This place is so good!!! The food was amazing, the service was great, and the environment was so welcoming.

This is my second time visiting. After one year later I decided to give them a try again. We dined inside, and there only two other tables being served. I really want to love this place! I couldn't decide between the meatball or grilled cheese sandwich. The waitress suggested the monster grilled cheese($12). I got a side of kettle chips with it. When it arrived, I was surprised to see that it was a toasted cheese sandwich, not the traditional grilled cheese. I wish that would have been mentioned in the menu, because I would not have gotten it if I knew it was toasted. Upon further inspection the cheese in the center was cold, and not melted. The sandwich was cut in half, so I don't know how the cook didn't see this. I had to send it back to get the cheese melted. Also, you could tell the kettle chips were straight from a bad. We both could tell by the taste and how it looked like it was emptied onto the plate. Lots of others make their on chips, this would have been great if you had. A few other things to point out, there was 2 guys playing guitar while we dined. It was impossible to hear each other because of how loud they were. I'm sure if all of the tables were filled then the volume would have been fine. In this case, they could lowered the level. One couple moved outside, we ended up leaving earlier than we would have. The other thing was the employees were in the back of the restaurant arm wrestling and playing on their phones at a high top table, while another was on her laptop facing the diners. This is stuff that would best best done in the back, and especially operating the laptop in an office. Please use this to make some great changes! As I said in the beginning, I really want to love this place! This place is new, so I am sure things on the menu will change. The only appetizer the waitress seemed to be ok with was the lobster rangoon. Everything else I could hear uneasiness in her voice about. With that said, we got a bacon burger and a BLT. The burger came on Texas toast with candied bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle, and spicy mayo. The Texas toast wasn't really toasted, and the burger patty wasn't seasoned at all (or that I could tell). The BLT came with one small leaf of lettuce, 2 small tomato slices and a fair amount of bacon. Not worth the $8 for the BLT. Thankfully the lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle came with burger, so that we could add it to the BLT. I hope this is growing pains, because I want to see more businesses on Main Street again. I only use Yelp when I want to help a business make a change. Fingers crossed. read more

My wife and I were in the area visiting my Mom. We looked up places to eat on the internet and this place seemed interesting, my wife liked the photos. I used to live in Belleville 20 yrs ago with the Main Street having just a few bars but nothing special. Now the main street has really been updated and has some great bars and restaurants, including Copper Fire!. We decided to sit out on the patio because it was a beautiful 70° night. There was a solo guitar player playing inside and he sounded great but it was too nice of a night to pass up the patio. Our waitress was Jackie and she was very attentive and a wonderful waitress. Came back and filled up our drinks anytime we needed one. She was really fun and very knowledgeable about the menu and the offerings. The food was phenomenal, I got the Saturday night special of a butterflied pork chop and my wife got pasta with shrimp. It was soooo delicious, soft and juicy, cooked to perfection! The mac and cheese was fantastic, very cheesy with slight spice. They're lemonade vinaigrette salad dressing is great too. My wife had the shrimp and pasta Cajun Alfredo dish and the shrimp were huge! Overall the whole experience was just beyond wonderful and the food was extraordinarily delicious and awesome! Jackie and the owner made the whole experience even better. We had a fun time and left feeling satisfied and will definitely be back again with friends. I've been to eat a number of times at Copper Fire and it's usually been a good experience but I'd suggest not going during busy times. We visited on Mother's Day. We got a table quickly (outside, which was fine as it was a beautiful day). But we had a terribly long wait for our food to be served and then some of us were finished eating before another got theirs. Had to ask for basic things like napkins, ketchup, salt & pepper, a knife. They had run out of shrimp which is what I'd come for because of previous positive experiences. They had run out of salsa. Then the biggest problem was (and I admit personal fault in this as we should have looked at our bill) that we were charged for an item we didn't receive as it was the one not available. The waitress kept it on our ticket as well as the replacement order. Sorry to have had this experience as we'd taken family members who had not been there and unfortunately they won't be back. I'll return during lunch time hours when things are calmer. read more

Impressively large and high end dining space. Video poker in the rear takes away from the overall feel, but in general, an impressive space right on historic main st. Lobster rangoon appetizer is flat out AMAZING. As much as I love a good sweet chili sauce (non-housemade mix served with the rangoons, having a good mix of sweet chili and fish sauce), I found myself eating the rangoons (good size triangles of puff pastry filled with house made mix of lobster and cream cheese with favorable notes of green onion and smoke) just as they were. Simply fantastic. I chose the candied bacon burger with non-house kettle chips (of which several seasoning options are available) as my entree. I was a bit surprised to see the menu specifically call out that burgers are prepared medium to medium well, as they're doing themselves a small disservice by overcooking a bit. The Texas toast was a bit overdone for my personal preference, and actually made me cough a bit during the first bite, but beyond that however, the candied bacon burger (served with lettuce, onion, tomato, pickles, and a housemade spicy mayo) delivered an excellent experience after the rangoons. My only critique would be to make the standard burger preparation medium rare, as my medium well (I did not specify a temperature) burger was a fair bit dry. All beers were served ice cold and to the very top of the glass. A seemingly obvious, but often overlooked detail. Pleasant surprise of local photography artist gallery (available for purchase) in the rear of space. Overall, an unexpectedly great dining experience highlighted by an amazing appetizer fit for a top tier restaurant. Well played. read more

Food isn't terrible but it's not great either. Servers are nice but inattentive so make sure you ask for refills, only one refill the entire hour. Don't get the tater tots, the tased like they were made in a microwave. If you get chicken take the skin off first, the chicken tastes fine though. This place has potential if they can execute food properly. Turn your music down about 50% so customers can hear what you say when you walk in, live music is great when your ears are t bleeding. read more

Honestly, it's just ok. First time , We went for lunch and was greeted and seated immediately. Second time , got seated but ignored for 15min. Staff was walking by, talking at bar but NO one came to table . We got up and left . I'm in no hurry to go back. A couple of friends had the exact same issue- no one waited on them so they left . I understand the menu is expanding but they really need to cook the food they offer better. It's not about quantity of offerings but quality of what you serve. The lobster Rangoons are not right- first , no lobster at all. Second, the "wrapper" is odd. They are long triangles that were burnt on ends and so hard/crispy that they hard to eat. Everyone knows what a crab Rangoon is - get the right wrapper and actually put lobster in them. The brisket sandwich I had was scant on the meat / high on fat. Every bite was filled with a mouthful of fat - not good. I expect a small amount of fat on bbq, but this was ridiculous. That is a quality control issue. The person making the sandwich should notice that they are just putting a pile of fat on a bun . Guacamole chicken salad.... that's a big no. Love guacamole, love a good chicken salad. Big this was not good . Should have followed the waitresses advice - when asked about it , she scrunched her face up and shook her head . The building is nice , they did a good job of renovating. They just need to hire a better chef and do some service training. Food quality and good service will make customers return, not just nice decor. This place has a lot of potential. We went in there after work 5:35 pm and were seated right away. A gentleman came and took our drink orders and delivered. All was good so far. Then I guess they decided to have an employee meeting while we just sat and sat and sat. Couldn't order an appetizer or our dinner. I had to get up and go to the bar to ask how much our drinks were and we left at 5:52. It's more of a bar than restaurant. Very disappointed. Good luck if you go there. I feel like I wasted an entire evening with my wife and friends. The only saving grace tonight was the demeanor of the waiter who was very nice and thoughtful. I have not been to a restaurant in my memory that had 4 separate dishes with absolutely no flavor. The drinks were cold. Good beer idea from the waiter. Wife and friend ordered fettuccine with chicken/shrimp. No flavor and way over cooked pasta. Appetizer of brisket nachos came out slightly warm. None of the brisket had flavor. My buddy's burger with candied bacon was way overcooked and super dry. The pretzel bun was burnt. I ordered the brisket sandwich with au jus. I wish I had gotten our app before and made my order after. It was the most bland sandwich that I think I've ever had. Even the au jus had no flavor. Discussions at the table lead us to think that most food is frozen and reheated for serving. Lastly there was live music which is great until you realize there is no way to talk to anyone at your table. The acoustics need a lot of work. There is so much squandered potential in this location and I hope management can fix it. Work on flavor. Work on better staff. Until this happens I'd be hard pressed to ever step foot in this restaurant again. read more

I should have known that things wouldn't be going well after the waitress informed us that they were out of bacon, meatloaf, meatballs, and other menu staples. The place was nearly EMPTY, and service was SO SLOW that we left after waiting 40+ minutes for our appetizer. We walked out after two other tables that arrived after us got their food before us. Adult grilled cheese was amazing, but if your high maintenance I would not order it. The brisket was amazing, and the orange glazed wings were like a Asian zing at Buffalo Wild Wings, but milder. But they are AMAZING and HUGE ! I was here on a Friday, very loud band but I enjoy that. Big wrap around square bar and very opened atmosphere. Overall will come back I thought it was awesome. Two stars for the service and beer selection. We were excited when we walked in and saw the place was buzzing. The hostess got us seated quickly and the waitress had us sipping on cold beers in minutes. It was downhill from there. We started with the "jumbo" wings, which arrived soggy and without any attempt at presentation. These were grocery store wing sections without a crisp served on a white plate. Overall, seasoning was Ok and the house blue cheese palatable, but they looked more boiled then fried. With past restaurant experience, we started to look at other apps. They all seemed pale and without any gusto. Disappointment continued with the main course. The tots were atrocious. The freezer burned taste was strong and these were cold and rubbery minutes after arrival. The candied bacon burger lacked pizzazz and the back served it without any of the listed condiments. The meatloaf was dry and flat, saved a bit by the slightly over salted gravy. I'm a big supporter of local establishments and don't demand the finest. Being opened for les than a month may be to blame, but if the menu doesn't improve there may not be a lot of chances to get it right. read more

My husband and I were very disappointed in the food. It came out too fast which told us it was a precooked burger. The burger was dry and tasteless, no juice whatsoever. I had the brisket sandwich and it was dry, tough, fatty and flavorless. I could deal with cutting off the fat since it is brisket, if it was properly prepared. The tots appeared to be baked which is ok but and they were dry as well. The service was ok and the prices are reasonable if they improve the food. I gave constructive feedback and hope it improves. I would love to see them succeed as an eating establishment instead of just a bar. They do need to install soundboards it was very loud. read more

This place was recommended by our niece. We were there on a Friday night and decided to dine outside. Not a lot of customers inside or out. We ordered drinks and food. The waitress brought the drinks out and took our food order. She brought out the salad that came with the entree my husband ordered. She didn't bring salad dressing and we had to ask for salt and pepper. Never got any salad dressing.My husband was maybe halfway into his salad and a food runner brought not only our appetizers but our entrees as well. I had ordered fried ravioli and chili, my husband, shrimp Alfredo fettuccine. The ravioli was warm at best, the chili was like they opened a can and poured it into a bowl. My husband's food was tepid if that. After awhile the waitress came back to check on us and I told her my chili was cold. She acted shocked and took it back to get me a new serving. After awhile she came back out with another dish of chili and proceeded to tell us that the chili was served at 130 degrees. I tried it and again it was cold. When the waitress finally showed up again we told her again the food was cold. She was not a happy camper at this point. Though she apologized we could tell she was pissed. They did take the chili and fettuccine off our bill. Usually at places like this a manager would come to talk about issues such as this but we never saw one. Service was less than mediocre and though the " taste " of the food wasn't bad people expect HOT food to be served HOT. Not impressed with this place. Would not recommend it to anyone. read more

Just ate there yesterday for the first time. Had lunch with large group. The staff was VERY accommodating. Food was very good. I had chicken bacon wrap and lobster rangoon. Wrap was as good as you would get anywhere; fresh lettuce and nice amount of chicken - really good. The lobster rangoon was on another level. I am hooked. If you go there, you have to try it. Pastry of the rangoon was really unique; crunchy but light. Unlike most rangoons where you taste mostly cream cheese, this had a nice balance of lobster meat that you could actually taste. The restaurant is gorgeous inside. It's roomy, clean, and tastefully decorated. It doesn't have that old building/old bar smell that a lot of the downtown restaurants have. I live downtown and eat downtown A LOT. This place is now on my list and will quickly become one of my favorites! CHECK IT OUT. read more

Finally decided to try Copper Fire. On a cold winter place it was a nice respite. Noticed on the menu, they have a dinner split were some items aren't available until after 4 pm. They have some very interesting dessert choices I plan to try in a future visit. We went on Saturday when they start a bingo after 2 pm. The bingo game started shortly before our food arrived so I chose not to play. They have the numbers on a TV so it's easy to keep up with the bingo. I ordered a Reuben and it was delicious. My only minus is we walked in just after they got slammed and it took a little while to get food. There are a lot of TVs and the room can get quite noisy. So if you want quiet or fast I wouldn't recommend it. I enjoyed my visit and do plan to return. read more

Well, I finally got to try Copper Fire after waiting a couple of years for them to open and then their various issues after opening that didn't allow me to eat there sooner. We walked in on a late Saturday afternoon and were able to immediately get seated, it's a nice looking place. It doesn't quite look finished though, a little bare but maybe that's what they are are going for. My menu was also bare, that's right. They handed me a menu book that didn't have an actual menu in it and the waiter eluded people were taking them and it wasn't the first time it had happened. Whatever the case my be he was pleasant and a really good waiter. My food was different, creative idea but I just didn't enjoy it- I had the Guacamole Chicken Sandwich, it was a little dry but dense is how I would mostly describe it, just didn't work on a toasted bun. But the amount of time it took that and my friend's salad to come out was ridiculously quick. They seem to be on their game in the kitchen. I know I've heard they have some new equipment that helps them expedite and cook orders quicker than most and it definitely showed today. So while I wasn't overly impressed with my specific dish my friend was elated with hers, seriously excited over a salad, so I'll give them another shot with a different order. The food and service were great, only gave 4 stars because of limited, yet creative, menu and seemed very loud to me. We had the bacon cheeseburger, flatbread, and adult grilled cheese. Meatballs for appetizer. Just get something with the BACON. It was the star of both dishes. Tater tots need to be upgraded, they were just normal tater tots and did not match the well put together entrees. Wish the menu had more choices, but I'm used to east coast diners with 1000 items on menu. Specifically would like 1 or 2 more salads, and maybe a ribeye or some kind of steak selection. Pricing was varied and appropriate for what you ordered, 3 of us ate, 1 app, 3 entrees, and 1 desert for $45. About $20 cheaper than other similar places we go. Some of the worst food ever. The wings were horrible and we found out that they were baked and tasted old. The buffalo chicken ravioli was soggy and bland. The burger I had was ok but the tater tots were soggy as well. Probably from being baked as well. In fact our server told us that they don't fry anything there. I ate here for the first time today for lunch and was very disappointed in the food. I ordered the meatball sandwhich, and my idea of a meatball sandwhich is that when you bite into it that sauce runs out of the bun and cheese oozes out. Not this sandwhich, it was so dry it could have choaked me and the menu stated your choice of cheese, which I got none and the meatballs were just dipped in sauce, no extra on the bun. The bun was a joke also, who puts meatballs on a split top hamburger bun, you can't even pick it up to eat it. Should have been on a hoagie roll or even hot dog bun. When I asked the manager about the cheese I did not get, he said cheese was extra, which I knew was not what the menu stated. He came back with some extra sauce and advised me that I was right about the cheese, the menu said cheese of your choice, but he said he thought all cheeses were extra. Pretty bad when management doesn't know his own menu. He did say he would make the menu right for me, what the hell did he mean by that! What he should have done was put cheese on my meatball sandwhich, I don't care what he does from this point on, if he wants to charge for the cheese on the over priced sandwhich, that is his choice. But, every meatball sandwhich I ever purchased included cheese. Will not waste my time going back! I am giving one star and that is being extremely generous, but the place was nice. P.S. the order was suppose to include pickles, tomatoes, onion and lettuce which my lunch partner or myself received. read more

This pains me to write, as the staff are so accommodating and sweet, and the service is good. However, the food is so-so, and needs to be brought up to speed. Had dinner here for the first time. 9pm on a Saturday, just 2 of us; restaurant wasn't busy at all. Hostess wasn't very welcoming. Drinks were priced well. Ordered appetizer of Lobster Rangoon - good but didn't taste any lobster - mostly just cream cheese. Side salad came with the wrong dressing. My dinner was great, cajun linguine with shrimp (I think they are trying to be too upscale by calling these "tiger prawns" - it was decent shrimp). My husband is a vegetarian and was disappointed with the vegetarian offerings. He got a Cesar salad, basic, but it was good. He ordered a side of brussel sprouts which were soaked in a balsamic glaze and were very mushy, and asparagus which were also mushy. I ordered a second beer but they didn't bring it to me until they brought my to-go box. I would give them a second chance but my vegetarian husband has no plans to go back. read more

Visited the Copper Fire on April 27, 2018 and we had a great experience. Our server was Conner which provided superb service during our first time experiencing this restaurant. We timed the service because we were informed the service was somewhat slow and still working out the kinks. Conner arrived at our table within 5 min. of being seated to take our drink order. Nine min. our drinks were delivered and food order taken. Appetizer delivered in 12 min., salads delivered 2 min. later, and the main entrée served 16:34 min. after the salads arrived. Our order was completed in 35:49 minutes and the place was crowded and kitchen was buzzing with orders. I think this was awesome service. Conner kept our glasses full and periodically checked on us. And the food was definitely top quality and the menu was very intriguing with interesting options.We will definitely be visiting this establishment for lunch soon. read more

Another bad experience!! I have run out of chances for them, this is strike two! I should have went with my instincts, and what people have told me...poor training, poor service, slow, crabby hostess and very average food - beautiful place, but loud, especially when the music starts. I specifically waited for them to be open more than 30 days, but they have a long way to go!! My girlfriend and I have been anticipating the opening of Copperfire for some time now, as we drive by it while returning home from work on a daily basis. We finally went last night and have never been more disappointed in a restaurant. As we were walking up to the front door, we overheard one couple leaving while stating "literally the worst food ever". When we walked in, there was no hostess and we were greeted by several drunken restaurant patrons who stated "good luck getting service" then laughed. We stood at the hostess stand for over five minutes before one patron at the bar noticed us and told the bartender that people were waiting The "who appeared to be manager" who we could see the whole time, finally set his coffee or latte down and came to greet us. While smacking gum, he sat us down and took our drink order. When the server brought our drinks they were completely wrong. After bringing us the correct drinks, we proceeded to order appetizers (meatballs and wings), the server had to return back to the table twice after ordering to ask us what sauce we wanted with the appetizers. At this time we could see the manager two tables over talking to another couple and giving them a refund for their poor experience. After that, we saw a drunken lady fall out of her seat and knock over several chairs. Not one employee approached the lady to check and see if she was alright. A few minutes later the server returned to take our dinner order, in which she stated they were out of both items we were ordering (meatloaf and chicken). At this point we told her to cancel our appetizers and decided to leave. The entire time, we could not figure out this "identity crisis" of a restaurant. Was it as restaurant, a sports bar, a social house or a club? The walls were bare, a random barn door hanging above the entrance, a jukebox, the noise was overwhelming, the number of easily observable intoxicated patrons were stumbling everywhere, and there were sports playing on all TV. We dine out quite often and this was the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. read more

Very disappointing. I chose to give this establishment a second chance after my first awful experience back in May to only be completely disappointed again. We asked to be seated on the patio which is very nice. Our waitress was very fast to get our drink order. Unfortunately, there is no beer menu so our waitress handed us a hand written list of some of the beers (not all of them) on a receipt paper. She returned with our drinks fairly quickly. We ordered two appetizer that were just ok. Nothing worth the price by any means and nothing too memorable. When the waitress returned to take our dinner order is when the service started to go down hill. Let's just say she was not very nice and became quite rude. Not sure what happened it was a Wednesday evening and it wasn't crowded. As we are waiting on our food we were hoping our waitress would come back to check on us so we could order another drink. We waited 30 minutes when my friend decided to just go to the bar to get us another round where she runs into our waitress and she says she'll be right with us. We then waited another 10 minutes before she finally came back. Our dinner arrives and again it's just so so and really just not good. Overall, would not recommend this spot when there are so many other yummy spots with friendly staff in Belleville. read more
