What a neat coffee shop hidden a basement in Alfama. I stopped by for a quick pickup during morning errands and it did not disappoint. The decor is very trendy right down to the slate used as serving dishes. It was quite busy but service was efficient and friendly where I was able to grab a raspberry bun and OJ quickly. The bun was incredibly moist and made with real raspberry. I found it verged on being too sweet for my tastes but it's a pastry so kind of expected. read more

You are walking down the narrow streets of Alfama one second, then transported to this awesome lab. They have oat milk and water + free wifi for tourists. We wound up going to Copenhagen coffee lab multiple times. Every time was spectacular! The food is good. If you don't see anything in the case not be that they also have a kitchen and make a very good omelette. Their savory pastries are also worth it and their cinnamon rolls can't be beat. Some more popular locations may be short on seating but we were always able to find something. Service is also very good and about as fast as a Starbucks (for drinks and pastries) in the US, which also impressed us. read more

The ambiance of this location was unmatched! The cinnamon buns were literally so soft and melted in our mouths. The matcha latte was the best matcha I've tried and I drink a lot of coffee. They have actual iced drinks here which is rare to find in Europe. With a few locations around Lisbon, you can grab yourself an iced drink if that's what you're used to. There's an outdoor patio with natural lighting and cool seating. It's such a vibe. read more

I usually go to the Copenhagen Coffee Lab at Praca das Flores, which is tiny, so it was nice to step down into this huge, gorgeous space and see they even have a backyard. It's a very instagrammable situation, from the location (and it's on the 28 line) to the presentation of the food. Also the crowd, lbh. I have been sampling the pastries in Portugal for several months now and the selection at Copenhagen is my favorite. They might take away my residency for saying that, I know. The cardamom one is my go-to, but they're all good. One time my dog snagged my cardamom bun while I had my back turned and I was sad about it for days. Clearly I'm still not over it. The savory pastries and sandwiches are also all excellent. When I bit into one and it was very all about the sun-dried tomato it was like a flashback to my NJ childhood. Remember how sun-dried tomatoes were the peak of sophistication, along with grey poupon and Viennetta? And then we just collectively moved on and pretended that never happened. But sun dried tomatoes are good, so I'm happy for them to return to my life. Some Copenhagen locations are laptop friendly, others aren't, and sometimes they have laptop zones. This location has wifi and lots of space, so your odds are better than at some of the smaller locations. They're dog friendly. Whenever I have a dog with me they're very excited to come in, hoping there will be treats for them, too. There usually are. If you just want a quick espresso and a snack, there are less expensive options, as plenty of people have pointed out. Copenhagen focuses on the details (even if they might not pass muster for the true coffee snobs) and making sure us Americans can get our lattes. read more

This was my favorite spot to grab a cortado and pastry while staying in the Alfama neighborhood. The cafe is simply adorable, particularly the patio with the little birds flying around. Their coffees are really good, and I loved their rye bread with scrambled eggs. read more

Charming coffee shop in the heart of the Alfama district. We came here right after our red eye flight into Lisbon and the strong coffee was just what we needed. Adorable stone walls and a relaxing garden area. It does seem to be touristy, the employees were very patient and helpful with all of customers. I had the avocado toast with egg and the power boost smoothie (banana, pasta, cold brew). Everything was fresh and great. The prices were very reasonable for the quality. Definitely worth a visit.
