They could see me up until 815 but she made me sit in the car until 820 and never got back to me and then when I went in, she told me well I'm sorry we can't see you. This is the worst Veterinary in Greeley. They gave my dog the wrong vaccines and still wanted me to pay for the vaccines THEY GAVE him on top of paying for his actual vaccines . Not to mention that he was also misdiagnosed. Receptionists are very rude and even called me names. They are not responsible, they have no accountability and have no communication, and definitely not a professional work place. They confused my german shepherd for a Rottweiler. These are people who apparently work with dogs. But they are clearly too busy sniffing each others main street and instead of having a professional work environment. read more

I just wish they were more emotional when a persons pet has died. Because when they left a message sounding like they found her safe like they sounded excited when I got there with my kids and husband to retrieve my cat they told us that she was dead we all got upset and my youngest took it hard. They shouldnt never sound excited when they leave a message if the animals is not alive I understand that they can't leave a message that their is dead but you should never sound excited about the animals. I've been going to Alpine Vet since 1982. Dr. Frank was excellent and very caring for both animal and owner. I have to admit that I was scared to change vets when he retired. To my surprise and glee, Dr. Liz Clark is even better than her predecessor! Liz has actually left home on a Sunday to treat my kitty. I felt compelled to post since when looking up the phone number to give these folks a call, the only review that appeared is "J.O."s review which I find difficult, if not entirely impossible, to believe. My wife and I added a dog to our family nearly 2 years ago and, at my in-laws recommendation due to the many years they've taken their dogs there and boasted of exemplary care, we elected to use Alpine as our veterinary clinic. 2 years and another dog later, I couldn't imagine taking my pets anywhere else. The vets are people that obviously love animals and prioritize giving them the best care possible. The experience has always reflected that our dogs are like family to Dr. Liz and Dr. Sharkey. They are known by name and have been treated with love and compassion with each visit. I couldn't say enough good things about this facility and feel very fortunate to have a great veterinary clinic so close to home, particularly when hearing the occasional horror stories from friends and colleagues that can't say the same for their veterinary clinics. Yes, this is a great Vet! My wife and I have recently moved out of Greeley, and let me tell you, we cannot find a Vet of this quality anywhere. The prices are also reasonable, which is a huge bonus. We have taken our 3 dogs to 5-6 different Vets over the years, and the quality of care here is so far above and beyond any of the others. The Vet techs, in addition to the Veterinarian, are very knowledgeable, compassionate and genuinely interested in the well being of your pet. My wife and I started to take our dogs here while we in college, so it's very affordable. With our recent move to the Denver metro area, most Vets that we've come across seem to be more interested in making money than providing quality care. As a small business owner, I don't mind when a business attempts to make a profit. You won't be disappointed with the value and quality of care this Vet provides. read more

I have been taking my cat and dog to Alpine for almost 7 years and can't say enough good things about them. They really care for your pets. We've been through a lot over the years and they've always provided consistent and affordable care. My cat had to have a tail amputation and my dog had to have surgery on her ACL. I went with an older friend of mine to take her dog in to see Dr.Liz Clark. The place was filthy and smelled horrible. After waiting we were taken into an exam room. Dr. Clark was very rude she had absolutely no customer service skills. Dr.Clark did not like being asked questions and acted very irrate when she would reply. I will never suggest this Vet to anyone. This vet tried to tell me that I was unfit to take care of my dog when I came in with a very sick dog, not knowing what was wrong with the poor lil guy and looking for professional help (my dogs eat premium food, get groomed regularly, and get so much love they're basically giant teddy bears). Alpine takes advantage of its clients by insisting in unnecessary visits and tests. They are crooks. The vets do not take the time to relay information, rather the vet techs call and have to constantly put you on hold while they seek out answers from the vet. I wish I could give ZERO stars. Here is a snippet of our issues with Alpine: My girlfriend and I adopted a kitten from the Humane Society. We took her to Alpine for the 1 week checkup because she started developing a patch of missing fur on her shoulder. The vet suggested it could be due to stress. I asked if it wasn't stress what it could be. They suggested ringworm and they could run a test. They ran the test, but it was compromised and they couldn't tell if it was ringworm or not. The patch became worse and they said I could use a spray to fight the ringworm (if it were ringworm). Not a huge expense, but the vet bills were adding up. We tried the fungal spray for a week, but the patch was getting even worse. I called the vet (mind you I never actually got to speak with a vet, only a vet tech) and they said it could be a bacterial infection. I asked how to treat it, the tech had to run and ask the vet, then get back to me. They insisted I bring our kitten in so they can run more tests. I did not want to spend another $50 on a visit, plus whatever other medication they prescribed which wouldn't work. We decided to take her to Raintree Animal Hospital in Fort Collins, a bit of a drive, but the care was exceptional. The veterinarian spent time with us and presented every chance to us. Instead of constantly running tests and prescribing medication that treats only one ailment, we were given a cream that would fight off fungus and bacterial infections. If that didn't work, it would leave only mites as the cause of the skin issue. We spent over $200 at Alpine and got NO answers, only insistence on bringing the kitten in over and over again to rack up vet visit bills and useless tests. We spent a fraction of that at Raintree and it fought off nearly all of the possibilities of infection. The vets at Alpine do not present you with information. If it weren't for my constant asking of questions I wouldn't have gotten even an ounce of information out of them. They insist on unnecessary tests and visits to try to get as much money from you as they can. read more

We have had nothing but good experiences with Alpine. Dr. Clark is wonderful and a very compassionate animal lover. When our dog was really sick, she came in after hours just to check on him. And our dog loves coming in, unlike other places we've taken him. They are very affordable as well. I would highly recommend Alpine to anybody. read more

They read our paperwork wrong and did not give a heartworm test when one was due but prescribed the medication. The guilt should be enough (dogs can die from worm overload), but I had to pay hundreds to go to another vet. If you go here, have your ducks in a row! read more

Whatever you do, please do not take your beloved pet to this place. After making an appointment for a sick pet, the first and only thing the Doctor was concerned about was giving my cat a RABIES SHOT. This is a 15 yr. old cat who I brought out in the cold to be treated for a UTI and all the Doctor could immediately demand was that she get a RABIES SHOT. When I expressed my disbelief, she said "she wasn't going to argue" with me but that she wouldn't treat my animal. This, after the paperwork was completed, my previous Vet was called for "records" and my cat's temperature was taken. Do NOT waste your time going here, I literally wasted my time and my poor cat has to wait another day to be treated but at least it will be with a Vet who CARES about her. read more

We have taken our 2 month old puppy (now 8 month old) to Alpine since the day we got him to do all of the initial puppy vaccines and routine check ups. All of those visits were wonderful! The staff was friendly and everyone was so interested in us, probably because of our super cute puppy. Now, 6 months later we have a huge, almost full grown dog, who does not have the best manners and is super strong but is still a puppy/baby. There were two occurrences where I was just unsure of the quality of care and customer service. The first occurrence we were concerned our puppies ears were not going to stand up and were looking for suggestions, advise, tips and tricks, etc... in passing we asked Dr. Clark and she said "I know nothing." We were very shocked by her semi rude response and kind of just let it go and we figured it out on our own thanks to Google and YouTube. Now second occurrence, we came into Alpine for our puppy to get looked because of a swollen nipple. We were on time for our appointment, but waited 35 minutes to get roomed and see a doctor. We were instructed to pin down our dog on his back so she could examine the swollen area (this took 4 of us) when i feel like she could have examined him differently without pinning him down, stressing him out and scaring him. Dr. Clark later said we really need to put our dog in obedience class, which I took offensive. We have been in 2 different 6 week courses. He is till a baby and learning, and anyone would fight back when you try and pin him to the ground. She diagnosed his swollen nipple as dust and debris got inside of it and gave us a medicine to help with the swelling. After receiving the medicine I looked at the bottom of the pill bottle to see how large these pills are and noticed a large bumble bee size with fuzzy hair sticking to the bottom of the bottle. I asked the nurse, is that the pill? She looked at it and wasn't sure. She took it to the back and returned with a new bottle and new pills. I asked, what was that. She replied "It was a mass." I asked "what is a mass." She said "a mass is something we cut off another dog and was sending it to the lab the get tested." At that point I was very concerned that a simple medication could not get filled correctly. Driving home I had a sick feeling in my stomach and was nervous to return there. I quickly found another local vet and his swollen nipple is actually infected and requires an antibiotic, not just dust and debris. I am not really sure how to rate Alpine...we had very good care in the beginning but do not feel comfortable returning based off of our last visit. I feel like Dr. Clark was very judgey and actually find of rude during our last visit, and pinning down my dog is not the best practice at least for us. Finding a good vet is hard, but I don't plan on returning after our last visit. read more

Couldn't be more disappointed. This vet does not have an animal's best interest in mind only money. My cat needs a special food so she can potty without struggling. She is healthy otherwise and completely indoors so not at risk of exposure to diseases or parasites. You need a prescription for this food. Yes food not medicine just food. I brought her in and paid for a visit despite her being healthy other wise so I could purchase food. That's $48 for a visit and $40.80 for a 8.8 lb bag of Royal Canin. So that is $88 for 9 lbs of food plus tax. I now need more food and live in a different state. A local veterinarian won't sell me the food without a prescription and said I could get the last vet to fax a copy to them. They said it didn't matter that the vet was out of state that they do it all the time-- receive and send from other states. Alpine won't send it saying they can't prescribe out of state. Not true! It is not medicine even. It's just FOOD! This is not right. So I had to take my +20 year old cat an hour away to a vet who carries this food. This new vet was disgusted with Alpine for not just faxing the prescription. The new vet didn't even charge me an office visit after she heard the circumstances. She wrote me a prescription and assured me she would update it anytime and anywhere I was with my cat. That's a vet who cares. I wish I had read the reviews on here before I saw Clark at Alpine. She was rude through the whole office visit for my dog and cat. She acted like I was wasting her precious time and still only spent about 5 minutes with me for 2 animals and 2 office visit charges plus food plus a year's worth of heartworm medicine for my dog and a year's worth of flea medicine for the dog. It's a shame your receptionist can't tell a potential client if your clinic uses non-adjuvented vaccines on your feline patients. I have to say this is the worst clinic that I have been to. Dr Liz Clark is the rudest vet that I ever had to deal with. She is very confrontational and does not have any customer service skills at all. As far as I'm concerned she misdiagnose my dog and make the situation even worse with her. After I got a second opinion, The new veterinarian actually listen to my concerns, and she went with a whole different treatment. I have to say that my little dog is cured of her problem. No thanks to Dr. Clark who just aggravated her condition. This is too bad because I think Dr. Clark took over the clinic last July and this used to be a very good clinic to go to. read more

I've lived in Greeley, all my life and I've been to most of the vet clinics in town. Alpine is our secret, they are one of the best out here. My children have pretty much tried almost every vet clinic in town and we agree, Alpine is our preferred. The staff and doctors are great. They have a gal their named Wendy who is Alpine's secret weapon. That gal should get a raise for the extra effort she put into our family one Saturday afternoon. Love this place. Have been going there for about ten years. Dr Liz has shown complete professionalism as has her staff. Dr. Liz and her staff have always shown a sincere interest in our pet. She has discussed, in detail, any health problems our pet is suffering from and the best way to fix it. This is especially helpful since our cat is getting older. I have had many experiences with these great people. I have brought my cats to them for wellness checks as well as for pain management and for euthanizing. In each instance, they were kind, patient, knowledgable and extremely reasonably priced. They obviously care about the animals they treat and they have their own pets who live there and seem to calm mine in some cool animal communication. They even have rescued animals who were injured, they treated until they were well enough to adopt out and have them right there for your perusal. My pets are like a sister or brother to me. Horrible experience for both myself and more importantly my 9 week old puppy with an ear infection!! The vet pressed his ear, which by his reaction really hurt, duh!!! The puppy naturally snapped, didn't bite or draw blood, and the vet/owner immediately slapped the sh*t out of the puppy with her open hand on the infected ear, she then muzzled the puppy and chewed me out for having an aggressive "9 week old puppy"!! I was stunned and very angry to say the least!!! She did treat the ear infection and charged me $150 for the abuse..... My dogs ears are cropped, I know, but they are and I needed help with taping and she refused. She did however recommend a fantastic vet down the street - Belaire Animal Hospital just down the street at 35th and hwy34, they are hands down the best vet I've ever been to and I thank them for that!! read more

I took my cat there and they did a thorough exam and got her all fixed up and vaccinated. The doctors and staff were extremely friendly and cared a lot about my cat. I would never intentionally do something to harm a animal. I am writing this as I have had a horrible experience with Alpine Animal Clinic in Greeley, CO and want to warn others of just what might happen if you take a POSSIBLY ILL PUPPY to them. My little guy is from the Navajo Reservation, and apparently that "scared" them at this clinic. I made the appointment because he couldn't hold his food down if he ate to fast. No bowel problems, no fever, nothing else wrong. They made the appointment and them called me back to tell me to keep him in the car when we got there and just come in and let them know he was there. Well, dumb me, I figured it being in the high 80s to 90s it was just to hot to keep him in so I let him come out by the picnic table to stay cool. FIRST a tech came out and said he wasn't to be on the ground as he may have PARVO. I have seen what that does to animals and Max did not have it. But we said OK. Our son took him back to the PU and she looked him over but did nothing other than look at him and talk to us. Then instead of sitting in the hot truck, our son sat down with him on his lap and did not let him onto the ground. Out comes the tech with someone whom I THINK was a vet and the vet proceeded to chew me out up one side and down another because our dog probably had parvo. When my husband spoke up she really got mad and informed us to take our business elsewhere. I have never met with a more unprofessional person in my life. WE DID TAKE HIM TO ANOTHER VET which did not require he be kept outside in the car, examined him and gave him a clean bill of health stating he simply eats to fast and that causes the vomiting. So dear friends, if you have a ill or maybe ill dog or cat I wouldn't ever recommend the Alpine Animal Clinic. At least not as long as that person works there. read more
