The menu follows right along with their creative, seasonal, and whimsical creations. I was here was a very last minute planned birthday gathering after a series of unfortunate events leading up to my birthday kept planning from happening sooner. There were only 6 of us, but they still made sure the dinner was spectacular and special for my birthday. The food was phenomenal and I need a whole series to go over the plethora of wines, beers, mocktails, cocktails, and more they offer! Having a mocktails list for my bestie was just an added bonus on top of everything else! I can't wait to come back again and try more deliciousness! Open the door, follow the hallway labeled "The Bellwether" to the elevator, select floor 3, enjoy the experience!

The parking lot had spaces available. We walked in and there was an event space on the right and a large sofa and chairs against the back wall. Signs indicated where to go for Bellwether so we went around the windows showing the climbing wall to the elevator. Upstairs we were greeted promptly and asked if we wanted to sit inside or out. We opted for inside and she led us down one level to the second floor. I think the building is really cool, and the restaurant is well appointed, exposed brick, cool lantern hanging lamps, bookshelves filled with books and odds and ends, Waitress was friendly, there were only a couple of tables on the floor, but she wasn't intrusive and let us take out time. It filled up more by the time we left. The menu had several things I wanted to order but ended up deciding on the breakfast fried rice. We also ordered the cinnamon roll for the table. Coffee was hot and kept refilled, but it was just ok. The cinnamon roll was tasty. The fried rice was great and the fried egg on top was well cooked and tasty. One of our party ordered a side of sausage, it was four links and they were good, another ordered the pork belly sandwich and that was one of my other choices, I tried it and was impressed! I thought it would be too sweet, but it was perfect. Viewing the pictures of dinner, can't wait to go back for that and sitting outside!

This included a 4-course meal and a glass of wine. We arrived around 6:50pm to find many other couples standing, waiting to be sat down. We checked in and were told to stand and wait. Around 7:30 pm, several other couples became impatient and were told they may sit at the bar. At this point, many 7:30pm seating time couples had arrived. At 7:45 pm, I watched 2 couples from the bar get seated at tables. I had watched them arrive to the rooftop off the elevator after my husband and I, so I spoke to one of the servers expressing our desire to be seated given it was now almost an hour past our seating time and that couples who had arrived after us were already being seated. To their credit, they sat us quickly, but it continued to go downhill from here. We waited 15 minutes for water, which we only got when we flagged down a server. Our food came out relatively quickly. During our first course, I asked for napkins (every other table had red fabric napkins) and our server brought us like 20 paper cocktail napkins, not ideal for a nice dinner. Our entrees eventually came, although the server brought out two of the cod entrees. My husband ordered steak. He brought my husband's steak, which he ordered medium, however when he cut in it was obviously rare. It was sent back. The next steak was also rare. We spoke with who appeared to be running the event and he stated he agreed it was rare (bleeding on the plate.) Finally on the third try, we received a medium rare steak, not as ordered, but close enough and at this point we wanted out of there as it was past 10 pm. Mind you, at this point we could feel the anger and frustration radiating from all of the 8/8:30 pm seating people who were still waiting on tables. We left quickly when our meal was done. We had one refill of water the entire 2hrs we were eating our meal. We were not asked if we wanted anything else to drink. This was a small event, maybe 15 tables. I'm not sure if it was overbooked, underpowered, or if they simply were just unprepared, but I've never had such a poor experience at a restaurant.

My friends and I ordered the potstickers, arancini, and elevated fries along with some drinks. The arancini are my absolute favorite and it's the perfect amount to share (or hoard!). The fries were good but a tad dry and should come with some of their delicious aioli on the side. Luckily our server was kind enough to bring us out some when we asked. The potstickers were solid and I really enjoyed both the Side Car & Espresso Martini and would order them again. My only complaint, and why I knocked a star, is that I was overcharged - and this is not the first time it's happened here. Handing you the machine with only your total displayed with the expectation of immediately tapping your card and tipping doesn't give you the opportunity to review your bill at all. I didnt bring the overcharge to my server's attention because she was busy and there were 5 of us checking out at once. Maybe I'm old school but would love to have a ticket to review my charges before swiping to pay.

The fire pits outside are nice if it's not brutally cold and it's overall a nice place to gather and hang out. They have mostly small plates that are kind of pricy for what it looks like you get. The fries are really good if you like salt and vinegar chips. They may be too tangy, salty of you don't. I got the beignets. To my surprise they were hot and delicious with a berry compote for dipping that was also tasty. I would definitely recommend getting those.

Advertisements on social media were fantastic. I was actually fighting to get here to partake in all the festivities of the supposedly fun food , drink and picturesque moments. Starting off this disaster of an evening parking is unheard of. Nowhere on the website does it tell you parking is limited street parking and because it's located in a hotel the parking lot is reserved for guest! I'm so happy I actually found someone leaving and grabbed the parking space. It's paying parking lots and garages all around and I'm telling you it's not worth the $20/30 fee at all. Once we get to the ph floor you get off the elevator make two lefts and that is literally the bar. Very limited seating and bar space. Limited staff and jammed packed. Mediocre props and lighting. Rooftop vibes would have been nice and spacious and more seating but the weather was not accommodating so that is why it was packed on the inside I'm guessing. FYI if you're going to try the pop up experience you have to make it comfortable for all customers . There should have been some heaters outside and fire pits . I was very disappointed in this experience and I will not be back . I'm giving two stars only for the advertising , view and tricking me down here !

They gave us a menu with food and drinks, so we tried to order and was told none of the food items were available for the pop-up either. Drinks were pretty decent, but the food wasn't. We waited quite a while for it. Ended up ordering two carpaccios (because they said they were out of almost everything else), 1 No. 2 maki, and one sushi board. The food came out all mixed up or just we had no idea what we got, and no one explained it to us. Sushi rice was uncooked and fish was not fresh :( portions were small and confusing (?) I understand that they are more of a cocktail bar but since we made a "dining" reservation, I was expected to have food to eat. Service was super mid. Our waiter seemed really unhappy to be there. We left after 10 mins of having food to find real food :) Overall, just a bad experience.

We wrapped up our informal wander through the fabulous Delmar Loop and drifted up here for a final drink, a skyline check and that signature rotating oversized Moon glowing over the building. By pure luck, it was a full moon over Saint Louis too which felt a little on the nose in the best possible way. The rooftop is solid, a clear arc of the city that makes you slow down to appreciate the view. The space itself is exactly what you want at the end of the night. Open, relaxed and elevated enough to feel like a finale without trying too hard. The music was much louder than I'd prefer and not an artist I'd ever queue up for a mellow nightcap and it did sort of get in the way of the vibe. The kitchen had already closed, which killed the idea of a final nibble with our round of drinks. The bartender did offer the workaround of having DoorDash delivered to the bar but we weren't going to hang around that long. The Old Fashioned he put together was excellent, balanced and smooth. Just what I needed as my Fitbit clocked over 10k steps. As a final stop on a Loop night, the Moonrise works beautifully. You get the view of downtown Saint Louis in the distance, the atmosphere, the giant Moon doing its thing and a comfortable landing spot before calling it a night. I even got to watch my Royals (that's right STL, my ROYALS) win game 6 of the World Series in resounding fashion up on the rooftop here. Good times. A dozen or so years later, feeling nostalgic, and having struck out on some downtown STL hotels, I opted to come back here. Unlike my Royals, this place has still got it. Friendly staff upon check-in, and they let me know they don't have valet which I was honestly relieved about. When I'm traveling solo, I sort of just want access to my car, not to have to wait 15 minutes to go to the trouble of retrieving a phone charger out of my console. There is a little lot in the back that they'll check if you're a guest before allowing you in during busy periods. The room was nice, and the elevators are quick. The shower pressure is WAY better than I remember, at least it was on the third floor. The bed was insanely comfortable, and really, no complaints. The one issue was the little room couch was filthy in my room, with visible stains and grossness.. I just avoided it during my stay. The rest of the room was clean. No hotel gym that I noticed, but not far from Forest Park if you want to jog or walk (beware the insane STL drivers). I also took my takeout dinner to the rooftop which was nice, but not yet open for the season. I still appreciate them letting me up there for some fresh air and views. Lastly, the Delmar Loop has quite a bit! This area offers good coffee shops, a store, tons of quality restaurants, and all within walking distance. Nice place overall, and definitely in my consideration every time I come to STL.

The concept of the hotel is wonderful and brilliant, the reality was disappointing. The hotel is incredibly dirty, not just the rooms but the main common areas - entrances, rooftop bar, downstairs breakfast/lounge area. The drinks came in cheap, cracked plastic glasses and were unpleasant. The food was not only bad but uninspired and overpriced. I ordered a $27 charcuterie board and got a literal block of white cheddar and yellow cheddar - the kind you buy from Walmart in bulk, some salami slices, a couple dried apricots and 6 blueberries. The room design was awesome - unfortunately it was covered in other people's hair and multiple things were broken. The sink was clogged and the bathtub was clogged and wouldn't drain. There was no soap and no coffee pods and no one ever answered the phone when I called the front desk. I would never ever stay here again and caution anyone else against it. Pick a different hotel.

The atmosphere is vibrant and creative, and the staff truly made it exceptional. Brayden, Nyla, and Adam went above and beyond--attentive, welcoming, and genuinely engaging. They made every visit feel special. The front desk team also deserves recognition. Tia and Nyla provided outstanding service throughout my stay--professional, warm, and always ready to help. My yellow suite was absolutely stunning--beautifully designed, comfortable, and a unique touch that really elevated the experience. That said, there were a couple of downsides. The Commonwealth restaurant was inconsistent at best. Service ranged from slow to nonexistent, and the food didn't quite live up to expectations. I also experienced an issue with housekeeping not locking my door after servicing the room, which was concerning. However, Jonathan, the General Manager, handled the situation with professionalism and care. He was very apologetic and made sure my concerns were addressed, which I truly appreciated. Overall, while there are areas for improvement, the exceptional staff and unique atmosphere make this hotel stand out. With a bit more consistency, it could easily be a top-tier experience.
