Buyer beware! I purchased an auction item online: a lot of books listed including an antique map I've been searching for all over. The map was my whole reason for bidding. I was thrilled to pay the bid + premium to get the sought after map. Because they take no responsibility for long distance customers, I had to contract with an outside shipping company where I paid $25 to mail me 4 oz of "books"(booklets). An additional pain, but worth it to get said coveted map. Not disclosed in the listing was the fact that the map had been torn out of the book- again, my whole reason for purchase. So I spent close to $60 to have someone mail me some trash to throw away. When I contacted the owner, she blamed me, said this was all on me, I should have known to ask questions and for good measure, their company disclaimer is ITS ALL ON YOU, YOU IDIOT CUSTOMER. (Paraphrasing). So be forewarned if you are going to buy something from this company and anything goes wrong- it's all your fault. There will be no apology, no figuring out how to do better next time/ learning from the situation. Just a renewed entitlement to screw over people dumb enough to spend money here. I guess that's just how it is these days. Take no responsibility, blame others for your dishonesty and keep on trucking. Ridiculous people like this don't deserve to have a business! POST SCRIPT: to Mary's response: yep, I lost my temper (and apologized after) after she got shrill because I called her "lady," and said she was going to hang up on me--after not the slightest bit of apology because her company misrepresented what was on offer. I did listen to what she had to say- which again, was all about how anything that went wrong was on me. It's in her official rules of the road. OH, Ok! What a great business model! I have bought quite a few items and never had any issues. Until now. June 5th was my birthday so I remember it white well. The auction house will only respond through you all when I reach out one on one she won't reply so I'm done, she can dispute me all she wants I tried a bunch of times to get in touch. I read your reviews as well, how you won't bend and just stick it to the customers. I will not pay for these items and if it makes it so I cannot bid on this auction site so be it, it was meant to be and I can live with out. There was a glitch in the system, you can track it and see for your self. I enclosed a picture of it as well and if she can't understand that I will let other people know in my review of her auction house as well. I will not try any further with this auction house it is a waste of my time. I have explained the situation over and over and she doesn't care... so whatever. Karma! Here is the proof it was doing this during the whole the whole auction. Here is also evidence I tried to clear this up numerous times, she's just not willing to budge. If my account gets a negative mark on it please use this letter as permission to take my card off file and cancel my account. As this was my birthday and I was already upset I didn't win the items I wanted but was also going to be stuck with $70 of useless items, none of this being my fault. If I actually made the mistake I'd own it and pay, but this in no way is my fault. If you talk to Mary you can tell why this auction house has so many bad reviews! She thinks she's infallible and it shows just by reading all the hoopla under her signature. When I asked them about it they hid behind their legalese instead of trying to make things right. Be careful before bidding! I purchased a Disney pin from them. I called paid for the item and asked if I could pick it up. I am a huge Disney collector and wanted to see thier inventory in person. They check and the owner waved the $25.00 pick up fee. I then exam my CC statement. They charged me $78.44 for the pin. The total was $48.00 with buyers premium fees of 20%. I called to find out they shipped the item and charged me $30.44 shipping charge. For a Disney pin that ways a few onces. They refused to work with me saying I had authorized the shipping. Hateful and not trusted worthy with your cc info. She said I would be hearing from her attorney. They must do this often to have an attorney for a $30.44 dispute. Buyer beware! read more

I am an online bidder & always pay for my auction items right away. I've dealt with alot of auctioneers & for the most part, most of them are great & good honest people, esp the ones from PA and MA. But not so with Mary at Rapid Estate Auction Gallery!!! Stay away from her!!! She is a petty, penny-pinching dishonest cheat & liar. Notice that of the few reviews that she's had on Yelp, the good reviewers are definitely NOT customers bc they don't go into detail about what they've bought or done. Instead, they're just giving her a character reference, which is not normal for people who are real customers. Real customers speak from experience. I bought a used Pelikan mechanical pencil from Mary at Rapid Estate Auction Gallery in Orlando, FL. I paid for the total am't of my item right away, which included a hefty Buyer's Premium (normal) & an obscure "processing fee" (not normal) that was not listed in her Terms & Conditions. I told Mary that I needed the pencil as soon as possible for a graduation present for my son but that the only shipper that she recommended, GoNavis, only ships big items like furniture. She offered to send it out & said she would send it out Sun or Mon, within the next 2 days. She said it would cost $27- total to ship the little pencil & it's little box from Orlando FL to NYC NY; $20- for her "service" & $7- flat-rate to ship USPS priority mail (actually, flat-rate priority USPS mail is $5.95, not $7). That's a steep price for sending a little pencil but I needed it right away so I didn't disagree. But then Sun & Mon went by without any word from Mary. By Tues, I was worried that I wouldn't receive the pen in time for my son's graduation, so I called Mary. Mary had not even begun to do anything about shipping. Instead, she sent me an invoice amounting to over $30, just for a little pencil! 2 processing fees of about a couple dollars each & a shipping charge of $28.65, NOT our agreed upon $27! When I questioned her about the 3 extra charges, she then told me to go get a shipper somewhere else, that she refused to ship my little pencil & its little box. So of course I called Fedex and UPS right away in Orlando. Fedex found out whom I wanted them to pick up the auction item from and refused to deal with her at all. They said "Mary is a crazy, nasty, cheat" and advised me not to buy anything from her but I told them it was too late, that I had already paid for it too. Finally, UPS agreed to pick up my item from Mary. UPS called her for 2 days straight. Mary refused to take their phone calls & she refused to call them back. So then UPS called me, so I sent Mary emails, asking her to call UPS with the name & phone # of the UPS guy who wanted to schedule a pick-up. Do you know what Mary did?!? She totally ignored my emails to call the UPS guy, just like she ignored all the phone calls the UPS guy made to her. Then when I got upset with her & told her that she was holding my auction item hostage, she said that I was threatening her (which I was not) & so she demanded that I stop contacting her. Then she ends all her emails with "she's more than happy to help my shipper; just ask my shipper to contact her", which was what UPS had been trying to do for the past 2 days in addition to leaving numerous messages which Mary never returned. Yes, Mary is a very experienced auctioneer. Her whole premise is to get people to pay for the items right away and then she volunteers to ship the items, meanwhile randomly & frequently adding charges here & there & everywhere, so that she can milk the most amount of money from her customers as much as possible. It never occurs to Mary to do the right thing, the right thing being: doing good business for return customers. And when I disagreed with her exorbitant shipping charges, she decided to hold my paid item hostage so that she could make a claim against me with LiveAuctioneers. That's called "stealing". And mind you, LiveAuctioneers is not an innocent bystander. They always stand by the side of the auctioneer, bc that's how they make their money. Just ask Cristy of LiveAuctioneers and she'll tell you how she stood by Mary the entire time, despite email proof of all Mary's lies and fake excuses. Please be warned, folks: MARY DEES, owner of RAPID ESTATE AUCTION GALLERY, is a DECEITFUL, DISHONEST, PENNY-PINCHING CHEAT & LIAR. Don't ever deal with her unless you want to get scammed!!!!
