I stopped in at Scarborough's Kings Fair Supermarket recently, since I was in the neighbourhood. I came across some good deals for lunch that I couldn't resist. I had their Pork Belly with Preserved Vegetable. It was only $5.99 for a decent portion, and tasted pretty good. A Pineapple Soda completed this meal. It was actually such a good deal, I decided to pick up something for dinner. A combo with BBQ Duck, Soya Chicken, Vegetables, and Rice, also for only $5.99, seemed like a great choice. If I could get deals like this, closer to home, I may not have to cook! read more

**SCAM Alert ‼** **Buyer beware!** There was a promotion for Geoduck being 19.88/ lbs The worker rung up the price as being 22.99 and quickly wrapped up in the plastic bag and stuffed into a paper bag. I double checked and when confronted they took the geoduck out and placed near the freshly dead stock and tried to stuff a dead one into the bag. I said you did not need to take out. Just place correct price and not try this switch a roo for items they claim to be on sale. Either honour the price or don't sell it. Tips: - You can get hot foods at the supermarket. There's also a food court. - The variety of drinks is amazing. - Fruit and produce are cheap. After seeing my ophthalmologist, my original plan was to visit BestCo up the road. A friend had let me know the the Chi drinks that I love (sugar-free) are 2 for $3 at that grocery chain. Well, with my dilated, sensitive eyes, I drove over there and couldn't find a parking spot. Folks were shopping up a storm at noon on a Friday. Instead, I remembered this supermarket and decided to visit it. It used to be a T&T Supermarket, and then changed to a Field Fresh. Frankly, I had not visited this place since it was a T&T. Yep, it had been a long time. It's now called Kings Fair. Does Kings need an apostrophe somewhere? I feel like something is missing. Maybe I'm overthinking it. There was lots of parking. I pulled into a spot and walked in with sunglasses on like I was a celebrity with a nasty hangover, but none of that was the case. It felt the same as T&T. I saw the food court with different vendors. No Owl of Minerva these days. There was still a congee place. Cool! The bakery section looked the same. I had contemplated getting some Swiss rolls, but knew that I'd inhale them. Why am I here? I need to get back on track. I needed some fruit. There was a sale on blackberries and blueberries. They were perfect to mix them into my yogurt. Perfect! Celery was on sale. I needed some. It looked healthy and gigantic. This store has a massive variety of drinks. I saw a lot of fancy Fanta flavours, such as green grape, grape, and melon. I also saw an entire set of Line Friends pop. I was pleased to see my Chi drinks. Two bottles were going for $3 here, too. Yay! I basically got what I needed and headed to the checkout. The woman there was nice and efficient. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I should drop by this supermarket more often. We are regular customers and shop here about once a week, but after our two most recent visits, we are not sure we will return. While we were checking out and loading our items onto the conveyor belt, the cashier stood on her tiptoes to look into our cart. She then came out from behind her register to inspect the cart, went back to her station, and then came out again to check it a second time. This happened on both of our two most recent visits. This was upsetting, humiliating, and disrespectful. We were simply trying to pay for our groceries, yet we were made to feel as though we were being accused of stealing. We understand the importance of loss prevention, but customers should still be treated with professionalism and respect. As regular shoppers who sometimes spend over $100 a week here, we did not deserve to be treated this way. read more

Field Fresh Supermarket is a giant one stop shop for all of your family's favourite groceries. They have a food court section with many restaurants occupying food stalls. Snack aisles and ample selection of fresh local, imported fruits and vegetables. Inside the supermarket there is a large seafood market and prepared hot foods for takeout. This supermarket knowingly sells expired snacks. Back in December, I told the customer service desk person that the item that they were selling will be expired in a coupe of days and they told me it will be returned to the manufacturer which doesn't even make sense. Fast forward to February they put the item on sale with the same January date but try to sneakily trick consumers that it's a manufacture date. read more

This store is massive. It looks like it could be a factory! I always feel like a kid in a candy shop when I'm here. There's a fish market, a bakery (cash only), a food court, a bubble tea stand and beauty shop. It quite literally is a one-stop shop. The location is also great too- right by a bunch of restaurants, Popeyes, etc. The parking lot is always swarming with people and cars. When I went recently, they also checked my temperature at the door. It's hard to walk out of this place without spending $100+...heh... read more

Field Fresh is an Asian grocery store. It also has a small food court with independent vendors. It has a bakery operating inside of it too (I'm pretty sure the bakery is also an independent vendor because you have to pay for bakery items at the bakery cash register, not the main grocery store check out). The grocery store itself is similar to T&T, Foody Mart, and other large Asian supermarkets, but I find the prices lower. They have a prepared foods section that sells dim sum, Chinese food (like at Manchu Wok, Shanghai 360, Tiki Ming, etc.) and Chinese BBQ (Peking duck, BBQ pork, etc.). You can buy food here and eat it in the food court area. The prices are quite good (eg. $1.99 for 4 pieces of Shrimp Har Gow that were full of shrimp). Staff don't always speak much English but they are pleasant and try to be as helpful as they can be. Sometimes it might feel like you're playing Charades, but hey as long as you can understand each other, right? The supermarket is in a plaza with other businesses (restaurants, dollar store, etc.). Not a very clean store. I've seen left over Tim Hortons coffee cups and water bottles on top shelves left over by employees. Not a pretty sight. Opened boxes left unattended by employees all over the place. To add insult to injury, the cashier puts the raw meats in a bag with dried goods. Seriously? Common safety/handling practices should be educated to these people. I'm disgusted. read more

This location used be T&T and it took 1 year before Field Fresh opens another grocery store in the same location. The layout is basically really similar but there was hardly any cooked and prepared food available aside from BBQ. Price wise Field Fresh/Farm Fresh is cheaper VS T&T but their quality of meat/seafood also relatively lower. Double check expiry date is really important. For a newly opened supermarket, I did not expected some of the products to be expiring in Feb/March 2017?! read more

Pros: Prices are lower than other supermarkets Large selection of items Cons: Parking situation not the best Food court not as good as it was before I used to frequent this supermarket location frequently when it was a T & T. I would always do my grocery shopping here because it was not as crazy as the T & T at Warden and Finch and having the banh mi place near by always helped. Seeing a new supermarket take over I had to give it a try. If you've ever been to the old T & T here before, you will notice they did not change the layout too much. It almost looks exactly the same as what I remember. The mini food court is still where it is at the front, albeit with less choice than before. One thing I immediately noticed about this place is that the prices seem much lower than your average supermarket. Chinese supermarkets are usually a tad cheaper in general, but the price difference was more noticeable here. Even with the lower prices, there was little to no difference in overall quality of the items. They have a very vast selection of items too. I found items that I don't seem to see much of anymore at other supermarkets. As I said before, the food court is still there but it's not as good as it was before. It's basically just congee and noodles now. If you wanted something with rice, you're out of luck. There is a hot foods section in the supermarket itself and that's your best bet for rice dishes of any sort. My only other gripe is the parking situation. Field Fresh shares a smaller than average plaza parking area with a lot of other businesses. On the weekend, it can be very hard to find parking. You end up parking pretty far from the supermarket itself. Couple with the fact that they only have one cart return area, it's a less than optimal situation. Field Fresh will probably become one of my go to supermarkets because of the price alone. If the food court gets back to where it was before and they add some more cart return terminals in the parking lot, we have a real keeper here. read more

This is one of my go to grocery stores as it near my community. After T&T closed, this plaza has been rather quiet and people who want to go grocery shopping had to shop at Walmart, Sunny or Oriental, so Field Fresh makes it much more accessible for people to get to. Field Fresh changed the colours from T&T and the original outlook of the place as the cashiers are moved way closer to the front entrance than they used to be and this is evident from the floor tiles. The bakery is still where it originally is - though now you have to purchase the bread at the bakery as opposed to at the cashier. I'm not a huge fan of their bakery products, but I would come here for their fresh produce. There is also no more halal meat as a option in this supermarket, the spot that was originally for halal meat changed to a spot where they place packaged foods like rice. The lunch combos are still in the same spot, at roughly $4.99 a combo meal in a shallow styrofoam box. read more

I dont actually eat food here, i just come next door to the Vietnamese place every now and then with my friend when I need a snack and buy a bahn mi sandwich to tie me over until dinner, so I just sit down in the food court and enjoy my sandwich. read more

Came here during their soft opening phase on December 2016. Last time I've been in this place was when it was the previous T & T Supermarket. This new Field Fresh Supermarket is pretty impressive, as it is clean, really big supermarket with lots of selection. Prices are really cheap, especially on snacks. I would say, the prices are comparable, if not much cheaper, than Farm Fresh Supermarket by Brimley and Sheppard. Come here for cheap groceries, and a clean store. Since we came here during their soft opening, I didn't see the store's hot foods section fully stocked. The meat section, though, was A-OK. Also, it appears that there will be a Halal Meat section that has not been stocked yet, so definitely something to watch out for. Looking at the food court section, the Congee House was the first one to open. This is an impressive big grocery store that has fresh produce and cheap foods. Decent fresh produce and packaged goods, but BBQ and dim sum items were below avg and bland. Service was poor, ladies were like robots, clueless and non-communicative. Another irritating thing about the store, if you buy baked goods you have to pay at the baked goods cash, you cannot take it up front, which means you end up waiting in line to pay for things twice - justvplain stupid. Decent Chinese grocery store with a good selection of Chinese/Asian specialty foods. I must add that I went during the soft opening (a few weeks ago) and some of the features (bakery, hot food) were not fully functioning yet. As per the previous review I second the freshness of some of the items, some produce was overripe or going bad but I think this was just an oversight as the timing of opening a new store and having all your shelves filled with fresh product is difficult. I would be interested to see what the quality/freshness will be long term. The store offers fresh seafood and fully functional butcher/meat counter, bakery, hot foods, sushi etc. 3 stars given as in comparison to other grocery stores in the area (Sunny food mart, t&t, foody mart etc.) it seems this store just fades to the background. read more

Field Fresh occupies the entirety of the old T&T that was here so it has a lot of space to work with. The bakery is still here and they offer a lot of in-house baked goods as well. I really enjoy looking through the produce aisle as they often have exotic fruits that aren't always in season so it's a treat that they have it vs. other grocery stores. There is an extensive seafood section with lots of fresh fish, crustaceans, and all manner of bivalves (thicc geoducks). The tanks also look quite clean. The one critique is maybe not letting people look through the blue crabs on their own because they seem to toss them around haphazardly so there's a lot missing claws (although I do suspect that the crabs are slightly cannibalistic). The meat section has A LOT of stuff. There's prepackaged hot pot meats to make your gatherings a little less hectic. There are exotic meats like rabbit, a variety of organs not found at other grocery stores (chicken hearts, cow stomach), fresh poultry including duck and quails, as well as really good deals on things like stewing chickens (often $1!). There's always a lot of snacks but one thing that stands out is the Pocky and Kit Kat collection! No need to go to go all the way to Japan to get your fix! read more

If you want selection AND low prices, you should make a stop to Field Fresh at least once. This is my second favorite Chinese supermarket due to the low prices. The prices across categories are lower than Foody, T&T banners of grocers. Quality is correspondingly adjusted, so if you are frugal like me, you monitor buying, usage and inventory of perishables closely, and you will do just fine. The produce, fruit, frozen sections have good selections. The prices are seasonal. The bakery quality is meh but no more disappointing than other budget Asian grocers. Do watch out for the expiration dates of the cold desserts. The prices of the ready to eat/cooked food section are outstanding. The food is quite oily, which is not unexpected. Last but not least, I find it fun to shop at the food court. read more

Previous owner losing customers sold to the current owner, still horrible customer service in the cashier , 3 ladies in the cashier counter, one lady wad talking on the phone like forever, I was standing in front on her, but she just ignore me. other lady was do nothing but showing she is busy, the other one was taking care of other customers , I've standing there for 10 minutes and attempting to pay cash for a new paper (already paid grocery). I was trying to ask the lady -should I pay here (I speak with Chinese) , she ignored me and don't answer me, no eye contact with me and pedant that she didn't hear and see me. I drop the new paper and left the store, I will never come back to shop there again for such a lousy, rude, attitude customer service .Foods and prices in Farm Fresh are so-so, similar to other Chinese supermarkets, nothing special. read more

This is where the old T&T used to be. The layout is exactly the same but it is not as busy or chaotic as it was when it was a T&T. That being said I find that the sales and overrall prices are cheaper than T&T, My family would rather drive further to this location than go to our closest T&T (although we are more of a foody mart family). It`s a typical Chinese grocery store, tons of variety. The dim sum and bbq kitchen section is actaully really good. Their siu mai is huge and often go on sale. The workers don`t really talk to you unless you ask them something but they arn`t oveerly rude like other supermarkets I find. Although some of the sample ladies are just ugh -eyeroll-. My mom tried asking one sample lady a question about the product and she had to say `hello`like 5 times to her face to get the sample lady to even realize my mom was talking to her. There was another sample lady standing there too just waiting for the lady to wake the fuck up. Like isn`t that your job to advertise the product....sheesh Other than the rude sample ladies. I don`t mind this Chinese supermarket, I`ll just eat the samples and not try to ask questions. read more

Prices are cheap for the groceries but won't be here again. Unfortunately, the produce staff are extremely rude. I witnessed them blaming an elderly citizen for making a mess while shopping some produce they have yet to stock, even though they were just looking. Totally disappointed with this operation. All front line staff, with the exception of the cashiers, are hopeless. They are rude and are not trained to deliver services, in particular those in the bbq, fish and the customer service departments. The lady customer service department in charge even told that their management would NEVER entertain any customer complaints. What the Fxxk.
