Last time in at Loveland, Lola was checked by Dr. Smith who was very knowledgeable noticed Lola belly, she said we need a blood test and said something going on inside her belly , we need a ultrasound and that when doctors found it and said it been there growing for a few years, I heard Dr. Smith moved and I wished I could have thanked her before she left. At least we know what is going on with our dog now, and we will give her quality of life until she goes.

It's taken me a while to stir up the courage to write this review but I feel what I experienced at…read morethe clinic needs to be shared, it might save another animals life. I brought my cat here in 2019 when she wasn't feeling well and I needed to get her seen asap. St Michael's had many open appointments and told me to bring her in. I should of seen this as a first red flag, but when they needed to run testing, they absolutely wouldn't allow me to be with my cat to comfort her during testing and instead brought her into some back room where I couldn't see her or anything other going on. They were very rude and adamant about this and I was trying to trust their judgment but I heard my cat screaming back there and I was mortified to hear that. It was absolutely not normal and not necessary because she had always been curious and loving at previous clinics. Never once have I experienced her having a reaction like this at a vet and it still hurts my heart today thinking that they could have hurt her and I didn't have any idea or chance to stop them. Once testing was done, she was diagnosed with kidney disease. I was offered one route of treatment only, even after trying to explain that I needed something doable, being a college student and caregiver for my mother at the time. After this, I was prescribed the most expensive options available. A $45 bag of SubQ fluids, which were so expensive due to added electrolytes, every two weeks, and the most expensive bag of KD cat food that they carried, which ended up starving my cat because she would not eat it. After I told them that the treatment they gave me was not working for her, Whitnee had the audacity to sit in the room and tell me that I needed to euthanize her because I could not afford it. I can't believe that they tried to convince me that killing my cat was better than finding any other route of treatment to help her. I decided to move to a different veterinarian and seek a second opinion, where they prescribed her a $12 simple bag of fluids, worked with me with finding a food that would work for my cat and let me be in the room to hold my cat during our visits. My childhood companion cat is now 21 years old and has surpassed seven more years of life as a very happy girl. I'm so glad I didn't listen to the b of an owner Whitnee Patten at St Michael's, who loves to laugh in your face because shes smarter than you by the way, and sought out another opinion. The visits at this clinic traumatized my cat for a very long time but also traumatized me taking her to any vet after. They might have a couple nice techs but these people are not animal lovers, definitely not cat people, and would rather kill your pet over money then waste time finding a solution you both can maintain. Avoid them at all costs.

I've been doing a bit more business travel lately, which has made the question of what to do with…read moremy dogs (3 standard poodles) a point of stress -- no longer. Creature Comforts is a nice facility in west Loveland, practically in the foothills. Most importantly, it is run by people who love dogs, which was very apparent when I picked my dogs up. Sure, they were happy to see me, but were happy and bright -- they didn't seem stressed at all (and yes, there have been occasions where I've come home to find clingy, seemingly attention-starved dogs when I've picked them up from other boarding facilities in Ft. Collins). Some other nice details: * they have a larger "family" kennel that can accommodate multiple dogs from the same household, so my 3 poodles were able to board together at a very reasonable cost. * The kennels are truly indoor-outdoor kennels so that during the day your dogs have free access in or out -- they are not cooped-up in the kennel the majority of the time as you will find at other kennels that do not have this indoor-outdoor access. * There is a caretaker on-site 24x7 -- with a breed that is prone to bloat (a medical emergency that often occurs in the middle of the night & that has considerable morbidity/mortality if not treated quickly) it is good to know that someone will be there, and that with my pre-authorization they will be taken to a vet to get help. * They will give you dogs medication/supplements at no additional cost -- quite a contrast to the place that not only was going to charge extra for administering meds, but wanted a note from my vet saying that my older poodle was safe to board. * For a very reasonable ($2.50-$3.50) cost, you can set-up short, well-supervised playtimes or walks around the property for your dogs. Having a choice was really nice, since my older dog does need to get out for exercise, but has back and neck issues that make me worry about her playing with other dogs. The younger dogs are rough-and-tumble types, so the playtime was perfect for them. * They keep track of how your dogs are doing. You'll get a little report card when you pick your dogs up with notes on things you might have worried about while you were away -- whether they were eating, how they behaved, whether they played well with other dogs. If you have occasion to talk to the owner, she'll know how your dogs did during their stay, too. * Check-out was very organized -- all of the stuff (beds, blankets, toys, food, medication, etc.) were neatly piled in the lobby when I walked-in to pick up my dogs, washable items having been freshly-laundered.

First meeting Emily she took the time to not only get to know the in and outs of the issues with my pups but took the time to get to know me. We sat and talked for over an hour. Emily took notes and made sure to reassure me that she would send everything to me in an email so I wasn't overwhelmed. She then worked with my pups and demonstrated the tools I would be using. She was never negative about the issues with my dogs. Within the next couple of days I received the email instructions and I was so thankful. I started using the training instructions and my dogs showed REMARKABLE PROGRESS! My baby girl Georgia developed leash aggression and I was afraid to take her on walks because she would get into "arguments" with other dogs and people. I used the training diligently and I noticed an immediate change. I also used Emily's other tips like leaving the TV on for them while I was at work, letting them enjoy their walks by sniffing and not trying to pull them away and playing more games with them. My dog's attitudes completely changed. By the next time Emily came around they were like different puppies. There was so much harmony and happiness I was thrilled! Emily is absolutely amazing. She really knows her stuff when it comes to dogs and dog behavior. We…read morerecently moved in to a dog friendly apartment in Boulder which is a problem as our dog, Shaggy, is dog reactive when he is on a leash (lunges and barks at other dogs). We called Emily, who met with us for almost an hour and a half. She came up with an individual training plan for Shaggy as well as helped us trouble shoot problem areas such as the elevator. We have been working with Shaggy for about a month and I already can see improvements. We now can walk on the other side of a street from a dog without him even caring. She has also helped come up with a "management plan," that involves finding escape routes and what to do when Shaggy does react. The best part about Emily is that she always makes herself available to help. Whenever I have a question I can text her and get a ready reply. On multiple occasions she has also been a great person to lean on and talk to when Shaggy has a large blow up. She even said that her job is one part dog trainer one part human trainer/councilor. She also lets me meet with her a few times a week in order to use her dog for practice sessions with Shaggy. Over this past month I have gone from frustration and embarrassment with my dog to pride and excitement over Shaggy's improvement. I can tell that he is much happier and less stressed on walks as well. I cannot thank Emily enough for all her help, and I HIGHLY recommend her for any type of dog training (especially leash reactivity).
