Field Fresh Supermarket is a giant one stop shop for all of your family's favourite groceries. They have a food court section with many restaurants occupying food stalls. Snack aisles and ample selection of fresh local, imported fruits and vegetables. Inside the supermarket there is a large seafood market and prepared hot foods for takeout. Serving the community with valuable service for many years.

Shrimp rice rolls $2.59 (from the actual grocery store, not the food court, but we ate it in the food court, hehe).

Field Fresh is an Asian grocery store. It also has a small food court with independent vendors. It has a bakery operating inside of it too (I'm pretty sure the bakery is also an independent vendor because you have to pay for bakery items at the bakery cash register, not the main grocery store check out). The grocery store itself is similar to T&T, Foody Mart, and other large Asian supermarkets, but I find the prices lower. They have a prepared foods section that sells dim sum, Chinese food (like at Manchu Wok, Shanghai 360, Tiki Ming, etc.) and Chinese BBQ (Peking duck, BBQ pork, etc.). You can buy food here and eat it in the food court area. The prices are quite good (eg. $1.99 for 4 pieces of Shrimp Har Gow that were full of shrimp). Staff don't always speak much English but they are pleasant and try to be as helpful as they can be. Sometimes it might feel like you're playing Charades, but hey as long as you can understand each other, right? The supermarket is in a plaza with other businesses (restaurants, dollar store, etc.). There's free parking, but the lot is really busy.

This location used be T&T and it took 1 year before Field Fresh opens another grocery store in the same location. The layout is basically really similar but there was hardly any cooked and prepared food available aside from BBQ. Price wise Field Fresh/Farm Fresh is cheaper VS T&T but their quality of meat/seafood also relatively lower. Double check expiry date is really important. For a newly opened supermarket, I did not expected some of the products to be expiring in Feb/March 2017?!

Decent fresh produce and packaged goods, but BBQ and dim sum items were below avg and bland. Service was poor, ladies were like robots, clueless and non-communicative. Another irritating thing about the store, if you buy baked goods you have to pay at the baked goods cash, you cannot take it up front, which means you end up waiting in line to pay for things twice - justvplain stupid. Bathrooms were filthy and gross.

Field Fresh occupies the entirety of the old T&T that was here so it has a lot of space to work with.

I…read moreonly found out of this place through a friend because she brought in some really tasty meats for our last BBQ. I don't think I would have ever stepped into this place otherwise. Once you enter in, someone greets you and asks you what you want. Everything is pre-bagged so you just tick off which meats you want and they pull it out of the tray or fridge for you. I ordered a bag of kalbi ribs, two bags of chicken thighs in different flavours. I don't find the kalbi really tasty for some reason. Maybe the marinade is too light but I wasn't a fan of the texture of the meat either. The chicken thighs on the other hand kicked it out of the ball park. The curry one is soooo juicy and delicious and I love the flavours. Prices are pretty good too. I can't remember exactly how much it was but I think the 3 bags were under $30 and they were more than enough to feed a family of 6.

Everything is marinated beforehand so this would be great if you planned a last minute bbq. I would get everything but the squid again. The squid didn't have any unique flavour to it and was quite bland in my opinion. If you get it I would recommend adding some sauce prior to putting it on the grill. As a side note, the shop's location has changed, which is shown on a notice at the door. They are located at another unit, called Ah Fong, in the same plaza. The plaza itself is super run down but don't judge a book by its cover - the meat here is amazing!

I Set up there Ottawa location for the company Toronto management very Toxic they give opportunity based off Prejudice personal views first not professional, they talk trash about staff/customer base, other religions, staff members wife's cause of their views no basic respect or gratitude for the business they get, zero safety standard banged my foot there saying don't do "incident reports" they operate a lift u need a license for not having one, will belittle you an take advantage of everything you do giving opportunity or training to people based off prejudice views first and they end up leaving the company its unprofessional joke, just taking advantage of the government kick back on wages by hiring certain people and screwing everyone else. Worked at there Ottawa location for 3 years took over there sales floor changed 90% of it setting up there store for the company, covered an fixed everything all pricing/items not in the system, merchandising issues made that store function for the longest time. Was kept on the side the whole time even when they did the initial change of chemicals I was already doing everything at that point an the Toronto management did the walk with the manager and a buddy of the company who was hired for only a few weeks to help them out, I was working that day ended taking over a day later having to call Toronto management cause the manager told me to call them after that I did the rest of the store pretty much doing everything covering the whole floor, a lot of customer service and all the trucks I unloaded Ambient/freezer even transfers or store maintenance you name it I covered and fixed it all. Having to bud in all the time to help them out for the store to function, I had ask for all my raises and promotion they gave me floor supervisor and found out somebody already had it who knew the owner. I worked 2x to 3x harder compared to everyone else to get that position it was fake found out they would make fun of fact he had that position probably me too when they gave it to me. The floor supervisor position got no training or opportunity in the company got to a point where I called Toronto management to see if I had a actually future in the company, was intentionally verbally attacked with the most ignorant distain and disrespect you could imagine, mocking my position bringing up how that staff member already had the position and it meant nothing just trying to trigger me so he could fire me knowing they brought in others and could take advantage of everything I did instead of getting me involved like I earned and having me there a fair amount of time a week 6/7 days so I could do things properly not being on overdrive for them all the time too keep the store going and being takin advantage of. Immediately after that Toronto management put staff in departments to push me out brought in staff from Toronto also, when he brought in the first one they walked in an I was walking out to do something he starred me down with the most pathetic look you could imagine like you're screwed looking at a angle so the new staff couldn't see, even after all that I still finished the rest of the theme/setups I had planned and helped the new Manager fix all the main inventory problems that were in the system he was forced into the situation I don't blame him. Made multiple HR complaints all got ignore they just condone what the management does and protects them, no safety standard either company is very bias there's no earning you way.

I shopped a lot of items. A helper asked for money to load my items. He spoke in hindi. I complaint…read moreto the company and they are very slow in helping me. I am never coming back here.

The store was very clean and very well laid out. Quite a few good varieties and selection for every item. The prices are reasonable. We didn't purchase a lot of things. There was a table full of samples to try out - you can select which sample you want to try and how many times. We did try quite a few items and surprisingly we liked quite a few of them and almost all of them were store brand and we bought many of them. We also bought khaman dhokla - which was very disappointing. Not fresh and also as it was dipped or topped in a sugar syrup. Coming from a Gujarati store, khaman was very disappointing. Same for Khichu - it was so dry and unflavoured. We topped with some pickle masala and still it was not pleasing at all. We bought chappatis and they were absolutely amazing. Soft, fresh and well made and reasonably priced. Part of the taste was because of a lot oil was used when the dough was prepared. Only thing we didn't like is there were no ingredients on the packaging. If management is reading this please add ingredients to as many items that are store made.
