Terrible management take over. Terrible communication and they make it harder harder every chance they get to be able to get help as the years go on. Frankly i'm surprised i got in. Luckily i have a friend from church willing to compensate my monthly income. I am moving from low income downtown Apartments. I've read some other negative reviews and coming from were i just did they seam a bit trivial. For $200 more i went from the slums to living the good life. Management took fees for two people, denied my app, but didn't even check credit on both people. Then proceeded to keep fees for both applicants. Then they said the Regional Manager, Shannon, wouldn't override the decision--due to collections. Yet they don't have any written policy governing their denials based on collections. And my collections are with Direct TV and Verizon,, both related to a dispute, not related to housing. Did they ask me? Nope. They just collected money and denied my application even though I have a housing voucher that guarantees and pays 94% of the rent each month... very strange indeed. Then they turned around a day later and said it was Brittany (the local manager) was who denied it, not the regional manager. Then they said they made a mistake and would be refunding the fee for the person who they didn't run credit on, after I confronted them. They obviously are running some sort of a scam as I told them up front I had poor credit, but nothing related to unpaid housing costs, also no felonies, no misdemeanors, no drug convictions, nor evictions, etc. Look at the other comments down below where it says 10 comments not reccomended. They are horror stories. Almost every comment is over a year old and many are not positive (only sites like Facebook where they can delete the negative comments show positive ones). I guess it was a blessing I was denied. I had no idea it was so bad. Obviously they have management problems. Too bad that management seems to be shifty and shady. They could have easily called me to discuss the denial. No. I had to go out there, just so they could waste my time and then lie to me about who was denying me. The regional manager will be contacted and Spokane Housing Authority will be advised as to their practices of discrimination for lack of written policies on their approval criteria, not even checking credit, but still collecting fees. I would definitely think twice about having your time and app fees wasted at this place. And based on my experience, I would not trust anything they tell you as you will probably just be scammed. I've lived at Copperhill for 3 years. I turned in my keys yesterday. My exit was very caring and complementary. The head of maintenance, who I have admired not only as a worker but as a father, was very thankful for my being a tenant at Copperhill. I have always been treated with great respect from the staff at Copperhill. I believe that in life, we receive what we give. Although I was very busy most of the time, I took time to wave to neighbors, have conversations with some, or even checked in on the health of their families. To me this is what a community is all about. We give what we want to receive. In any apartment complex there will always be children playing, neighbors fighting, garbage that was not carefully put away. I chose not to sit back and complain. What I have done at times was to ask questions, make sure that things were okay, or sometimes picking up that piece of garbage that flew in front of my door. No blame,no fault. This is life, stuff happens, it's what we do with the stuff that happens that creates the community. I would like to thank everyone at Copperhill Apartment's. The last three years have shown me who I am as a citizen. If you're looking for a place where you can make a difference by being a great neighbor, then Copperhill is a place for you. If you're the type of person who enjoy watching kids as they grow, maybe introducing them to a new game, or even helping them solve a dispute, then this is a place for you. If you would like big open spaces to live in that are new, then this is a place for you. I have lived there since it opened. The only good thing about these apartments, was the staff that initially opened 5 years ago. This is what has been going on with these Apartments. There has been a bunch of cars windows broken including mine. There is a rash of Bikes stolen off of patios including 2nd floor apartments .Just started 2 years ago your bike is to be in your apartment only, not on your patio. There is Dog poop everywhere. Yet they do supply dog bags, and a place to put the poop. which are placed in an inconvenient place since the grass there get's soaked so your walking through grassy mud. The big field next to the pond was originally going to be a walking & sitting park that never happened. It's a danger for your kids to play in. Re-bar , Large sharps rocks everywhere. It is part of their property that they keep not knowing they have. Foul mouthed Kids are loud, screaming up and down the sidewalks, or riding their bikes in front of you. There is no where for them to play if your kids are over the ago of 7. There is a very small jungle gym for them. Trash bins are too hard get to especially in the winter walking around the bin where it ice forms. Parking is rough unless you pay $25 for a covered space. You can however get a cheaper space $15 in the back corner where the Basketball courts were supposed to be. There are 2 handicap spot under every carport, a couple here and there around the rest of the parking lot. Other wise if your not home by a certain time you are searching for a space. Phone signals in the apartment is not very good, you may get 2 or 3 bars if your lucky. Calls get dropped, texts are sometimes delayed sending and receiving. Sidewalks keep getting chipped up from the scooters rode up and down them. Winter it's like walking on an ice rink. Patio decks are only allowed plants and patio furniture. No BBQ grills unless they are electric. The pool gets over crowded in the school break when it's open. Since I found a floater I never went back in. The salt water covers up the taste of pee. In 2017 there were 13 apartment inspections throughout the year. In some instances 2 or 3 within a week usually 3 people are in the inspection. They are Tax Credit apartments, in 2016 they failed a bunch of things during that inspection. Rent get's raised every 6 months. Lighting on the even numbered apartments where they put the Dog station doesn't exist. At night it's basically pitch black unless some one turns on their patio lights. There is a big lot right in that area which makes it not feel safe while getting a dog poop stations at night. a fence would have made it feel safe. If you live in that dark part, don't put anything on your patio or it could be stolen. Clubhouse Exercise room is not equipt very well unless you are into cardio, weights are very hard to work with. Computer room 2 out of 4 computers will print. Teenagers watching explicit content videos on YouTube, most of the time without headphones. Pool table lounge it's okay, table is a little off balance, it is a comfortable room with cable TV, sofa. Main office Is comfortable, free coffee, a nice living room kind of feel. Tenants used to be able to rent it out for private party's, complete with BBQ grill outside. Management has changed over 6 times, with each new one comes a restart of the minor things of the community. Monthly Flyers always include Keep your kids quite in public areas, $25 fine for dog poop. $25 fine for trash not being in the bin. $100 late fee if not in by the 3rd, the day most of the residents get paid on disability. If there is something on your patio you will get a 10 day eviction notice unless you move it. Security deposit. It will take the full 21 days to get refunded. Even if the accountant get's the refund information 2 days after you move and on their desk. Don't try to call to ask if it's sent the response will be the same " We legally have 21 days after you move out until we are obligated to send you the Check" If you are counting on that refund plan for the full 21. read more

The apartments are nice but the communication from management could be better. We had problems with the dryer, people parking in our paid spots, and miscommunication about the cleaning fee. The maintenance staff is very nice and updated us on issues well. Overall, the apartment and area is nice and fairly quiet. The management is very friendly overall but they just need to get better at communicating effectively so that residents get accurate and timely updates about issues. read more

I don't live here, but Trinitie and Mary from their office have been phenomenal at helping my family and I with our application process and have gone above and beyond with their customer service and sense of urgency with getting us situated in one of their units. We are moving from out of state and they have been just amazing with making sure we have correctly filled everything out and sent in the right way. When the unit we applied for became unavailable (for reasons out of their control) they made sure to get all of our paperwork transferred over to their sister location and personally made sure that the process is going as quickly and smoothly as possible for us. They have also been incredibly patient with how many times I have called them with questions, never made me feel like I was annoying or bothering them. I have never worked with a more kind and professional set of people in my life. Seriously, amazing service. read more

We have loved living here at Copper Hill! We didn't want to live close to down town, so this place for the bill. Grounds are clean, management is great. Close to some great hiking spots and a Target is opening up right next door. We have lived at our fair share of apartment complexes and this one is by far our favorite. read more

Don't move in here if you want privacy. They demand 48 hour entry all the time. I have had them demand it 4 times in the last two weeks. That's what happens when you ask the manager to do her job and fix the problems with the complex. She will attack you. read more

I would never recommend these apartments to anyone. I had to deal with rude Management lady named Mary. She was very very unprofessional over the phone. They never get back to you like call you and update you on anything.She would not connect my mother on the other line as the other workers their did all the time I called to explain to her the situation. She told me no for no reason, she said we need to come to the office both of us she would explain to us everything which we came their, right? And they close at 6 pm and she told us they close at 5 so she LITRALLY just gave us the application with out explain anything and closed the door. Said we are closed said she needed to get her kids from day care when their was other workers their just sitting.Then you also need a co signer if you have bad credit history and they need to make more then 5x more the income amount. This is low income apartments we are talking about.So terrible management. Their was also a guy their that had a problem with me calling a few times and not leaving a voice message so he was being an asshole about it. He also before wasn't helpful at all when I called and had some questions on the phone.So yeah not good people working their. Definitely would not recommend this place. read more

When we moved in management was pretty great, but unfortunately we've switched managers about 5x in the last year! By the time I know one manager's name, she has "relocated"... along with her entire group of staff! Long story short, the staff is highly overworked and quite frankly, overwhelmed. They seem to hire staff that has no experience and put them in charge. I'm not alone in receiving notices for money I do not owe, or my favorite, a notice on my door stating that I had no lease contract and needed to pay extra for "month-to-month"... whatthe...? (I had already lived here for a year and a half....?!) I had to bring in my photo copy to prove I had a contract! As you will read from others, the kids around the place are a whole different story. It's not the kids... it's the parents. They just let them run around the parking lot, throwing footballs and such into people's cars! Obviously parking lots aren't places for children to be without supervision... Unfortunately I'm sure it will finally sink in when a child is hit by a car... :( The walls are... as most places, paper thin. Now, for the big pro- the maintenance guys here are AWESOME. They come out when you have an issue and are EXTREMELY polite and helpful. They don't wait around for weeks before showing up. I've had multiple small issues, that have been solved in no time at all. These guys are the only reason this place gets 2 stars instead of 1... Overall, unfortunately out experience diminished over our time living at copper hill... ...On the plus side, there aren't safety issues and the surrounding area is pretty good, within walking to groceries and a few places to eat/drink. But if you are looking to relocate to Spokane (as we did, just basing our decision on pictures, price and a phone call...), I would look elsewhere. Hope this helps. stopped by for information about the complex. In the office was the rental agent, her husband and 2 kids. . I did not know if they were tanants or what. Talked to agent and was confused because onn the phone i was told there were specials for move ins. Only special was that could put down a 25% deposit while waiting for an apartment or reserving an apartment. I really had no clue what she was saying. I have never gone to a rental that calls my employer to get my exact income. Normally one can show a paycheck and they call just to verify employment. When i left the complex I heard kids being really loud, running in front of cars, throwing garbage or whatever they were throwing at each other. I saw a maintenance person on a card and tried to flag her to ask her questions. i said I smiled and said hi and said i wanted to ask a question. She looked at me and looked annoyed and then kept driving and almost hit a kid on a scoreboard. She did not even stop for the kid. I will not be moving there read more

I would really like living here if it weren't for the obnoxious kids making noise at all hours of the day. I can't drive through the parking lot without almost hitting one. I have never seen such poor parenting and poor management anywhere i have lived. I even picked up two cigarette lighters off the lawn next to their toys. Those kids probably would have burned down a building if i hadn't found them first! Management sends out notices threatening to evict them for throwing rocks or make them only play on the playground but they really have no teeth so nothing is ever really done. The units themselves are really nice but the noise level is so bad that I won't renew my lease unless they get the kid situation under control. If you really want to know what this place is like check out the "not recommended" reviews, they're all true but copper hill is probably paying someone off to not recommend them. read more

The apartments themselves are nice, but none of the rules are enforced here. The kids run around throwing rocks, kicking down fences, climbing on roofs. I live on the 3rd floor and nearly trip on all the toys on the stairs. When we tried to complain to the office they said they can't do anything about it without getting fired. They actually suggested we call the police on the children. Ridiculous. People speed thru the parking lot and no one picks up their dog doo. We are moving out. read more

The apartments themselves are okay. The people who live here not so much. Lots of low income people that live here for free and trash the parking lots and sidewalks. Lots of noisy people. Would be nice if they had separate buildings for smokers/non-smokers. We can't turn on our ac or open our windows or doors without smoke from the downstairs neighbors pouring in. Very stinky place. There are serious communication issues with the staff in the leasing office. They mis-communicate with regard to pricing of apartments, availability of apartments, and putting money down to hold apartments. Each month for the past 6 months we've come in to try to secure a 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment. We were advised on multiple occasions that they do not allow prospective renters to put money down to "hold" an apartment that's opening up. We were told specifically that we should come in on July 12th for the first come opportunity to rent an available unit for August. We took time off from work, showed up as the office opened and were told that they rented the available unit the day before. And they rented it to someone they allowed to "hold" the apartment by putting money down. This was the same opportunity they did not allow for us for the previous 6 months. We came back later that day to fill out paperwork and put money down on the one remaining 2 bed 2 bath apartment they had. As we were filling out the application and check in their lounge area another customer showed up to inquire about the apartment and they gave it away to him. THEY DID THAT AS WE WERE SITTING THERE FILLING OUT THE PAPERWORK AND CHECK FOR THE APARTMENT. Unbelievably inconsiderate and uncaring staff. They really do not appear to enjoy their work and you really sense that as a customer there. They also have miscommunication on their website with regard to apartment pricing. A 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment on their website is $730. When you come into the office they tell you it's $790. And they are rude when you are confused about the discrepancy that comes from their own website. All of this negativity occured as a prospective renter. I can't imagine how horrible they must be to their customers once you've signed your life away on a 12 month lease. Avoid this place! read more
