It's only been about a week since Chief William took on this role, yet our neighborhood has already noticed a remarkable difference. Yesterday, I saw a motorcycle police officer proactively patrolling our streets during the day which we usually don't see! Then, last night at 3:22 a.m., another patrol officer was driving through the neighborhood. Seeing this level of police presence both during the day and in the early morning hours is something we honestly haven't experienced before unless we specifically called and requested assistance. For many years, our neighborhood has hoped for more proactive patrols, and it's incredibly reassuring to see this kind of attention being given to our community. It sends a strong message that the safety and well-being of Glendale residents truly matter. On behalf of many of my neighbors, I want to sincerely thank Chief Robert William and the dedicated officers of the Glendale Police Department for their commitment, visibility, and service. We greatly appreciate the extra effort and hope this positive momentum continues. Unfortunately, that never happened. Despite my attempts to follow up, I have received no meaningful communication or assistance. Every time I try to get an update, it feels like my calls disappear into a voicemail system with no response. This is especially frustrating because I took the initiative to do some of my own investigating. I contacted the business where the person who stole my belongings used my credit card in hopes of obtaining the surveillance footage. I was told they could not release the video to me and that it could only be provided to the assigned investigator. The problem is that I have never been able to get in touch with anyone to move the investigation forward. To make matters worse, this is the third time property has been stolen where I live, which has left me feeling very unsafe. I can't help but wonder if someone within my apartment complex may be involved, yet I feel like my concerns have not been taken seriously. I understand that law enforcement has many cases to handle, but simply never following up with victims is unacceptable. A quick phone call or update would have gone a long way. Instead, I was left to try to solve the case myself with little to no support. Overall, I found the process unprofessional and incredibly disappointing. I hope the department improves its communication with victims so others don't have the same experience.

My boyfriend lives in LA in the Harvard Heights area and every time I'm at his house I turn on the citizen app and I'm shocked at how much crime is happening at any instance there. Whenever I'm at home I open my Citizen app for fun and it's always so safe and quiet here. I feel like our police department is a huge reason for that. Even being in high school I was also really proud to be living in such a great city. Every interaction I've ever had with officers has always been very respectful to me. They even took care of my ticket even though it's set for the Van Nuys Courthouse (which in itself gives me a headache thinking about going there). $20 cash or check for inspection fee. Then you can use card to pay the actual ticket upstairs. Courthouse was clean and not at all confusing, at least for my purpose. Only issue I had was the amount of parking they had for the Reserved Sheriff Inspection Parking. Had to circle the block a few times until there was an opening. If you're looking for it, it'll be located right in the front of the courthouse (they could use more signs to direct people too). Other than that, in and out easy.

Yes, I was in a bus zone and I'm sorry. But I tried to explain my medical condition, and he didn't care. He acted like a robot. No compassion, no understanding. I thought officers were supposed to be reasonable. I'm 18, a full-time student with no job. I wasn't trying to break the law. I was trying to avoid a humiliating medical emergency. I used to trust the police. Now I don't. The ticket is evidence. This did happen to me.
