As a New Yorker, I can say unequivocally this is one of the best bakeries I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. It's hard to come by espresso like theirs, and their baked fresh pastries are some of the best I've ever had. Lakeport is such a quaint town, but Angelina's alone is worth the trip. read more

We stopped by Angelina's this last week and practically inhaled the breakfast sandwich (home made biscuit & fresh bacon) berry scones, and chocolate danish. Everything was so DELICIOUS and fresh and was made even more wonderful by how incredible the customer service was!!!! LOVE THIS PLACE! My favorite coffee shop in Lake County. The combination of the ambiance of the place, the excellent espresso flavor, the use of dishes rather than paper cups, the very friendly owners and the cool things to look at in the store make this a place to visit over and over. I ordered a latte made with reduced-fat Clover milk. After drinking it, my mother and I questioned why the drink was more expensive than expected, and only then were we told it had been made with half-and-half because the café had run out of milk. He said he did us a "favor". This substitution was done without informing us beforehand. Both of us are unable to tolerate half-and-half, which is the reason we did not order it. When we explained this and requested a refund, we were told no. Substituting a dairy product without customer consent, especially one with significantly higher fat, dairy, and calories content is not acceptable and poses a real issue for customers with sensitivities. This experience was disappointing and poorly handled, and we would have appreciated transparency and basic customer care. read more

Echoing another reviewer in the comment about a little slice of paradise. Was in town for a training and stubled upon Angelina's on a lunch break. When I casually asked which sandwich to order, there must have been five other customers who, in unison, said "the Palermo!" I understand why. It was at minimum the best sandwich I have had in years. Possibly the best sandwich I have ever had. I didn't take pictures because it would just look like a sandwich which would be a complete disservice to it. It would be worth a trip to Lakeport for this sandwich. But then you would also have to stock up on the fresh baked pastries too or you would regret that later because those were also amazing. What an amazing place Angelina's Bakery is. It is staffed by the kindest people. I didn't catch the man's name but he was intent on making sure my obese dog got another love handle before lunch was over! haha He brought him out 3 different varieties of meats to eat over the course of our lunch. We ordered the salad with salami and ham. I can't remember the name, something like Tarafin. It was delicious. I also had a soy milk latte which was creamy and good. We sat outside and then man came to raise the heat on the outdoor heater. Such personal attention. We just loved it. I can't believe they would ever get a bad rating. Only wonderful things to say about Angelina's! Stopped in several times since we moved here for coffee and birthday deserts. Everything is outstanding, fresh and delicious and the prices are more than fair. This week I called for a bday emergency at 2:45 after they had closed (google said 3pm, but actually 2pm) and they picked up and couldn't have been more helpful. Gave me options on the phone and had it beautifully packed when I arrived. They also welcomed a clearly old friend as I arrived. We're from out of town and stopped by for morning coffee. There was a short line but worth the wait. The pastries are deliciously moist and soft! Not too sweet, but enough to taste like a baked good. This is THE SPOT for breakfast and lunch and our go-to place for catering work lunches and events. Hands down the best coffee (organic and fair trade available!) and pastries around. It's a casual, friendly atmosphere were folks pass chairs from table to table to accommodate the changing crowd. Owner Brian Lundeed and staff are wonderful. Despite their busyness they always have time for a chat and a smile. It's a must stop for tourists and a welcomed ritual for many locals. Usually just a coffee drinker. But since I've discovered their delicious white mocha, I've gone in for one almost every day this week! I'll always have a place in my heart for Starbucks but if this place is open I'm going here instead. The major factor for me is I always add shots to get the strong espresso taste I want and crave. When I add 2 shots here I can taste that I'm getting 2 strong shots. Elsewhere I'm having to add 3 or 4 sometimes. On top of that no matter who's working, they're always so friendly. Great service. It was love at first sight. My photos will not do it justice because I'm currently annihilating everything and we purchased ice cream and affogato and sat outside and enjoyed it. The dulce de leche ice cream reminded my husband of dessert in Mexico and the almond fudge ice cream was perfect. We had sandwiches and that bread was perfect and the sandwiches had so much flavor!! We took a little bit of every pastry with us; panna latte; what a texture like a cloud and beautifully homemade perfection, brownie with all of its decadence, cannaloni (we're saving that for later) and the lemon bar that had such rich caramelized edges. They were so sweet to us and so humble. They hid some muffins in our bag that are moist and remind me of dessert in Germany. I can't praise these guys enough. We've already spread the word to family we're staying with in Middletown that we decided to share some of this dessert with. My only gripe is that I don't live close enough to stop in every day.
