During Johnson's administration, the LBJ Ranch was known as the Texas White House because the President spent approximately 20% of his time in office there. Johnson donated the ranch in his will to the public to form the park, with the provision that it "remain a working ranch." You can see his birthplace home, school house, the cemetary where he and his family are buried, the show stables, his prized Hereford cows, and even his downsized "Airforce one-Half" Across the street at the state park you can see the home and building of the Johnson's neighbors, the Sauer--Beckmanns in the living history farm area. There is also a bison herd and longhorns on the property.

Is all I can say! Historic, farm animals, a school, cemetery, etc...This place is massive! We were there probably 2 hours and I'm sure we didn't see everything. We had our dog with us so he was able to experience this with us as well! It was so fun seeing the exhibits, walking amongst the sheep, and walking through the historic home and school. You can walk through some areas or you can choose to drive. We opted to walk the farm area and drive through the rest with stops along the way. Park ranger and visitor office staff were very friendly! Oh and it was free but I think you can make donations. Highly recommend!

We are very happy about our new custom Whitestone home, just completed in Johnson Ranch. While…read moreissues always arise during construction, the Project Manager, Wendy Venske, was great in addressing those issues in a timely and responsive manner. Wendy found out quickly that I was pretty demanding for quality work and there were several "do overs" that she handled with speed and professionalism to our satisfaction and delight. Our sales rep, Becky Larick (now retired) was equally great in handling our every request for Change Orders and architectural review, spending many hours with us to make sure everything we wanted was properly set in the contract. Finally, their mortgage lender (Thrive Mortgage) represented by Lindsey Kneupper was equally professional and handled our financing without a hitch. So I heartedly recommend Whitestone and its Team of Professionals for any future custom home project.

The documents they use, that are signed by the buyer, are very detailed including standard features, model home exclusions, and change orders. With that information working drawings are created. The buyers are given two opportunities to review and make revisions and then they become buildable construction plans. I don't know any other company that offers that without charging for the plans.

This subdivision is great for first time buyers but the homes do cut corners, no fans installed, no grass backyard, no door knobs on any cabinets, no room for any changes even if you wanted to pay more. They mention during the buying time how much they will HELP, offering names and people but after you get your keys radio silence. I'm still very happy to have my first new home but I went from 5 stars down to 4 stars mainly due to lack of customer service afterwards. Some key points: no closing costs, appliances come with the house, multiple layout plans, simple paperwork, easy. In the process of buying a home! Understand that if you income isn't in a certain bracket you will not get the 0% down loan. We fully researched the area, company, and website which has all the floor plans online, as well as drove through the community. Finally came in to learn more, they ran our info/credit to make sure we qualified. Smart, why give info if you don't even qualify! JASON WILLIAMSON is very informative, very detailed on material, warranty, and home building. Of course he is a salesman, hyped up alot of normal housing points but didn't rush my fiance and I, gave us multiple times alone to discuss our ideas and questions before proceeding. Glad we are choosing LGI! Buying a house should be this simple, informative and exciting! Check them out.

It was a hard inquiry now hurting my credit score. Their entire setup is a gauntlet of aggressive sales and shady pressure tactics. Fear of missing out. Paint the dream. Bait and switch. They do it all ruthlessly. That's fair. But they shouldn't have lied about the credit pull.
