Long story short, I had never tried acupuncture before and came into my first appointment with a multitude of complaints. I had been especially struggling with eczema and anxiety. Dr. Rivera made me feel at-ease with the process of acupuncture and recommended a course of treatment. After weekly treatments for a little over 2 months, there is a night and day difference. My eczema has healed to the point where I no-longer need to use steroid creams. My anxiety levels have lowered so much that I no-longer need to have regular therapy sessions. But there is a ton of everything you could possibly want, medicinally. And it's all so clean and neat; nothing is cluttered, dusty, or junky. I was a little overwhelmed because I didn't know where to start, and honestly, I just wanted one of everything. But my pockets reminded me that I'm not carrying Queen funds, so I centered myself and zoned in on essential oils. I am having issues with spiders entering my new work vehicle somehow. It's brand new, so no food or anything to attract them. I read and heard that peppermint oil would help deter them. The store had plenty of peppermint oils, along with eucalyptus, lavender, lemon, etc. They sell the BeNatu brand at $19.99 for a 4oz glass bottle. You can get this exact brand/bottle/size at Wally World or Crimezon for $9.99, but I'd rather spend twice the money to support local. Before I left town, I went back and bought 4 more bottles. (SN: The oils absolutely helped. Haven't seen a spider inside the car for the past 2 weeks!) I love and prefer natural remedies, so the next time I'm in the Chi, I'll shop for more than just the essential oils. I didn't take any pictures inside the store because it felt a little rude to do so. But the staff was nice and offered warm smiles. They have many imported items, so naturally the inscriptions are in varying languages. If you have questions, just ask. My preference is to do chiro before acupuncture, and the office is always willing to do what they can from a scheduling perspective to accommodate my request, which brings us to our first stop, Justin! Embarrassing for me, but I've cried a few times in Justin's face because of aches and pains. Justin always takes his time to listen to my physical woes, and he goes to work to get 'em out. He uses a variety of methods from heat to stim to good 'ol chiropractic adjustments- all with a smile. The hour long session feels like it's 5 minutes, and I always wake up feeling fully refreshed. We usually end our sessions with cupping, which has been a game changer in my physical healing journey. Massage itself was good/decent but inconsistent in some areas. Checkout felt awkward, with a lot of emphasis/pressure around tipping and packages. I was told to just sign so when I did she asked if I tipped and there wasn't a way to go back. I just tipped cash. Overall, not a bad massage, but the lack of communication and pushy upselling left a bad impression and made me uncomfortable. I'll likely try somewhere else before coming back if I do.
