The right side has a really nice ambiance and nice fancy cocktails. There is outside seating and a taco truck. You can order food, sit outside and you can buy alcoholic beverages to drink while eating. This is a great place to go to just chill with friends or if you chose to get a nice cocktail with some pals. I'd go back. read more

I loooooved this place. The bar section had crazy vintage films silently playing all night.. mostly dance, but some odds and ends thrown in. Our table was formerly the base of a singer sewing machine which is always fun. The rest of the decor was whimsical and fun. The draft selection was a good size and varied and everyone in my party was pleased with their selections Dogs were allowed in the bar! Which is always better than people watching. I've been a weekly regular at Bottle Shop for a couple years now and I can easily say it's my favorite bar in Columbus. Its unique atmosphere really sets it apart from most other bars I've been to- it's laid back, they always have cool black and white movies playing on a projector, there's usually indie/alternative music playing and they burn candles and incense which makes it cozy. There's a market side to the store where you can buy to-go items, including a wide selection of local beers and top notch wines at a good price. They also have a bar side to the store where you can get beers on tap or an artful cocktail. The cocktails can be expensive, but are unique, seasonal and definitely worth the price. They have great happy hour deals too! When the weather is nice, they also have great patio seating and a taco truck called Mex Express with great fries among other things. The staff at Bottle Shop are friendly, make great recommendations and you'll get to know them if you become a regular. You can expect Bottle Shop to have a crowd most nights, even weeknights, but usually easy to find a table. Can't say enough how much I like this place! read more

This little local bar is close to where we live which makes it a perfect meet-up spot before heading out to other bars later, or to have a chill night close to home! The cocktails are a bit pricey ($10-13ish range) but delicious; definitely worth a splurge every now and again. They have a good beer selection inside, but their GF options are limited to some ciders. They also sell beer and wine for takeout. The food truck is really good, but it closes around 10 so definitely snag some food before it's too late. The inside aesthetic is really cool- candles, good music, fun slideshows/film rolls that play. The bartenders are all very nice and accomodating. The outdoor patio area is lovely but also fills up pretty fast. Bathrooms inside that are CLEAN is a huge plus. read more

This is one of my favorite places to grab an amazing drink. Location is great, right off Neil and across from Hampton's with lots of parking around. Hey have a cute patio area with lights and tables outside. Awesome to hang out there on a nice evening. Inside it basically looks like a hippie home, but in a good way! Is cozy and interesting while bing homey. There was a screen and they were playing some kind of weird music video last time I was in, so that was a bit strange. There are some family tables and cute little "couple" tables. Check out the sweet peacock chair all the way on the left when you walk in! The bar is actually along side a beer/wine shop and you have 2 doors,one for each. The shop part has a good selection of beer and some other random convenience store items. Nothing too exciting but it's there if you want to grab something to drink at home on the way out. Now the drinks...literally some of the most interesting and delicious I have had in the city. The bartenders are friendly and offer great advice. These drinks are are expertly made and while a bit on the pricey side, completely worth it. There is a drink with pisco and hibiscus flowers that I very much enjoyed. This place really isn't one you would want to miss. read more

Let me start by saying sometimes I really question my decisions. I dont mean that in a bad way but I've lived a 1 minute walk from this place the last 3 years and never once took time to stop in. I see their beautiful lights and the folks on the patio every weekend living it up but I never went to check out the Hype. For some reason I stopped being boring and decided to go for once. It was 614 Tiki week which is something completely new to me. I've heard of Tiki before but never really knew the story behind it or what it really meant. After trying 1 at a different bar and absolutely loving it , I said what the heck and went right next door for another since Bottle Shop was participating. Some of the old reviews on here are truly laughable, they should probably be moved to not recommended. I walked in and was greeted immediately and asked if I wanted a menu. I glanced over it and then was given the tiki menu as well. I tried a Mai Tai earlier in tiki week so I went with the Singapore Sling. The bar tender was super cool and I had a front row seat to watch as he made my drink. The color on this was bad ass and the garnishes really made it pretty. I'm a huge fan of fruity drinks and this one was absolutely delicious. I felt it was big too. I'm not always down to pay $13 for 1 drink but part of Tiki week proceeds were for charity and I felt this was large enough to be worth $13. Theres so many places charging that for a shot sized drink. Overall the bottle shop is the place to be. Amazing drinks, awesome decor, a permanent food truck, and paletas. I care here years ago and It was very different from my experience now. They have totally stepped up their cocktail game. The fall menu had at least 25 fancy drinks. The place was bustling with energy when we arrived, and we were lucky to snag two spots at the bar. The bartenders clearly knew what they were doing. I loved he martini and mule. I really liked how the bartenders were rotating duties to keep the place running smoothly. The other side literally is a bottle shop. We went home with a bottle of white thanks to the nice man who helped us pick a delicious choice. We will be returning for sure! read more

By far my favorite bar so far in Columbus. The draft menu is unique & plentiful. Once they're out, they're out & a different draft is set up so get it while it lasts! The bar is almost get up like a rustic coffee spot & I've actually seen people working while drinking drafts. There's a Mexican food truck permanently parked out on the patio with fantastic & inexpensive tacos which you can eat inside. The bar also had a small store where you can buy a vast number of wines & beers which can be consumed in the bar. It's a very interesting environment inside with the left side being a bar and the right side being a carry out store. There are a huge amount of beers, wines, non alcoholic drinks as well as a good amount of specialty cocktails and beer on tap. It's fun to sit on the patio and dogs are allowed on the patio as well! There's also a taco truck that's always there for you to grab some food. Don't drink? You can go here for household items, too, like dishwasher etc. It's super cool but also really laid back. I am super excited that The Bottle Shop has opened just around the corner! For the longest time, I didn't even know that changes were afoot at the beer/wine/carry-out. And then when I heard that a bar was going in, I was skeptical. Slowly that all began to change, and now I'm really excited about the addition to the neighborhood. Why did it change you ask? Well, more and more frequently I heard friends mention it. And not just mention a single visit, but repeat visits. Closely timed repeat visits. This was something that warranted further investigation. The space is not large, and the atmosphere reminds me of a '90s coffee shop vibe. Intimate tables, a few couches. It seems like just the place to go if you merely want to hang out with Friends. (See what I did there?) All the atmosphere in the world wouldn't matter if the bar itself wasn't good. And it is. The cocktails are great. They are interesting and well-crafted. But not in a pretentious "I will now make you a fancy cocktail while you admire my skill and collection of obscure bitters" kind of way. (Although they do have quite the collection of bitters). Instead, the bartenders all seem to just enjoy making quality drinks. And when we were there they were eager and willing to answer questions and talk about what they were doing and why. Between the atmosphere and the staff, it's clear that this is not a pretentious cocktail bar but is instead a welcoming one. It's certainly one that makes me eager to go back. Plus, if cocktail are not your thing, they have a great beer list. So there's a little something for everyone. This is a great bar. The fact that it's walking distance from my house earns it points but there are other places walking distance from my house I wouldn't bother with. The Bottle Shop has the following going for it. A great half-price beer and no corkage fee happy hour. The beer selection changes and there are always delicious selections on tap. Cocktails made by experts. There are a few bars in town riding the cocktail train and many are excellent. Our little Bottle Shop could win a throw down with any of them. A food truck run by some folks from Oaxaca. They aren't shy with the spice in the red salsa so try it. I currently am on a tostada kick. An excellent selection of wine in the carry out. Probably one of my favorite places to grab a beer in Columbus...to drink in or take out! Its your typical atypical Columbus projects - eclectic, dark, and strange. It's almost like two places in one: Both a bar and a liquor store! You can grab a beer or a fancy cocktail or select a bottle from their awesome and rotating selection to take home You can even grab a bottled beer and they'll let you crack it open - free of charge! This place has craft cocktails they change seasonally. Score! This place let's you bring your well behaved dog. Amazing! This place also has a semi-permanent food truck out side. Wahoo! This place shows art films on a large screen without sound so you can drift in and out of conversation and still be pleasantly entertained. I recently brought my family there before the rush on a Friday and the manager made us our cocktails. She was dynamic, friendly, and I really cannot speak better about this place. Side note, I have worked in the beverage industry in NYC and Wisconsin and I enjoy the selection at Bottleshop too. This was many months ago, hope they got their act together since. But this visit highlights a sad trend of mediocrity, but an expectation to charge premium prices nonetheless. To some extent it passes, because people are sheep. I can't recall the beer selection, but I do remember it was small and decent at best. My wife asked for a Sazerac. The "bartender" was talked thru the recipe by the other dude, and he fumbled thru the steps and proportions....the result was mediocre. My wife is too polite to allow me to have objected right there, but that is why I vent here. I cannot understand how you expect customers to pay a premium price for your staff to learn on the job. If you charge premium, then better bloody deliver premium. Don't expect your customer to pay for you to learn your trade. read more

The bottle shop is one of my favorite spots in town. I try to go for happy hour since all the draughts are half off, but I'll often find my way there after 7pm as well. The cocktail menu changes with the season and all the ones I have tried have been both interesting and delicious. The most recent cocktail I had used matcha in it (so I considered it a health food). Their beer list is also often changing, but they hold onto some great staples. They have a great outdoor area, and when the food truck is up you're able to get both delicious drinks and tasty foods. If it's chilly out, inside is super cute and they always have a silent movie projected on the wall (but never sports, which I appreciate). Also, I love that after grabbing drinks there, you can go to the actual "bottle shop" side and grab wine or beer from their great selection to take to your next destination. The owners are really wonderful people, and I'm so appreciative of their friendliness, excitement, and interesting drinks and events. read more

Decided to check the place out since its new. It had a beer store on one side and on the other was a bar. The bar setting had a very cozy feel like you were in your own living room. They had old movies playing on the big screen. The service was excellent and the guests there were friendly too. JT, the Bartendar, made me a amazing Old Fashion that was so yummy. I am a picky Old Fashion drinker! We were visiting from Dallas, Texas so would go back for sure if we come back to Ohio. Also on a side note the bathrooms are cute and clean.
