The improvement would be to leave king city and allow king city residents have a decent grocery store to shop at near our homes. Not sure how many years this store has been open , but it's been a disappointment since day one. 95% of king city residents travel outside of our community to do their groceries. Sad. Spoiled meat, frozen items - freezer burnt, shelves are empty , large fabric coppas bags put up to cover empty shelves . So many products missing that should be in a grocery store. Something has to be done , the community suffers as long as this store remains open . Had to pick a star to post this , but it doesn't deserve a star rating . read more

This store has not appeared normal from day one as looking down from the upper level, the back of the shelf have been always empty.

The food is CONSTANTLY rotten. Including meat. Do not shop here! From rancid ground beef, to hot dogs that have been opened. Wont forget freezer burn't sorbet to packages of hot dogs/hamburger buns that were frozen and thawed that have been reduced to mush from the condensation.....not sure how this store went so downhill. read more

This store is the best locations I came across so far. Their meat ball sandwich is fenomenal. The man working here is very sharp looking and looks like he keeps this place very clean and tidy. Meals look fresh and service is fast. Will be back here soon for sure. read more

The business may be in trouble because items are not filled, consumers are shopping elsewhere, food are not that fresh, everything is priced up as compared to other supermarkets, and a small plastic bag is charged for 5 cents with a rude language by the owner, Mr. John Louis "Louie" Coppa. Bought a couple of mini ricotta zeppole on the weekend and I must say, they were amazing and far better than the ones at Maple Bakery and St Phillips Bakery in Maple. Not only did they taste better but they definitely were cheaper. Will be going back this weekend to get my fix again and will take some pics as well . At $1.99 each you cannot go wrong! I don't shop here often, but I do like coming here for lunch with my family at the casual sit-down restaurant attached to the supermarket. I'm not a fan of the pricing and produce here. But their hot food table and restaurant isn't too bad. I like that it is very sun filled and the food is pretty good. It's a good place to grab a quick, but fresh meal. The bonus points comes from the fact that their restaurant is convenient to do the groceries and have a decent sit down meal and not worrying about my toddler melting down at the same time. My toddler loves their made to order pasta - which they have a few good options plus choosing your sauce. I personally love their pizzas; with the crust nice and chewing with the right kind of bite to it. The store is nice and bright and well organized with a focus on Italian and Eastern European foods and imports. The service can be somewhat slow; but from what I have experienced it has been very pleasant. The shopper washrooms are well-kept and clean; especially the larger family washroom. So to recap - love coming to have a super casual lunch here - because it is pretty toddler friendly. The store is clean and bright. I don't love the organization and quality of the produce section. But overall this place isn't bad. Mostly the bonus points come from the fact that I just love it for the restaurant attached to it and the convenience of killing two birds with one stone without having to repack the toddler in the car again. read more

The flower lady is rude. They never have fresh flowers. One time the flowers were so dead and dry I asked the lady if they have fresh flowers. She got angry and said "if the flowers are in water they are fresh, come I'll show you the water" I told her that I see that they are in water and asked her to look at the flowers. They were completely dead. She ignored me and walked away... I wouldn't expect this type of service from even the worst flower shop not to mention a "high end" super market. Very fresh, clean and inviting. Everything is stacked nicely, the place looks a little smaller than other grocery stores. I went it quickly to grab a couple of things but I can't wait to go there and actually shop! The place looks real nice with some real cool products. Honestly not the worst grocery store. They have good exotic fruits, bottled juices and snacks. Super Italian oriented with a decent hot food section, fresh pizza, but they have a sushi bar and ready made foods of different cuisines easy to take away. Overpriced, questionable produce, and way too bougie for this native B-town girl. I legitimately do not like coming here, but because King City is not a town (community?) of many amenities without hitting up Aurora or Newmarket which is another 10-15 minutes out of the way for me, Coppas is a quick fix given its location at Dufferin and King. The best part is the bakery - fresh bagels, a full service bakery counter where you can custom order things, and an assortment of delectable pastries. I'd avoid the hot table at all costs unless you like being gouged for flavourless meals. Coppas employs...an eclectic group of people. On my most recent visit, the next customer behind us was also an employee of Coppas. When she inquired with the cashier whether or not she was working tomorrow (April 20th) she quipped, "No, it's 4/20, I'm staying home and getting baked." LOLZ. It's the place you go to if you're in a pinch, but definitely not my first recommendation as a place to do your weekly grocery shop haul. read more

The Store Manager is ineffective and lacking in management and communication skills. I found four containers of Arriosti with. February 28, 2018 best before date. When I brought it to his attention his response was" that's not in English I didn't know what it says". He repeated that comment three times. The date was numerical,not alpha. His Italian employee confirmed it's the best before date. His new response " that came from our Rutherford store, you wouldn't believe that store". Wow! So far everything wrong from a Manager. Not one comment indicating this shouldn't have happened. Not one comment indicating it should have been checked before being placed for sale. Nothing remotely indicating an error on their part at all. Also not people friendly. Many of the products I used to look for have been replaced by inferior brands. No longer my favorite store to shop at. A simple sorry would have done the trick. The previous manager was amazing!!! read more

Unfortunately there are not a lot of options in King City for a grocery store. When Coppa's King city location opened residents were so excited. It was clean, well stocked and had plenty of hands on deck for help, questions etc. Now, all I hear are complaints from friends and neighbors. Couple that with my own poor experiences and unfortunately it has gone down hill fast. The store is very disorganized. Organic produce are in several different locations and you spin around trying to find everything for a quick shop. There are never labels on the olive bar, or utensils to fill containers with the different salads. When there are some descriptive labels, they are usually wrong and attached to the wrong salad. More than once, including today I have encountered one price on the label of an item and had it ring up higher at register. Today it was the packaged Serrano ham. The price on the label was $4.99 however at the register it rang up at $5.49. I mentioned it to the cashier and she said that she'd have to go look. I didn't feel like waiting so I told her not to worry. After I checked out, I went back and sure enough the label says $4.99. This is the third time I've had this situation here. How much and how many times are they over charging customers on a daily basis? Try getting a salad in the cold case near the pizza and sushi area. There is never anyone working there and the sushi person refuses to acknowledge customers. When I've called on them several times, they shrug their shoulders and point to the person on the other side, never calling them for assistance. It's up to the customer to go find help. Another day I found a potato salad in the prepackaged foods case labeled Cole slaw. I mentioned it to the employee filling the case and she just laughed. She never took it out or corrected it. I went back after I finished in that area and it was still there. This is all attention to detail and I blame management. The one good thing is that most of the employees are friendly so I feel if taught or if things were pointed out, they would be corrected. It's obvious that management doesn't care and the expectations are very low here. There are so many glaring issues that if a manager took the time to walk their store they would see these issues right away. I try to only pick up a few essentials here and do my large grocery run elsewhere. I just can't trust that I'm getting fresh food or being charged correctly.
