Our agent from Protection Plus actually pulled out a flood zone map, found our house, and what do you know? We're actually in flood zone X - not AE - $307 a year!! WOOO!!!! His reply here illustrates the attitude referenced in my original review and his continued unprofessionalism is disappointing. Since posting the original review, Mr. Orkin continued to contact us via email soliciting his services. We've repeatedly sent written notices informing him to remove us from his mailing lists and while he assures us each time that will happen, it never does. What he's likely unaware of is we make sure to report each violation to the Illinois Sec. of State and his email marketing provider. Ultimately, anyone looking for a mortgage shouldn't be concerned about fit, they aren't looking for a friend, they are looking for the best possible terms on what will likely be the largest single financial expenditure of their lives. What they need are competent providers that don't rise to the level of being reprimanded by the brokerage manager for unprofessional conduct. If you're in the market for a mortgage, you should seek the services of a professional other than Mr. Orkin.

My husband and I were introduced to Cody when we decided to build our house with a local builder. Some unfortunate events took place and we decided to drop our house, half way through the process. Since we were already pre-approved, we asked Cody if he would help us with our next, "new" house we find. He basically said, "of course, call me if you have questions." We eventually found "the one" after looking at over 10 communities. I remember calling him on a Saturday due to a very important question that I had, and he answered! My husband and I were very impressed that he took the call on a weekend~ (I heard kids in the background and felt bad for calling but it truly shows that he cares...I apologized for calling on a Saturday, but it was no biggie to him!! ) My hubs & I financed using the VA route and it was complete within a month. From putting an offer in to SOLD... we were funded. This was our sec time using the VA loan, so we were prepared for many complicated tasks at hand for both parties... surprisingly it seemed easy peezy on our end, but I'm pretty sure there were a lot of important background "stuff" getting done on their end. They made the whole process, look and seem simple. Erika D, Amanda R, Kylie W were the ladies behind the scenes helping my husband I with our house buying process. These ladies are AMAZING. Always keeping my husband and I in the loop...open line of communication going on for all parties involved, for sure. Never once were we asked a question that was already answered or never once had to resubmit verifying documents. If I emailed Cody a question, he immediately forwarded it to whoever knew the answer. Very GREAT team Cody has there!! :) After all things said and done, Cody and his team were a BLESSING. He & his stellar team went above and beyond.... answers emails at any time of day, simplified any questions or concerns I had (even if they were prob silly questions), and even matched incentives with the new house we had purchased. Heck, if I randomly had a question right now, he or his team would reply almost immediately if not in a few hours! Our last home buying experience, using USAA, we had to resubmit documents, answer questions we already answered, or not even get a reply back from emails we would write. It was a stressful, horrible process. With Cody and his team, none of that happened. They made the WHOLE home buying experience enjoyable and EASY!!! I've already directed Cody's info to friends looking to buy and sell. Cody & his team are now my go to peeps for my friends here in town, or possibly for my husband and I again in future!
