I purchased what was purported to be a 19th Century Louis XV style ebonized bureau plat of "Fine Condition, Wear Consistent with Age." It was purchased "fully insured". The desk was badly damaged in transit. The insurance carrier has denied the claim as the condition of the desk, as reviewed by their experts, was not in conformance with the representation, having been damaged and significantly repaired over the years. Calls have gone unanswered, so a lawsuit has been filed.
