My husband and I stopped here for a cocktail before our pizza crawl. The bartenders were on it and helped us right away. I got a beer suggestion from him that was delicious and refreshing. My husband ordered the Old Fashioned and he liked it as well. The place was very clean (including bathroom) and there were a lot of drink specials on the chalkboard menu. This place was peak when Allie was there. Still a few really strong tenders there, that she hired. The vibe is great, beer selections are meh, whiskey selections are... ok... but have been better. Most reliable bar in Columbus - everything is basically always on HH ($5 beers, cheap cocktails) with a super friendly staff and accessible indoor/outdoor seating. Great for any night out with friends, date nights, etc... especially if you're not looking to break the bank. I personally love their proximity to other food places and their allowance of whatever outside food you want - makes for a great chill, eat dinner, and play board games spot :) Just moved out of Columbus after 10 years. Such a great bourbon selection. So many to choose from and some are unique or hard to find. They also have a nice draft list and have deals throughout the week on beers and Bourbon. We have really come to love barrel and taps! We have been here a few times now and originally I was going for beer. No no no. Go for the bourbon. The list of bourbon they have is a lengthy one and most are at a decent price from what I can tell. The beer list is nice too, and if there is something on tap that I particularly want, I will get that. But my first look now is pretty much a bourbon. The selection is great, they have a great outdoor space, and we really enjoy hanging out here. We have on multiple occasions now wanted to just stay there longer when we had somewhere else we needed to be. Pretty much anytime we are in Grandview, I feel like we ill be making barrel and taps a stopping spot, even if it's just to swing in for a bourbon. Definitely a staple when we are I Grandview now. We really like the spot and the vibes are good as well. Definitely will be making many stops here, especially now that the weather has turned and some time can be spent out on the patio! read more

Typed this review as I am unfortunately sitting in this establishment and witnessed the following. A couple young men walked and the bartender, a younger female, said "Where are your masks?" They said they didn't have any, while standing at the bar, and she proceeded to hand them a mask which they put on. Note everyone else that was sitting at the bar DID NOT have a mask on. One, which was standing behind the bar near the restroom, was putting a mask on when she began screaming "OUT!" "GET OUT OF HERE!" at the top of her lungs. No exaggeration here. She was screaming at them to leave because one put a mask on, which she provided, below the nose. Again please note that everyone at the bar DID NOT have a mask. A couple major items to note that the owner needs to address: 1. The female bartender lowered her mask, below the nose and mouth, and yelled at these guest's, for not wearing a mask below the nose. Contradictory? Yes. 2. The female bartender yelled profanity towards these individuals which I am unable to even type. For reference starting with the "F" and "B" words. This is absurd for this women to say this. What in the world gives her the right to say any of those words?? 3. She inconvenienced other guests and made them (which is us) feel extremely uncomfortable (the other guests, AKA. Me) got up and left. We paid for our drinks but nothing more. She deserved nothing for how she treated these guests. Simply put, will never go back to place that treats customers in such a demeanor that this women did. So many other superb places in grandview / Columbus that treat patrons with respect. read more

If you like craft beer and/or quality bourbon this is a great new bar for you. It's a cozy spot that will probably feel more like being at a good buddy's house but with the accommodations of a bar that knows what the hell they're doing. On an actual upside, there's no kitchen, so you can bring in food from your favorite place or just order a pizza. You can pair one of their many unique draft beers (or bourbons) with whatever the heck you want to eat. I can definitely see this becoming a neighborhood favorite. read more

I drive and walk down 3rd Avenue daily, so having a new spot along this stretch was pretty cool! We've been in a few times since they opened and I'll say it's a pretty solid new spot. I have to admit, I just don't like bourbon. My husband loves it though, so I'm glad they offer beer and other alternatives so he can enjoy the $5 old fashioned and other cocktails while I have a beer. The cocktail and beer lists are great, the building is really neat and of course the walk is perfect. I love the patio and open areas for this time of year! Hopefully they can get some food trucks to stop by occasionally, otherwise you can get food delivered or walk somewhere for carry out. A few times we have been in the service has been slow, so hopefully as the newness wears off that will improve. I understand cocktails take a while to make, but often just being acknowledged when you sit down helps. I definitely hope this spot sticks around- a great addition to the grandview area! read more

Atmosphere and actual building are a great. They have games and a nice patio which are awesome as well. The worst part is was the staff that day. The bartender that was there was so rude to our entire party the entire time we were there. Every time we asked for a beer he rolled his eyes. We paid for touch tunes and he turned it down so we were unable to hear. We would have stayed for multiple hours but everyone felt it wasn't worth it to deal with his attitude. read more

What a find in Grandview! It's been opened a little over a month. Driving down 3rd Ave, the patio caught our eye. People hanging out smiling and talking. Stopped and went in- wow. Nice open space, long bar, tables and chairs and a patio. There are TV's for viewing sports etc. the bartender was friendly. The beverages were cold. Not sure if they have food. I think signage out front is coming. There is a little parking out back, but seems to have mostly street parking around. The music playing inside the bar was not to loud that you could not talk. Nice neighborhood spot in Grandview with lots of bourbon! It's really nice inside with an awesome outdoor patio for nice weather. My only con is there wasn't any AC, so it was just as hot inside as outside. Drafts are $5 all day, with happy hour specials on cocktails/well drinks. The staff is super nice and friendly. I would definitely return but I think I would come for the bourbon or cocktails rather than the beer. Not that the beer selection is bad, but it feels better suited for fancier drinks. read more

Went with some friends for drinks on a Friday evening. The atmosphere was relaxed and casual. The cocktails looked great but at 7pm they were already out of all their "B&T barrel aged" bourbons so I stuck with beer. They do have a rather extensive bourbon selection which some of the party enjoyed. The beer is $5 all drafts BUT anything over like 6% is a 10oz pour (usually the cutoff is more like 8 or 9%). There's games available and the outdoor space looks nice. No table service or food but there was a food truck outside. Small but chill. We'd definitely go back read more

I've given this place a few visits. First time when they opened the Bartender was attentive and enthusiastic and talked about all of the rare cool bourbons they planned to have. Since then my visits have come with a feeling they don't want you there. Even when not busy the bartenders just sit in the corner and don't seem to want to be there. On one subsequent visit I asked again about the bourbons and this time was met with a dim "we get whatever is at Giant Eagle". My most recent visit on 6/6/20 my girlfriend and I found a fairly socially distanced spot outside. I walk inside to a mildly filled building and stood at the bar to order us drinks. After about 10min in passing the bartender just looks at me and says "we are at capacity, I can't serve you" and walks away, which was a little puzzling since we had already secured a place outside. While I respect the social responsibility towards Covid, it just kind of solidified my feeling that the place is not as welcoming as I would expect. read more

As soon as you walk in this bar you can sense a comfortable energy. The bar tenders greeted me with a welcoming smile and got my drink right away! One of the bar tenders gave me a lot of great information on the drinks, which is helpful since I'm not an avid bourbon drinker. I plan on coming back with some friends! Underwhelming, unfinished, overpriced, and loud. I think this spot has alot of potential, but we've checked it out twice now since it's opened and haven't seen too much improvement so far. There are no acoustical features/buffers in the bar so the chatter from everyone plus music makes the space incredibly loud even when it's not too crowded. The lighting could also use some updating/reconfiguring. Once the sun set it seemed that the main source of light was the glow of the tvs. Like others have mentioned the prices seemed WAY high for the area, and attention from the bartenders was lacking.
