a plate of breakfast food with eggs, bacon, pancakes, and strawberries

I'm confused why this place doesn't have more/better ratings; we had a wonderful experience! Food/Beverage: 43/50 I forget the name of what we ordered but you can tell by the picture that it was superb. A lot more than a fast food style breakfast like IHOP, Denys or Dedutch, and less than an absolute gourmet. I would 100% come back here again because of the food alone. Cora also produces their own coffee, syrup and oranges for fresh orange juice. #FunFact. Cool and yumzors. Rawr. Ask for your bacon crisp; some of the best potatoes I've ever had at a bfast spot. Service/Support Staff: 27/30 our server Jade was wonderful! She took time to connect with my girlfriend and I, was very friendly, hit all her marks, and got us what we asked for in a fast way always delivered with an authentic smile. Always a breath of fresh air to have a server that actually enjoys talking to people instead of just an order taker. Thank you! Some of the support staff looked unkept like they just crawled out of bed. That's my only critique there. Environment/Cleanliness: 19/20 Cora knows what it wants to look like and they hit the mark hard. I love it for what it is because it isn't trying to be anything but what it is. To me it's a hybrid of a red robin and Denys but serves high quality food. Very approachable. Lighting could have been dimmer in my opinion. Total: 89/100 Go Cora! I'll be back. #Bless #HappyBellysHappyHearts

Went here this afternoon and got the burrito crepe, which was amazing. Asked for crispy hash browns and got something resembling a boiled potato. Our server Sylvia was amazing and got it fixed but did mention that what was originally served was the standard for their hash browns. Kinda disappointed with the hash browns considering it's one of my favourite breakfast foods although the service was amazing!

All for the fruit cocktail of the day! Different from smoothies, fruit cocktails have no dairy, just the fruit!

Alright, Cora is a chain. But it's a really nice one! They make an effort to offer healthy options for breakfast that would also look great and would be fun for the kids! Great selection of dishes with fresh fruit, which could be complemented with yogurt or oatmeal. And, yes, if you are really craving a greasy brunch, they also have poutine and some dishes with egg. Great for all ages.

The fresh fruit and incredible taste makes this a must have whenever I am in town. Priced accordingly with friendly service and upbeat atmosphere. Five stars all day long.

Great menu choices, good service. A bit on the high priced side with most items over $10, but large portions.

We booked a Happy Hour reservation for the long Sunday Easter long weekend at 4:30pm and we were the first to arrive. As Salt & Brick has an evolving fresh sheet menu, you never know what's on the menu but they usually have a few staples like their Brussel sprouts. As this was my boyfriend's first time here, we ordered the Brussell sprouts with popcorn and the Rigatoni. We were given the regular menu but did inquire about Happy Hour and the Brussel sprouts, pastas, and charcuterie board were on special. Unfortunately, they didn't have any oysters available that day. Small cozy atmosphere with a cute front porch. It's a small bar and kitchen that you can see and wonderful that you see and hear all the food being freshly made to order. Our server was friendly, chatty, and attentive but also gave us our space too. The Brussel sprouts served with cheddar popcorn, grapes, and ripped beer cheese is a bit salty, sweet, and so satisfying! My partner doesn't love Brussel sprouts but really enjoyed this dish. The Rigatoni was a bit rich with a nettle became sauce but served with the earthy lily spears, it was a well rounded dish altogether that we also enjoyed. Cute restaurant on the Downtown main strip that isn't a major chain, which is refreshing. Will continue to visit next time in town and hopefully they will have oysters then!

We took advantage of the opportunity and ordered the sashimi and tataki, both of which were melt in your mouth delicious! On a recent trip to Kelowna we met with an old friend of ours who lives in Kelowna and we suggested dinner at Basil and Mint. After dinner our friend said that next time we should go to the Yacht Club with him for dinner. Our server Scott has been our server on previous occasions but this evening the service was not up to the usual standards. It was a busy evening but it took a long time for our entrees to arrive. We shared an order of escargot again but on the occasion the escargot were very small. Our entrees when they finally arrived consisted of a salmon special for our friend, chicken parmesan for my husband and beef short rib for myself. My husband found the chicken lacking in seasoning and flavour. My short rib was dry and stringy. It was terrible and definitely not worth the $42.00. When the server came with the pepper grinder and asked we wanted pepper we all responded yes. She did the pepper for my husband and myself and then walked away. We had to flag down another server to ask for pepper for our friend. When our friend left the table and Scott came by and asked how our dinners were we expressed our disappointment he just asked if we had been served the same meals on other occasions. Should this make a difference? You should be able to have consistently good food and it should not be dependent on what you order. We ordered crème brulee for dessert. It was so disappointing because we had suggested Basil and Mint to our friend. He did not comment on his meal but the fact that he suggested another restaurant for our next dinner speaks volumes. We might give Basil and Mint another try because we have had very good experiences before but they are no longer a must visit when we are in Kelowna.

Our servers on both occasions were highlights, attentive yet also leaving us be. Last night it was just K and I and the previous visit there were five of us outside on the patio. The space is nicely decorated but has no real charm or ambiance, which is understandable in a big hotel. The menu is extensive enough that you should be able to find something to meet the needs of your palate while here, but there are many choices within walking distance that may be a better choice of you are looking for a specific culinary experience. If you don't want to leave the hotel, you shouldn't be disappointed with your choice. Our food while not amazing during each visit was solid, and well presented. It might be a little on the higher end cost wise, but what isn't these days. Given all the choices in the neighbourhood within a short stroll, you may want to explore, but also understand the best choice might be in the hotel you're staying at.

They offer a happy hour menu, which is something not many winery restaurants do, and that's one of the things I like about this place. The restaurant has a fantastic view overlooking the lake and the winery, with a sophisticated ambiance and a super-nice patio. My partner ordered the fish tacos from the happy hour menu. I chose the smoked Lambwich, which featured smoked lamb shoulder, Kentucky BBQ dipping sauce, pickled pepperoncini, lettuce, and mayo on a soft, delicious bun. The fish tacos were made with salmon, lettuce, peluvian dressing and topped with tempura bits. Using salmon for tacos was unique, and it was very flavorful and tasted great. The Lambwich featured pulled lamb and plenty of spicy pickles. The sauce was quite thick, and the side of fries was a bit too salty. To pair with wine, I would have preferred a lighter taste. However, since it's a casual meat sandwich, I think the robust flavor was fitting. We had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, which was just great. It had a nice crispness with a lovely fruit flavor, pairing perfectly with our meals. I really loved that wine. Overall, I can't fully judge this restaurant based on the casual dishes we ordered. We'll definitely go back to try other main dishes and appetizers. I'm already looking forward to returning.
