Despite full medical documentation, Bandon Dunes refused any refund and wouldn't even offer a credit or voucher to reschedule. I expected a resort of this caliber to show some flexibility for a genuine medical emergency -- even a partial credit would have been reasonable. Instead, they kept the full $2,500 and offered nothing in return. I'll be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. If you're planning a trip here, get travel insurance -- their policy offers zero protection for unexpected medical issues, no matter how well documented.

As it was later in the day and we were not intending on playing, we opted to not bother someone who may have been in the back or somewhere on premise. The deck looks like it's seen better days. And I'm not really sure if there's more to the place or not. But it's not a fancy place by any means. We will be back though and I'll update this review. In the meantime, just going to rate what we saw. 4 stars. Would give 5 if the deck around the pro shop looked safer and the shop has better information.

There are some straight fairways and some around the corner pin shots, several water channels and sand traps too look out for. The Greens and Fairways are looking better, with the past few storm's things had to be cut back and cleaned up better. Owners are not always on site, but only 2 min away, as this is a small family-owned course with many things going on, so on slow time they retune when they see you on the camera. parking can just about be anywhere, most park on the outside hill line outside the gate. if you have a few hours of quite time on your hands and you want to play golf this is a good place to play, because there's cell service out there so no one can call you in the middle of your back swing. The last hole coming off is a straight shot to the pin, it's also where me and my buddy have a longest and closets to the pin shots contest .

The course has a really nice layout with some fantastic views, and there were some very fun holes. I'd give the course itself a 4.5/5! The downside to playing here was the service. The lady working the front desk wasn't friendly and wasn't managing the tee times. There was a slight frost delay in the morning, so groups were going out late, but when our twosome went in at our scheduled time to see how much time we had until we teed off, we were told that they weren't basing it on tee times anymore, it was just first-come-first-serve and we should get in line for the tee. The playing experience was slow on the back too--we got stuck behind a sixsome, which the course definitely shouldn't let out. If this course got a starter and a marshall, it's rating would go up. And if the staff members were friendly, Bandon Crossings would have a chance at a 5-star rating.

Michael was friendly and offered some tips on navigating the course. I did not particularly play well here, but I enjoyed my round. There were several blind shots and I got lost once and re-routed myself. The course was in nice condition. My GPS unit was really off on yardages, this is a first. I wondered if perhaps the course was re-done or what.......I guess they'd only revised tee boxes not yardages to greens. Kind of confusing on colors, Whites are forward, teals more middle, blacks further back. Bonus: I saw two deer off the tenth fairway on the right side. They were just peacefully sitting there. I asked if I could play thru. I played from the teal tees as that seemed appropriate. I wish I would have played the Whites (forward tees). All in all, it was a nice time, not too windy. I browsed the pro shop and had a beer at the counter after my round. Nice, cozy little set up to relax inside after golf. Parking lot and course was busy early and then quieted down for the mid-afternoon.
