The space is well-laid out, and all the festive decorations only added to the experience. You can also step out onto several balconies to look over the city skyline. Despite it being a packed evening due to multiple conferences in town, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. For food, we tried the pizza, and it did not disappoint. The cocktails were delicious, and they even offer fun specialty drinks during these themed events. If I find myself back in St. Louis, this is definitely a spot I would make an effort to visit again.

We had some drinks at Bpv to watch football and wanted to check it out for some food. It wasn't crowded and there was plenty of seating. The decor was lovely and a nice way to get in the holiday mood. We all thought the pizzas would be much smaller than they were, we each ordered one and they were huge! I LOVED the birria pizza and have been thinking about it ever since. It was a huge portion for a really good price. Our drinks and service were also good. You can't beat the views from 360 either :)

This included a 4-course meal and a glass of wine. We arrived around 6:50pm to find many other couples standing, waiting to be sat down. We checked in and were told to stand and wait. Around 7:30 pm, several other couples became impatient and were told they may sit at the bar. At this point, many 7:30pm seating time couples had arrived. At 7:45 pm, I watched 2 couples from the bar get seated at tables. I had watched them arrive to the rooftop off the elevator after my husband and I, so I spoke to one of the servers expressing our desire to be seated given it was now almost an hour past our seating time and that couples who had arrived after us were already being seated. To their credit, they sat us quickly, but it continued to go downhill from here. We waited 15 minutes for water, which we only got when we flagged down a server. Our food came out relatively quickly. During our first course, I asked for napkins (every other table had red fabric napkins) and our server brought us like 20 paper cocktail napkins, not ideal for a nice dinner. Our entrees eventually came, although the server brought out two of the cod entrees. My husband ordered steak. He brought my husband's steak, which he ordered medium, however when he cut in it was obviously rare. It was sent back. The next steak was also rare. We spoke with who appeared to be running the event and he stated he agreed it was rare (bleeding on the plate.) Finally on the third try, we received a medium rare steak, not as ordered, but close enough and at this point we wanted out of there as it was past 10 pm. Mind you, at this point we could feel the anger and frustration radiating from all of the 8/8:30 pm seating people who were still waiting on tables. We left quickly when our meal was done. We had one refill of water the entire 2hrs we were eating our meal. We were not asked if we wanted anything else to drink. This was a small event, maybe 15 tables. I'm not sure if it was overbooked, underpowered, or if they simply were just unprepared, but I've never had such a poor experience at a restaurant.

The loud DJ music didn't make sense giving that there wasn't a party happening or a dance floor available for people to dance. Because of this, conversations were difficult to have with a whole table. It makes sense if you're on an intimate date and sitting right next to the person, so you can whisper in each other's ears. However, if you're with a full party of people at a table then you'll find yourself almost yelling across the table or even to the person right next to you just to be heard. I didn't order any food but my friends had some desserts when I arrived. The key lime pie which looked like a traditional cheesecake & the Kit Kat dessert which looked like squares of fudge with some crunchy stuff on top that resembled slivered almonds. Both desserts looked delicious. The names of the desserts just didn't align with arrived. NEITHER tasted like what they were called. I ordered Tequila and orange juice. BEFORE completing my order, I tripled check the price with the waitress who was serving us that night. She told me that the tequila was $12. I was confused because a lot of the drink menu started at $15. She then reassured me it was $12 and explained "it's because we don't charge for chasers. Just for the liquor". Okay, cool. I handed her my card, paid for the drink, and closed my tab. Later, my friend decided we all get a round of shots which I later found out her friend paid for. However, the server charged me AGAIN for my ONE drink AND for the shot which was $11. When I looked at my receipt it showed $39. This was for an $11 shot AND my ONE drink where I was actually charged $19. When I asked the server about it she kept insisting she "never" discussed price with me. (MAYBE if the music weren't so loud, hmmm) We def discussed price. I shut my conversation down with her and began complaining to someone within my party about what happened. The server then kept jumping in our conversation to defend the "we never discussed pricing" lies. We did. I was charged for my ONE drink TWICE and for the SHOT that someone else paid for. ALSO, after 9pm, this place charges a $10 entrance fee. You have to pay to go to a restaurant that's not even really giving club vibes or even offering anything special that another restaurant/bar is offering (food, drinks, music). I paid it ONLY because of my friend's birthday. Will I go here again? Probably not. I'm plant based and don't really drink alcohol much. It gives college kids vibes and date night vibes,

To get to the Maryland House you start out in a courtyard and then take an elevator (or stairs) to the top of the building. It is a fun, almost speakeasy type entrance. Maryland House has an indoor area and then a relatively large outdoor space. The crowd has had a lot of energy and a good vibe every time I've been. Overall it tends to be crowded. There is a food menu, but I will be honest I've only ever come later at night. The drink selection is very good although when it is very crowded it can be hard to order. The last time I was at Maryland House was after my sister-in-law's wedding. They had actually paid to reserve space. When we got there though, nothing was set aside. It was pretty frustrating. After about 30 minutes they opened up a side room for us. It was late though, and that kind of took the wind out of the sales. I'm not sure what happened there, and it was kind of a dud way to end the night.

The inside is dark and dimly lit which sets a nice mood. The vibe is a cool mix of modern, classy, and a little grungy all at once and it really well. I walked by a private area that had a wedding shower going on, so they have good event space too. We were seated on the patio area which is covered with shade, so it was comfortable and still felt like part of the whole atmosphere. The cocktail menu is so fun, they all have hilarious names and I love that. We ordered a bunch to share around the table. The toasted marshmallow cocktail is an absolute must. So good. For food we got a bunch of shareables. The charcuterie platter is great for a big group, easy to grab as you please. The salmon dish was so yummy and the flatbread was simple but really solid. Our waitress was sweet and friendly throughout the whole night. I also heard they do events here pretty regularly, like weekly or monthly, and I really want to come back for one of those. Definitely a spot I'll be returning to!

We wrapped up our informal wander through the fabulous Delmar Loop and drifted up here for a final drink, a skyline check and that signature rotating oversized Moon glowing over the building. By pure luck, it was a full moon over Saint Louis too which felt a little on the nose in the best possible way. The rooftop is solid, a clear arc of the city that makes you slow down to appreciate the view. The space itself is exactly what you want at the end of the night. Open, relaxed and elevated enough to feel like a finale without trying too hard. The music was much louder than I'd prefer and not an artist I'd ever queue up for a mellow nightcap and it did sort of get in the way of the vibe. The kitchen had already closed, which killed the idea of a final nibble with our round of drinks. The bartender did offer the workaround of having DoorDash delivered to the bar but we weren't going to hang around that long. The Old Fashioned he put together was excellent, balanced and smooth. Just what I needed as my Fitbit clocked over 10k steps. As a final stop on a Loop night, the Moonrise works beautifully. You get the view of downtown Saint Louis in the distance, the atmosphere, the giant Moon doing its thing and a comfortable landing spot before calling it a night. The atmosphere is vibrant and creative, and the staff truly made it exceptional. Brayden, Nyla, and Adam went above and beyond--attentive, welcoming, and genuinely engaging. They made every visit feel special. The front desk team also deserves recognition. Tia and Nyla provided outstanding service throughout my stay--professional, warm, and always ready to help. My yellow suite was absolutely stunning--beautifully designed, comfortable, and a unique touch that really elevated the experience. That said, there were a couple of downsides. The Commonwealth restaurant was inconsistent at best. Service ranged from slow to nonexistent, and the food didn't quite live up to expectations. I also experienced an issue with housekeeping not locking my door after servicing the room, which was concerning. However, Jonathan, the General Manager, handled the situation with professionalism and care. He was very apologetic and made sure my concerns were addressed, which I truly appreciated. Overall, while there are areas for improvement, the exceptional staff and unique atmosphere make this hotel stand out. With a bit more consistency, it could easily be a top-tier experience.
