A must visit if you're here, excellent food and service. It's a not so hidden gem. Right smack dab between downtown and lake views. I had the Prime Rib French Dip special with a Bourbon Brown Sugar Smash cocktail. Phenomenal. They have an adequate menu selection, not too big not too small and daily specials. Staff are friendly and have all the good vibes. Restrooms are clean and cute. The porch is the best seating, open, spacious with a beautiful view of the lake and Library Park. Highly recommend Park Place.

It was a beautiful day to sit outside. A cool place to people watch and enjoy a good meal. Service was great, the food was good, and the view of the Lake was always a plus. No problem coming back here. Next time I will bring the wife. See our YouTube channel Coolest Life

We came here after walking around Lakeport and our host had been here many times and had a good experience. A beautiful place on the water with both indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated quickly but then it was hard to get anyone to take the order. Really needed some water, sure would have been nice to get it soon after we were seated. I had the shrimp salad and found it was just ok....snd very small for the amount of money charged. Everything on the menu was pricey. I guess you pay for the location. I liked the service and food a lot better at another restaurant in the area. The couple that brought us here said they must be having a bad day...

Visiting relatives in the area we decided to go out to lunch. This place is really busy. We called to make a reservation for a party of six, hoping for 1:30. They said they couldn't seat us until 2:30. Okay.... When we arrived just before 2:30, there were quite a number of empty, cleared and cleaned, tables. Hmm??? They took us to our table and disappeared for a bit. I can see why the place is popular. It's on the waterfront near the yacht club. They have both indoor and outdoor dining options and a view that is awesome. On to the food. We ordered Gorgonzola bread as an appetizer; it was very good. The table ordered a few burgers, a sandwich, salad, and pasta. Everything looked good. My smokehouse burger was overcooked. I ordered it medium, it came out well done. Dry, dry, dry!!! I didn't send it back because it took a long time to get it in the first place. The servers were not very attentive, and they added a "large party tip" at 20% to my bill. They didn't mention it, and I'm more accustomed to a gratuity being added to parties checks that exceed six patrons. I certainly didn't add any extra, but I don't know whether I'll get back... prices are high and the food was not that great this visit.

Flies all over the restaurant & on our table..

Flies all over the restaurant and on our table. But we gave the restaurant a chance then served a bottle of water w/ black stuff floating. I fell asleep waiting for our food and the waitress didn't even bother letting us know for the delay. We informed the waitress we're just leaving because it's taking so long, of course she served the food. We decided to take it out & still paid for the food while the food was already cold. I feel like we were racially profiled in this restaurant. No apologies at all. So sad......

The Park Place has been a staple in Lakeport forever. My classmates went here for prom in the 90s and many locals love the place. When I shared with a local that we stopped into The Park Place for dinner, they said the restaurant is famous for their great pasta dishes but known in a bad way for their meats as they are never consistent. I wish I had known that before we had the Pork Chop and Steak. Read the details below. I brought my family here over Labor Day weekend on our visit to Lakeport and we had a nice time. It was a Sunday night and there were five of us. We were seated promptly with menus as it wasn't quite busy yet at 5:20pm. There was a person playing loud music in the park so we opted for an inside table. Shortly there after, someone from behind the bar came by to take our drink orders and brought our drinks. The Cucumber Mule was refreshing and a nice start to dinner on a warm night. It took some time for our food order to be taken but the same person from behind the bar came to take our order. She was busting her butt and seemed quite efficient in her work darting from the hostess stand greeting regular patrons, making drinks, pouring wine, and visiting tables. We shared a few appetizers starting with Fried Calamari, bowl of Clam Chowder, Gorgonzola Garlic Bread, and the Bay Shrimp Salad. Everything looked great and most everything tasted good. The Fried Calamari was fried very well and had good flavor even without the dipping sauce. The Bay Shrimp Salad was fresh and yummy with the freshly made Blue Cheese Dressing. As I remembered from high school, the Gorgonzola Garlic Bread was still delicious, toasted just right with the perfect amount of seasoning. The regular Garlic Bread accompanying the Clam Chowder was also delicious. The Clam Chowder not at much. It lacked the flavor of clams and seemed more like a bacon and potato chowder. The Fungo Formaggio Pizza with gluten free crust was very good. The flavors went well and the crust was soft and light but not too thin. My son enjoyed his Mac and Cheese Penne dish. The Spicy Blackened Pork Chop was not blackened nor spicy. It was rather dry and lacked seasoning in the actual meat itself. There was a roasted poblano cream sauce that was good. The Medium Rare Steak and Frites I ordered came blackened and was very overcooked. I waved down the server and said that I had ordered Medium Rare and showed her it was very Medium Well. She said, "Yep, that's over done. I'll get you another one and just eat around it." She never apologized for the kitchen's mistake though, not even later in the evening. I ate the fries and veggies plus the shrimp I had added while I waited for a new steak. The fries were crisp and seasoned well. The new steak arrived and I was pleasantly surprised that it came with fries and veggies again, plus the steak was cooked just right. I ordered a red wine to go with the steak and the wine was very good. Meanwhile, the overdone steak just stayed on the table the entire night. At the end of the meal, the same server came by to offer us dessert. We opted for the Creme Brulee. It was yummy. Overall, I enjoyed most of my meal and was happy to support a local restaurant. For most of the evening, service was OK and as attentive as they could've been except for the aloof way the overdone steak was handled. The restaurant was slammed and there was a line for a table. I did receive a new steak so no complaints there but the server never apologized which I found rude. She did apologize to other people for things happening around our table. The person who brought me the new steak didn't apologize either. A simple, "I'm sorry" goes a long way.

The GORGONZOLA BREAD is and always has been our reason to return to this establishment decade after decade. Their menu has something to offer for every taste bud and the lake/park view is beautiful. Although we currently were just visiting, I'm a previous long-time resident, Park Place is a must stop each time in town:)

We were down in the Lakeport area checking out the little downtown and the lake. We wanted to grab an early dinner and this place happened to be right by where I parked. Service was great! Our waitress was very friendly, attentive and gave great recommendations for our drinks. We ordered the lavender lemon drops. Devine! Next we ordered the meatballs and the truffle & prosciutto pizza (minus the arugula and onions). One of the best meals we've had! Amazing flavors for both dishes.

I'm here to tell you about this great restaurant in Lakeport, which is actually facing a municipal airport. When I say municipal, I mean, TINY. We had dinner here at their suggestion. As we walk in, there is a long bar and a few side tables. Very woody feel to the place, which I like, and all things considered, it's expected. We had to wait about five minutes for a table which was fine, for ME. Started with drinks and some appetizers. I ordered the pot stickers and soup, which was a delicious French onion soup. My EFIL (ex father in-law) had a big bowl of the soup as we has feelings crummy and croupy. Nurse Ed had to give a lot of unsolicited medical advice that night, to everyone's benefit. Pot stickers? Awesome. Had a smidge of crunchy with a burst of flavor. The soup was cheesy as ever, and hot enough to eat but not to burn. EFIL had the fish and chips, which he polished off quickly. I heard no complaints from him, which in and of itself is a miracle, so I'll have to assume it was good. The EMIL (ex mother in-law) had the 'basic a$$ bacon cheeseburger', which I actually did try and was pretty spot on. She asked for it well done... which I'm not a big fan off, but still tasty... Had lots of greens and truffle fries. I went with the 14oz pan roasted angus New York steak came with alfredo butter, steak sauce, sautéed veggies, yukon mashers. Let me tell you. I ate that thing before the in-laws were 3/4 of the way finished with their meals. Steak was ordered medium, and was perfect temp-wise. The mashed potatoes were great, nothing to brag about, but also no complaints from me. The veggies, while delicious, were lacking in portion. I wish there was more! I can't take a STAR away due to my insatiable appetite for veggies though. Just the "quick" tip... Check it out. I hear it's cooler during the day when the planes are around. I would absolutely visit again!

Great vibes, my friend and I both ordered the honey walnut chicken sandwich -- incredible one of the best things I've had this year. I need to try tore-create it at home just to have it again. I loved the honey sauce and candied walnuts drizzled over the fried chicken. The potato wedges were also amazing, so thick and soft and crispy. Very cozy vibes, such a great atmosphere. The service was amazing the whole night. I will always try to stop here every time I come back to Lake County. When we first sat down, we were starving, and our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs, we ordered the poke appetizer and two honey walnut fried chicken sandwiches. Our sandwiches came out before the appetizer but once our sandwiches came, we both realized there was no way we were going to have room too also eat the pokey. We asked our server if he could just cancel the appetizer and we told him it really was no problem because we were enjoying our sandwiches so much. We were already way too full for the appetizer. Our server felt bad about not bringing out the appetizer and instead gave us free dessert even though he really didn't need to--it was so kind. So generous so gracious! We weren't upset about the appetizer not coming out in time; we were glad it happened that way, but he still wanted to make up for it! He didn't even charge us for the appetizer in on our way with a hot brownie and ice cream. Incredible service and I can't wait to come back. Thank you so much, Saw shop public house! Looking forward to trying more food on your menu. See you next time!
