carts to shuttle the grandparents to the outlying fields. Obviously, the location also gives baseball fans a chance to see the Hall of Fame. The only negative was the owner. He was pretty egotistical and loved to talk about himself. He went on and on for way too long during the opening ceremony. When he ventured into politics, I was done with him! read more

We had an amazing time, my son loved the experience! Every field is beautifully kept , staff is helpful and nice. I appreciated the golf cart type vehicles used to transport families back and forth in this gigantic park. I absolutely loved that they allowed me to take pictures ,some of which I posted here , and concessions and souvenirs were not as expensive as I thought . If there was one negative thing I could add it's in regards to the players food . It's not enough, all portions are the same no matter how big or small the players are, and if you happen to be playing at the time of a meal, then you miss out , yes even dinner . So eventhough food was included, we still had to buy food for them after a few games so they wouldn't go to bed hungry. Other than that it was amazing ! read more

Absolutely worth the trip to New York. The boys loved it and had a spectacular time. My ONLY conplaint would be the rude, surly kids working in the concession stands. They barely acknowledged the people in line ("Hi, how are you?"). The profanity and rude behavior I observed at most of the concession stands was at the very least, poor customer service skills, and more importantly a display of very poor people skills. There needs to be an adult present in each of these food stands. read more

Cooperstown Dreams Park is absolutely amazing! I had a ton of fun, and I wish I could go back to play. The organization and almost everything the staff does is AMAZING. The only bad thing is the food, but if you bring your own snacks, and have good food, it will be amazing! read more

This place is awesome! If you love baseball and you've never experienced playing here you missed out! Unfortunately I'm a dad that missed out on Cooperstown as a kid. However I still played baseball growing up and I love the game probably just as much as the locals here in the birthplace of baseball! My son didn't actually play here. He was down the street in Allstar Village. However his friend did play here. We came to support him and a few others that we knew on the team. Me and the kids father coached a little league team together and also won a championship together! So it's only right we pull up and support our friends! Also offer our support to baseball players and other people that share the same passion about baseball as we do! It's a Very high competition level style tournament. I'd recommend checking it out if you have a traveling ball club... or if your just a tourist in town for the Hall of Fame. Which is very conveniently located right down the street!
