The closest was Chancewater and it is also open 7 days a week as opposed to most places in the area that are only open during the weekend. There is plenty of parking and you walk into a bar area that is set up for tastings. But we decided to sit in the larger tasting area that has their wines, barrels etc. They also sell seasonal vegetables at the bar which is a nice touch. They offer olive oil tasting but I didn't want to mix wine and oil so we didn't try the olive oil but I will definitely go back for that. They had many olive oil products for sale - soap, lotions etc. We were greeted by 2 hostesses who offered us a choice to sit at the bar or the tasting room and we choose the tasting room, it had a better ambience. We went on a Tuesday late afternoon, just before they closed at 5pm and we had the place to ourselves. The tasting room has room for at least 50 people without it feeling crowded. You get a choice of 7 tastings for $15 and you can pick what you would like to taste and we picked all whites. We had the 3 white and rose, 2 reserve whites (chardonnay and Sav Blanc) and 2 sweet wines. I am not a fan of Sav Blanc or sweet wines but the ones we tasted were very good. Their chardonnay was well worth the trip by itself. The hostess was friendly and knowledgeable and very engaging. I took one star off for the pours, they were very minimal but delicious. I would highly recommend the place and look forward to the olive oil tasting as well next time!

The vibe was very much small town cafe, which was nice. And the wait staff was friendly. We ordered the California Turkey Club, Tritip Sandwich, Fresh Strawberry Orange Juice, and a Gingerbread Latte. All their portions were very sizeable. Definitely share worthy. There wasn't too much special about the tritip sandwich. Its what you expect from a standard tritip sandwich. The turkey sandwich was a bit unique. They used some artisan bread instead of your usual club toast. It was a good touch, though a bit heavy for brunch for us. Everything tasted great. Gingerbread latte was on the sweet side. The "fresh" strawberry OJ was probably not fresh. Well, we took off a lot of stars for the ridiculous number of flies buzzing around our table. We counted up to 3 flies sitting on an empty chair next to us at any given moment, with more flying around. We asked about the flies, and they brought out some spinny fly fans to keep the flies away. The flies were more hungry than they were scared of the fans. They also had a stash of these fans on the counter. So this wasn't a one-off problem. It was a recurring problem they chose not to solve. Yikes... Would I recommend this place? Probably not. If there were this many flies near our table, I wonder how many are in the kitchen?

The outside patio looked pretty but it was too windy to sit there. The inside ambiance was more diner style (smelled like it as well unfortunately) and did not match the outside appearance. The clam chowder was hearty and full of potatoes and clams. The highly anticipated brunch burger was a disappointment. Upon arrival, the dish already had a smear of aoli on the side of the plate. Too hungry to wonder if the plate was clean (till after the meal ). The egg was perfectly cooked sunny side up. However, the millionaire's bacon was not thick nor had much flavor. The meat of the burger itself was tasteless and overcooked (asked for medium but showed up well done). When one is told to lower dining expectations in lake county you would have thought for sure one can't go wrong with classic burger... apparently not unfortunately.

The Greek quinoa salad with chicken is effortlessly composed: crisp greens, briny olives, red onion, tender protein, and a generous snowfall of feta that actually means something. The quinoa adds just enough substance to make it satisfying without weighing it down, and the pepperoncinis on the side? A small but intentional detail that elevates the whole plate. Everything tasted clean, bright, and balanced--no heavy hand, no shortcuts. Just quality ingredients allowed to shine. In a world of overworked, overdressed salads, this one keeps it refined--and that's exactly why it stands out.

The ahi was unrecognizable to taste. It did look appetizing, but the taste was really off. We were there during their live band night. That was a great time. It is too bad that the ahi was so rough. On the other side, one of my family members had the special pork dish (some sort of pork tenderloin) and it was bland. The dish was pretty pricey and for the $40 that is was, it could have been flavored. The fried cauliflower and garlic bread were fantastic though.

Great vibes, my friend and I both ordered the honey walnut chicken sandwich -- incredible one of the best things I've had this year. I need to try tore-create it at home just to have it again. I loved the honey sauce and candied walnuts drizzled over the fried chicken. The potato wedges were also amazing, so thick and soft and crispy. Very cozy vibes, such a great atmosphere. The service was amazing the whole night. I will always try to stop here every time I come back to Lake County. When we first sat down, we were starving, and our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs, we ordered the poke appetizer and two honey walnut fried chicken sandwiches. Our sandwiches came out before the appetizer but once our sandwiches came, we both realized there was no way we were going to have room too also eat the pokey. We asked our server if he could just cancel the appetizer and we told him it really was no problem because we were enjoying our sandwiches so much. We were already way too full for the appetizer. Our server felt bad about not bringing out the appetizer and instead gave us free dessert even though he really didn't need to--it was so kind. So generous so gracious! We weren't upset about the appetizer not coming out in time; we were glad it happened that way, but he still wanted to make up for it! He didn't even charge us for the appetizer in on our way with a hot brownie and ice cream. Incredible service and I can't wait to come back. Thank you so much, Saw shop public house! Looking forward to trying more food on your menu. See you next time!
