From the moment I arrived, the booking officers were professional, courteous, and treated me like a human being. They explained the process clearly, kept me informed about what was happening, and made sure I was taken care of throughout my stay. The facility itself was clean and well-maintained, which made the environment feel more organized and safe. I was provided with meals--lunch, dinner, and breakfast--without issue, and staff checked in regularly to make sure I had what I needed. Even though I was technically on the "other side of the law," I never felt disrespected or mistreated. I want to be clear that this isn't a complaint; the officers were simply doing their jobs, and they did so professionally and with a sense of humanity. Overall, I left with a sense of appreciation for how the staff handled my situation. I have no hard feelings toward them, and I recognize the challenges of their work. It's not easy to manage a facility like this, but their professionalism, courtesy, and attentiveness really stood out to me.

And her continued rant on the topic. which aired no concrete grievances, but seemed like her own issues about not having as much money in La Canada, which isn't La Crescenta? Bizarre. I am unhoused and people from this station have been nothing but over-thoughtful to me. Officer/Deputy Fort is a prime example. I didn't ask the name of the deputy, but in 2023, after someone stomped out my windshield on drugs, a deputy/sheriff from this station, who'd received a complaint I'd parked too long in one spot -- watch out for Gladys Kravitz citizens -- not deputies, who need a hobby other than harassing the unhoused, stat! -- was very kind and when he saw my smashed windshield, told me which nearby town had the best deals to replace it at low-cost. He was on the money! Just had to tell my experience because it's, frankly, unfair to make vague claims like Cynthia G. did about them caring only about rich La Canada residents [what on Earth is she even ranting about?] when I'm literally unhoused and they often go out of their way to show me kindness, shares resources, show grace. Unlike Cynthia G.'s unspecified, unclear rant which I will be screenshotting to save for every time I need a good belly laugh!

My boyfriend lives in LA in the Harvard Heights area and every time I'm at his house I turn on the citizen app and I'm shocked at how much crime is happening at any instance there. Whenever I'm at home I open my Citizen app for fun and it's always so safe and quiet here. I feel like our police department is a huge reason for that. Even being in high school I was also really proud to be living in such a great city. Every interaction I've ever had with officers has always been very respectful to me. I hope it always remains this way I know not everyone has this experience, but this is just mine. Keep up the good work everyone that is protecting and serving. I truly appreciate you guys!

Despite this, I have repeatedly been stopped and followed by Burbank police officers while driving at night. I often run errands late at night due to my work schedule and personal obligations. Driving after midnight, by itself, does not constitute suspicious or unlawful behavior. During one stop, I was accused of "swaddling" or driving suspiciously despite obeying traffic laws. It appeared that the sole basis for the stop was the time of night I was driving. I am concerned that I am being unfairly targeted and subjected to repeated stops without legitimate cause. Additionally, during a prior interaction, an officer told me to "talk in English," which I found inappropriate and concerning. I expect to be treated fairly, professionally, and without racism. I am requesting that these incidents be reviewed and that any concerns regarding repeated stops be properly addressed. This will be justified when I give court all findings that evidence from a stop was unlawful. BURBANK PD can be DISGUSTINGLY racist. You have every right to stop someone who's speeding or driving recklessly but NOT someone who is obeying traffic laws.

The clerks will not fill the forms out for you and there is no self-help center at this courthouse so unfortunately, there is no staff member to ask for help. I didn't want to hire a lawyer to complete my petition for a name change so I went to the online help center and used the online tutorial to complete the necessary forms AND apply for a fee waiver; I qualified and did not have to pay the $435.00 in court fees. Here is the link to the California Self-Help Center that can save you time and money: http://www.courts.ca.gov/selfhelp.htm Finding the court where I had to file my case was also a new experience (I went to the Long Beach Courthouse first and that was not the correct courthouse!) You have to file your casework with the appropriate courthouse that handles your case. MAKE SURE YOU BRING TWO COPIES OF YOUR CIVIL CASE FOR THE CLERK. DON'T STAPLE THEM UNTIL THE CLERK REVIEWS THE PAPERWORK. TIP: There is no parking at this courthouse. The parking lot is for employees only. Park on the street but the meters are coins only, no credit cards. You can also park a few blocks away and avoid paying meter fees. If you require personal assistance completing your legal paperwork and there is no self-help center near you, visit http://www.lawhelpca.org/ to locate a non-profit legal aid center that can assist you. I also recommend Community Lawyers, a non profit agency that I had the privilege of volunteering for. You can contact them here: http://www.community-lawyers.org/ Best of luck!

Their professionalism, compassion, and unwavering commitment to serving the community deserve the highest recognition. Over the past several months, I have felt increasingly overwhelmed, anxious, and concerned by the amount of criminal activity occurring in and around the Crescent Heights area. I have been feeling deeply unsettled, Sergeant Rodriguez demonstrated a level of care, patience, and attentiveness that far exceeded anything I could have expected. She took a remarkable amount of time to speak with me and carefully address my concerns. What stood out most was her meticulous attention to every detail I shared. She listened thoughtfully, asked questions, provided guidance, and ensured that every concern was acknowledged rather than dismissed. In a profession where time is precious, Sergeant Rodriguez made me feel that my safety and peace of mind genuinely mattered. Officer Caparros was equally exceptional. His professionalism, responsiveness, and dedication to public service were evident throughout every interaction. Together, Officer Caparros and Sergeant Rodriguez exemplify the highest ideals of law enforcement integrity, compassion, accountability, and an authentic commitment to the people they serve. In a world where it is often easy to focus on what goes wrong, I believe it is equally important to recognize those who consistently go above and beyond. These officers did not simply perform their duties; they took the time to restore a sense of confidence, reassurance, and trust during a period of significant stress and uncertainty. Their dedication to protecting the Crescent Heights community is both admirable and inspiring. The City of Los Angeles is incredibly fortunate to have public servants of this caliber. Officer Caparros and Sergeant Rodriguez represent the very best of the LAPD, and their work deserves to be celebrated. May God bless them, protect them, and continue to guide them as they serve our community with such distinction, professionalism, and heart.
