The other landscape companies I contacted weren't very responsive and gave me a much higher quote. I thought about going to Home Dept, renting a chipper, figuring out how to work my chainsaw, etc... then I got the quote from DeMore. Why deal with all the hassle when I could have a certified arborist do the job for around the same price or cheaper? (I didn't actually price out HD, but it should've been close) Plus he identified my mystery (mock orange) bush. The best part was I left for work in the morning and when I came home all my bush/shrubs were gone! Only a little bit of sawdust remained. They tried to bill the party that contracted them for this branch, and when they refused to pay they billed me, saying it over my property and that is who pays. I never hired them to do any work, and I never was asked if wanted the work done on my dime. Had they done so I would have asked for an estimate of the cost. They just sent me the bill. I am pretty sure you can find a more reputable service to use.

I've worked with Joe on a few projects at my home over the last 12 years and he's always been prompt, effective, careful, and dedicated to achieving an excellent outcome for my tree removal needs. Most recently Joe removed a number of pine trees to open up my views from my hilltop home. He methodically removed all marked trees, safely coordinating their felling, and contemplating the next steps in their processing. Joe bucked the pines into logs that I'm having milled into boards for woodworking projects. He was even concerned about log preparation so that the sawyer had an easy time moving logs. But that's not enough for Joe, he also needed to be sure all cleanup was completed efficiently and effectively too. I can't imagine hiring someone other than Joe. His craftsmanship is impressive and his intellect allows him to see all aspects of a project and determine how he (or others after him) can achieve ultimate efficiency for a good outcome. Additionally, Joe is a "connector" and knows of other experts in related service needs who hold the same level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that he fosters in his own work. I wish I could clone Joe, there are so few people of his caliber and integrity.

We called him and made a second appointment for the following weekend. Again he didn't show. We called him and he said he was on another call and could he "come by later." Unfortunately we were not available "later" and asked if he could please keep the appointment we had made. He did appear and gave us just enough time to test the different zones in our system. We made a third appointment for him to install the new control panel. He arrived late, and without the proper hardware. He then left to pick up the missing parts, and did not return for over four hours, after I had called to ask him if he actually planned on returning. He managed to show up at the tail end of the afternoon, did a half-assed job installing the new controller, then left without finishing the job (he neglected to bring a final part). The next day he texted me to say he had left his sunglasses on our property and that he would return to finish the ob "later this week." Two weeks later I texted him to ask if he actually planned on returning. He assured me, once again, that he would be here during the following week. He didn't. At this point we have given up on good od Jim and told him not to bother. Lesson learned, Bottom line, anyone who hires this a$$hole gets what they deserve. He doesn't keep his appointments, he does a lousy job when he does show, and you can't trust him farther than you can throw him. He should be run out of town.

Esvin and team just finished our project. It was a massive landscaping/hardscaping project…read moreinvolving new stone stairs, a large paved patio with a beautiful fire pit, 2 walkways, walls, sod, mulch, fill, leveling, etc. He provided an exhaustive and detailed proposal and worked with our available budget to produce a beautiful, artistic and professional exterior to our home. His team was very respectful, friendly and approachable. Esvin is also a great communicator and gave us updates on the project and provided solutions to the many challenges encountered, such as septic placement, underground utilities, etc. Whatever he could not achieve due to these reasons were compensated by other features, balancing the agreed upon total project price. He also had great communication with our next-door neighbor who we share the driveway with and went out of his way to tie up our new features with the neighbor's existing features seamlessly. We also had the exterior painters overlap with Esvin's project and they did a great job coordinating among themselves. We had been dealing with several contractors throughout these nearly 2 years of renovations and I am pleased to say Esvin's team was one of the most pleasant to work with. They typically started at 7:00 AM and finished around 7:00 PM from Monday to Saturday to complete the project on time. Thanks to their skill, commitment and hard work they completed our massive project in 2 months. I honestly thought it was going to take at least twice as much time. Now we have a new beautiful space we can actually enjoy before the Summer is over! Do yourself a favor and go with his team if you are investing on an outside project. It is worth the price and since they do things right, it will last long. When I first started the project, all I had was a high level vision.
