Everyone on our tour was quite impressed with his ability to communicate in 5 different languages. I really wish I had gotten his name so that he could get Kudo's. (English: Atta Boy or High Praise). He was very knowledgeable about history, architecture and a little culture. We arrived in time to hop on this boat and to take it all around Copenhagen. Some of the things we got to see was the Little Mermaid, Paper Island, Christiansborg Palace, Gammel Strand, Nyhavn and much more. The little Mermaid has been vandalized a number of times. This year it was painted red by someone. The city had to restore her. The Little Mermaid from Hans Christian Anderson is not as big as you would think. But it is an icon of Denmark. This tour was around an hour. My family and I loved seeing all the sights and having the ability to hop on and off at will was a nice added touch.

I intentionally planned my 2 days in Denmark around this area, with my hotel and the sites I wanted to visit within walking distance. The current station building opened in 1911, with a major overhaul in 1980 including elevators, escalators and a new station concourse. It has 7 platforms and 13 tracks, making it the largest train station in Denmark. With 100,000 travelers per day, it is the second busiest in the country. Getting to it from the airport required taking the M2 line, transferring at Kongens Nytorv to the either the M3 or M4 line to get here. The journey took a little over 30 minutes, and the trains were relatively crowded on both the inbound and outbound. The cost was (30,00 DKK - $4.69 USD converted) for the one way. There are no gates of any sort, and I didn't see any security doing ticket checks. Read on-line that fines could be substantial. Since the trains to the airport run so frequently, didn't have a chance to admire/partake of the station. On my next longer visit, will linger a bit more.

The tour lasts approx 2.5 hours with no set route so some customization to your interests is possible. A bike tour is a great way to see the city. You cover so much more ground. If you plan to ride around in Copenhagen on your own, it's a great way to learn the bike rules and etiquette. Copenhagen is a great city for biking and I highly recommend you give it a try.

In Denmark it's legal to drink alcohol in public so if you see people with a bottle of wine laying in the grass, don't be alarmed. It's perfectly normal. You are also very close to the old neighborhood of Copenhagen K with beautiful old buildings in different colors with rose flowers growing in the walls. People sit out on the steps in the summer usually with a six pack of beers, people-watching and being outdoors is a big thing here in the summer. Outside the metro station is the big Forum hall. It's a hall for concerts, ice skating like Disney on ice etc. Forum is basically very close to all four major parts of Copenhagen. The west-Vesterbro, The north-Nørrebro, The east-Østerbro and City centre-København K There's a lot of parks and gardens around, tons of bars, cafés, restaurants and shops. So you better just start walking or rent a bike from the many bike rental places or s city bicycle from the stands. The bikes are white and you'll pay with your credit card and they can be dropped off at any of the other stands. They are electrical so you'll have to put them back in the right stand. Also...because I had already done the other boat tour included with the Copenhagen Card. The boats are a little dingier and dirtier than some other tour companies. And they pack the boats full. You may not have much personal space on a busy day. But you get a full circle tour of the city from the water and you get to be on a boat for an hour. So...*shrug* So I stand by the Canal Tours being much better. But I think as long as you get to do a boat tour during your time in town, any one will do.

It's so romantic, we decided to kiss every time the boat goes under the bridge. And people! there are MANY bridges on this tour, over 20 in fact, but who's counting? If you're not a romantic, the practical purpose of this tour is to catch your bearings. Whenever I'm somewhere new, I always opt for the best mode of transportation to see the city. And here, it's best seen on the water. You'll pass the famous Little Mermaid, the impressive Opera House, the upscale Christianshavn neighborhood, Vor Freslers Kirke, etc. The tour lasts about 60 minutes and costs 60 Dkk (that's only $10!) and it's the best tour given in Danish and English. Don't go to the DFS company, they charge twice as much for the same exact tour.

I wrote the owner to express my concerns and he offered bikes to rent but we had already left. Then I responded and never heard from him again until he answered my tour review saying we were late because we stopped to face time. This is not true at all. My husband faced time my son while I was waiting in a very long bathroom line, which I was thrilled to have found because the guide never even asked if we had to use the restroom. When I said I was using one, she goes "oh ya that's good to use now I didn't think about a bathroom stop" / so it seemed clear to use this was a new tour for her.
