I only came to this place because one of my vehicles was totaled in an accident and the insurance sold it to this place. I had to go in to pick up the license plates and sign a bunch of paperwork. It was a pretty good drive for me but it's actually not too far from the Florida Mall. It's a little tricky to get in and you definitely want to be careful about parking in the designated areas. When I walked inside there's just a long counter that you go up to and wait for someone to assist you. When I went in there were a couple of people ahead of me and apparently only one person was assisting at the counter. When she got to me she was very friendly and I was finally able to accurately explain what I was doing there. It took a few moments for them to find me in the system and bring up the paperwork as apparently it was a new acquisition. I was giving some paperwork to sign and they had the vehicle brought out front so I could get my stuff out of it. Careful.... Place will try to literally steal your car. Only got paid after having to chase the tow tuck just leaving collision center. Was supposed to get check for the car (guy has no check) had to chase them 20 minutes calling them to get the driver pulled over. Driver gave 3 different locations where we will get the check. Non had it. After 30 minutes of chasing guy down the high way finally pulled over. And magically produced a check. Sketchy and terrifying business. Go else where!!! read more

I have been watching both Copart and IAA for several years now. Researching vehicles being listed that were of interest to me. In the hopes of one day, making a decent purchase. There are several problems that always seem to show up though. These companies claim they do not have mechanics on site to further inspect the vehicles (scapegoat #1). They usually do not take pictures of the vehicle's undercarriage, which is odd and not helpful at all. Sellers have the option to remain hidden until the vehicle is sold, again, very odd if you ask me. When you call to research a vehicle, the rep will usually mention that they are looking at the same information page that I see on my end. You are not allowed to bring any tools of any kind, not even a cheap $5 Bluetooth OBD-II code scanner. When you do find that something is not right with the vehicles info, they are vague about it, as if they could care less. They are quick to point out that this information is provided by the seller (scapegoat#2). If I want to question the seller about a vehicle, they will not allow me to do so. Yet they do not have any additional information that they will share with me. I have been told in the recent past that they are not car dealerships nor are they trying to be like one. Anything will be said to put them in the right. Well, I asked the person on the other end of the phone, if I was personally selling you a car while using these shady tactics, wouldn't you feel as though I was trying to deceive you??? He lowered his guard and completely agreed with me. In my opinion, there should be MUCH more transparency with a given vehicle's history. From the beginning when the insurance company writes off a vehicle, all the way to the insurance auctions! Adjusters reports, shop reports, police reports etc. Any and all information explaining why the vehicle wound up being written off and at the insurance auction, so everything can make sense!!! Why must there be this mystery surrounding most lot numbers!? This needs to stop, these companies are making a King's ransom every month, and the buyers are the ones who suffer... Of course, the insurance companies are in bed with the insurance auctions and most likely some politicians... Why? Do you ask? well, let me explain... I tried to reverse engineer why a vehicle I was interested in, was at the insurance auction. Since the yard wasn't providing what I needed, I contacted the insurance company that wrote the vehicle off. When each rep realized why I was calling, they would transfer me to someone else. This went on with several reps and finally, someone spoke with me. What I noticed is that THEY WILL NOT PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION unless I am the insured. Their reason for this is to protect the insured, of course. I asked the rep, well who's going to protect me and my family when the vehicle I bought from the insurance auction malfunctions on the Turnpike doing 70-80mph?! What happens if a tierod or other steering component is compromised but overlooked. Of course, another (scapegoat#3) is "sold as is", and corporate lawyers should be hung by their heals for stuff like this... I've complained to several different insurance companies about the lack of transparency regarding vehicle history. One rep explained to me that if I want to see change, I need to change the laws. He told me who I need to contact as far as my state representative. So, I researched who that person was and proceeded to contact her. Low and behold, I wound up speaking with her assistant. Unfortunately, she was a closed minded, brainwashed $unt! She explained to me basically that her boss would have no interest in pursuing changing that law/s because the insured needs to be protected. Just like I've done before with the insurance reps, I explained to her that I have no interest in any personal details of the insured. I am only seeking complete transparency with the damage and history of the vehicle... Nothing more... So basically, my cries fell on deaf ears... This is one of the reasons why, when I see a company fall on hard times and eventually fold. I have NO remorse for them, due to their horrible practices! I can go on and on about these two companies, trust me there's more. Though I believe I have said enough, to be helpful... Do your research if you're going to get involved with these shady companies. They are money hungry scoundrels who don't give a damn about you! read more
