I visited Dr. Steinys between 2016 and 2018, and she is by far my favorite chiropractor. She took the time to listen to any challenges I had and helped me build a manageable plan, all with a level of integrity, support, understanding, and humor that I deeply appreciated. I liked her so much that I would drive in from the suburbs just for my appointments! If I still lived in Chicago, I would definitely still be seeing her. Thank you, Dr. Steinys, for all your support and care! read more

Dr. Steinys is awesome. I had an old back injury from bedside nursing a few years back and I was nervous how my back would handle pregnancy. I found her on yelp when I was about 20 weeks pregnant and was starting to have persistent back pain. She got me in for a consult quickly and patiently worked with me to help relieve my pain. My back pain has been consistently better and nearly gone since I have been seeing her throughout this pregnancy. Whenever my pain starts to creep back, or I start to feel tight or just uncomfortable (which is frequently nowadays) a quick adjustment and stretching exercises with Dr. Steinys make me feel better in a matter of hours. I actually feel lighter. She is extremely knowledgeable, patient, kind, and willing to listen to all of your needs. Her office is great, and Ashley at the front desk always quickly responds to emails and phone calls and is really good at her job....always welcoming you in to your appointment. They are also great at explaining your insurance benefits which is a nice touch! I will definitely be keeping up with Dr. Steinys even after pregnancy. read more

I've been a patient of Dr Steinys for the last 3 years, and can't imagine going elsewhere for my back issues and physical therapy (knees, posture etc). She is a good listener and takes time to properly examine you. The feedback loop is important to me, and Dr Steinys has always been super open minded to listen and adjust her plan based on what I say (like during a session she'll ask if doing x works, and if it doesn't, come up with a different plan y). I've been here for adjustments, PT and now the graston technique! You need someone you can trust. This is the place for me! read more

I don't normally have good things to say about those in the medical profession. We don't have health care, we have sick care, but this is not one of those rants. This is a rave. Dr. Steinys, pardon the pun, totally has my back. I first saw her during my pregnancy four years ago when my uber-cracking back fused into one, inflexible column giving me no end of pain. She taught me great stretches, helped manipulate my spine and neck to relieve pain as I grew larger and more inflexible. When the relaxin kicked in, my hips actually fell out of place so I was a hot mess of joint dysfunction. Dr. Steinys used accupuncture and manipulation to get me through. More recently, I took another chiropractic practice up on their offer to take x-rays. I'm obviously a glutton for punishment. My perverse curiousity was rewarded. I am absolutely as malformed and degenerative as I suspected. But I mention this because of the stark contrast in style to Dr. Steinys. The chiropractor at this OTHER practice actually outlined in great detail how my arthritis and curved spine and poor posture is going to ultimately kill me after leaving me with hideous diseases and pain while I was alive. For the bargain price of $1100 she could reverse some, not all, of this damage. Then she handed me a financial contract. Now, I am in sales, have a fundamental mistrust of anyone in the American medical industry and am rarely influenced by bullies - but I left this office in tears. My first call was to my husband apologizing for being so defective and leaving him a single parent. My next was to Dr. Steinys to get a dose of reality. Dr. Steinys doesn't sugar coat details - she has told me to lose weight, quit sitting in front of a computer for 10 hours a day, do my exercises or keep being a weak-backed idiot (ok, she didn't say idiot) - but she also doesn't use scare-tactics, threats, or nutty crack-pot voo-doo science to make people feel like poop. Rather, she's practical (frequency of appointments), constructive (showing and coaching moves to create balance and core strength for prevention and treatment), and effective (I have never not left her office feeling taller, stronger, and either painfree or damn close). If you have neck, back or limb pain - you owe it to yourself to add Core Chiropractic and Dr. Steinys to your treatment. If you are training for an athletic event, losing weight, having a baby, or have a stupid job that makes you sit still for way too friggin long... go see her. She is one of the good guys. The ONLY thing she could do better is move into my building. I hate bucktown. :) read more

Best chiropractor around! I love going here for regular adjustments and maintenance. Dr. Steinys is so knowledgeable and helpful.

I found Dr Steinys through my girlfriend... my gf had needed some help during her pregnancy and work out great. A month or so later I found myself looking for someone to work with to continue treatment with my 'carpal tunnel-like' symptoms due to muscle issues in my arm. Dr Steinys does the Graston Technique which has historically worked very well for me - so it was nice to find out she not only took my insurance but does this technique! She does a lot more than that though in doing adjustments and giving me a healthy amount of stretches/exercises to do to help my arms in general and body as a whole. Without a doubt highly recommended. read more

I've probably told over a dozen women about Dr. Steinys...I just realized I hadn't written a review yet! I went to see Dr. Steinys a couple of days after my due date in August 2010. According to my OB, I was waaaay far off from delivery...my baby was snug as a bug all up in my belly (I was maybe 1/2 cm dilated. Maybe). Not wanting to wait any longer (and hoping to avoid being induced), I set up an appointment with Dr. Steinys. SO glad I did! Saw her at around 5pm. The next morning, I woke up feeling achy and stayed home from work. By noon the contractions started and I knew I was officially in labor. Around 4pm my water broke (just in time for me to hit rush hour traffic getting to the hospital, yay). Less than 10 hours later, at 1:30am, baby in my arms! I know some people might think it's coincidence, but I am a believer and highly recommend Dr. Steinys and acupuncture as a tool to help get labor going. read more

I've had many deep tissue and sports massages done by Lauren over the past couple of years. She does amazing work and is incredibly knowledgeable about her work. She understands how to handle certain injuries and gave me some stretches to help myself from getting injured. As a runner, I'm glad that I could go to somebody who has worked with other athletes and knows what muscles need work. I've been pretty spoiled by her, and other massages aren't as good. Of course, deep tissue can be painful! read more

I came her when I developed lower back pain during my pregnancy. Dr. Steinys helped me manage my lower back pain through my pregnancy and after my pregnancy. I was so happy that I found her. Her staff are very professional and her massage therapists, especially Amelia, are so good at what they are doing. I feel so much better after each session. I highly recommend this team to treat your chiropractic need. read more

Oh my GOODNESS!!! I was referred to Dr. S by my midwives because my baby was breech and I was unwilling to have a C-section. I saw her literally every other day from 38 weeks until delivery. Her work with my hips, my back, the acupuncture, the deep tissue massages ( I heart MANNY!!!) the ball excercises and the moxa-stick did the trick. I delivered a beautifully healthy baby head first because of her and her staff! And my insurance covered 80%- Now I am back with her as I am experiencing severe back pain and I am certain that I will be good to go in her (and Manny's) hands! WOWWWW is all that needs to be said! read more

I went here hoping for some instant relief and instead got an instant headache. Walked in 15 minutes prior to my apt ready to fill out paper work only to have the secretary have me wait 15 while she rang up other clients. Finally I got my paperwork to fill out and waited an additional 40 mins. before the secretary looked it over. Meanwhile the doctor came to the waiting room several times without offering any kind greetings or even acnkowledging my mom and I waiting. (It wasnt hard to miss us the lobby is very small)After an hour I just decided to leave. I got a strange vibe from this place due to their lack of attention to new patients and uninviting energy of the doctor. In addition to this rant I also noticed they push a lot of supplements and creams on patients. So bring extra cash if you do go. (This must be the real money maker). I will def not be back. read more

I found Dr. Steinys by doing a google search for prenatal chiropractors. I'd had trouble with my back early on in my pregnancy and needed some serious cracking. I have been feeling great since going here- most of all I appreciate Dr. Steiny's no-pressure approach- I've had some bad experiences with chiros who wanted me to come in once a week or more (ridiculous!) but she's really laid-back. The office is decorated well, and I'm always seen promptly. Can't beat the parking- there is valet free with validation. I'm super happy with this practice. read more

I am literally in tears having to leave Dr. Steinys and Laura at Core Chiropractic since my husband and I are moving to California. I started experiencing terrible migraines and tension headaches 2 years ago from a stressful job in front of the computer for 9 hours a day. I found Dr. Michelle Steinys on the Blue Cross Blue Shield website, and she is the best chiropractor I've ever had! (of about 7 in my life). Later, my husband developed shin splints and a problem with his achilles while marathon training, and she treated him to the point of totally curing his problems! She'll do exercises, gua sha muscle work, laser and electrode therapy, adjustments and even acupuncture. There are also plenty of vitamins and creams to choose from to assist with treatment that help immensely. Laura is one of the massage therapists, and again, she is the best I have ever seen in my life (of about 20 - I've had back problems since the age 11). Laura is amaaaaaazing at deep tissue (despite being extremely petite!) and helped incredibly with my TMJ jaw problems, back and next tension as well as my husband's leg and foot pain. If you want an amazing 50 minute massage, adjustments and other treatment (covered by your insurance with BCBS and other carriers!!) - go to Core Chiropractic! You won't be disappointed. read more

I have been to many chiropractors and accupuncturists over the past 15 years and Dr. Steinys is the best of the best. I can't say enough good things about her and her practice. I first went to her for help with flipping a breech baby. With in a few apointments the baby did indeed flip but for preventative measures I kept on going. Dr. Steinys has greatly helped with the expected aches and pains of pregnancy. I plan to continue seeing her for post natal care and would recommend her to any expecting Mom or any person looking for a chiropractor you can trust! read more

Updated: started chiropractic care much earlier in pregnancy #2 (because knowing is half the battle, right?). Baby was in breech position at 32 weeks. 2 extra adjustment sessions and 2 acupuncture treatments later, and baby flipped a few hours after the second session. Follow up adjustments and exercises at home kept her head down the rest of the pregnancy. Prenatal massages with Tara were fantastic, and as always Dr. Steinys is wonderful at her profession. We are just about to leave the hospital with our new little one who was born VBAC. This awesome birth brought to you by Core Chiropractics. PS- refer friends and Dr. Steinys will be sure to return the favor! read more

I've been seeing Dr. Steinys at Core Chiropractic for about 1.5yrs for treatment to ease my TMJ Disorder and related issues like headaches, neck problems, and general alignment. I've seen several other Chiropractors in the Chicago area and feel most comfortable at Core. Dr. Steinys cares about what's going on in my life that's a stressor for my issues and offers suggestions to work on stress management, supplements to try, and exercises. I actually look forward to the myofascial release, yes it brings tears to my eyes but truly helps my TMJ pain. Additionally, Lauren is a top-notch trigger point massage therapist. She has performed miracles for my TMJ pain- seriously her hands are magic. I go in with a headache and sore jaw- leave it on her massage table. Lauren knows her anatomy and will explain what she's working on you, and how to perform self-care in between my biweekly visits. If you're a wimp, let her know or try another therapist on staff- not me, I need the 'deep-tissue-shove-thumb-as-far-into-my-masseter-muscles-and-base-of-skull' kind of massage, and she does it wonderfully! I appreciate the reminder calls for upcoming appointments, and usually Amy is the receptionist when I come in- always greets me with a smile and asks how I'm doing. I highly recommend Core Chiropractic! read more

Since Dr. Steinys of Core shares space w/Progessive Chiropractic, my primary chiropractor, I have had the opportunity to see her from time to time when Dr. Ezgur is away or on the rare occasion when I am unable to accommodate his schedule. Her manner is friendly and calm, reassuring. If I did not already have a regular chiropractor, I'd be pleased to see Dr. Steinys more often. read more

I have been having terrible TMJ issues. A friend referred me to Core and Dr. Steinys. I was able to quickly make an appointment, the check in was smooth, the exam thorough. I left there feeling like I had a plan to alleviate my pain. I will definitely be back and am glad that I was referred here. Very clean and professional. read more

I found Dr. Steinys through searching on the internet. I wanted to find a chiropractor that treats with minor pelvis alignment. Due to my exercise routine and a small birth defect, I generally see a chiropractor once every couple years to make sure my pelvis is aligned. My conditions have been treated by others in different cities. I had about 3 or 4 sessions with Dr. Steinys, the first session she listened to my symptoms and nothing was done by her, she sent me to her assist with some stretch movements which I usually do on my own routine. Then I went back for more sessions, she started cracking my back with no reasons and no prior warning, after telling me to turn on my back. After I got my back cracked with no warning for like 5 minutes, she then sends me to her assistant to work on some stretches. This pattern persisted for another 2 sessions, so I prompted the question how is this going to help with my pelvis alignment in my last session with her. Dr. Steinys could not answer my question and told me that there different treatment methods (which I respect). However, she was not able to provide an explanation why I was rushed out by her after every session to have my back cracked like an assembly line. She kept saying "if you want to seek other chiropractors to treatment, I am fine with that....." I don't find her very professional at at. In fact, my impression is the the shop is run like an assembly line and everyone is treated the same way (comes in crack their backs, then go to her assistant for some stretch routine). This was night and day compared to the other chiropractors I have had in the past, who asked questions and know what to do in different situations. At the end of the session, she didn't even know what my problems were and charge bunch of money. read more

I love Dr. Steinys. I have been seeing her on and off for 7 years, which is wild. She's always on time for her appointments, listens very well, and is always in tune with what hurts & is out of whack. I always feel better after seeing her & it means a lot to me that she always listens to your concerns with what's wrong and makes sure you get everything you need to feel better. I'm really thankful I found her! read more

Good service and prompt. Very well put together office. Staff was very professional and courteous.

I cannot recommend Dr. Steinys and her team enough. Her approach is professional, friendly and reassuring and in no way pushy. The office is spotlessly clean and so inviting and always smells great, like essential oils, but not too strong! I went to Dr Steinys with some pelvic pain during pregnancy and also to try the Webster technique because my baby was breach. Because I was 36 weeks along and we were fast approaching the birth, she had me come twice a week and we did adjustments, physical therapy, moxibustion and acupuncture. She also had me see one of the wonderful massage therapists once a week to work out the back and hip pain that can be common in late pregnancy. My insurance even covered the massages. Heavenly! Unfortunately the baby did not turn because a later scan revealed that he had the cord wrapped around him. However, despite this, the chiro and other alternative therapies really kept me comfortable in late pregnancy and I enjoyed working with Dr. Steinys. I would definitely highly recommend Core Chiropractic to anyone looking for a chiro. We have BCBS PPO and were covered for everything but the acupuncture. read more

Love Core Chiropractic! Went to Dr. Steinys during my pregnancy. She did an amazing job to help alleviate my pelvic pain through adjustments and exercises. I highly recommend her! Without any reservations, Dr. Steinys and Core Chiropractic Health get five stars. I started seeing Dr. Steinys last summer when I was 7 months pregnant. I was very pleased with the level of service and Dr. Steinys' approach. I have to agree with an earlier reviewer that the prompt service is appreciated, too. Dr. Steinys really listens to me and I've been consistently pleased with her treatment plans (e.g. suggested frequency of visits, massage therapy, acupuncture, etc.) P.S. The new office on Milwaukee Avenue is beautiful. read more

Great office...Simply the best...lots of free parking in the neighborhood...The doctor did a reall great job of getting me out of pain.

This is the first time I have reviewed an establishment and am doing so because of the frustration I have had with Core Chiro. I saw Dr. Steinys in 2010 while I was pregnant and a few times in 2011 after I had my baby. Her billing practices were always somewhat mysterious, however, I always paid what she said I owed. The last time I saw Dr. Steinys in 2010 was in early April. I wasn't back until early 2011 when I saw her several times. At each visit in 2011 neither Dr. Steinys nor her office assistant said anything about a balance owed from 2010. Then, in JUNE 2011 my husband received a nasty call from Core Chiro saying I had a large past due balance from JAN/FEB 2010! I called to find out what was going on, as Dr. Steinys nor her office said anything about a balance from 2010 at any of my visits in 2011. I was sure there was a mistake. Instead, Dr. Steiny's office assistant and outside billing assistant (who is one of the least friendly people I have ever dealt with) both struggled to explain what was going on (it was the classic case of each person saying the other was responsible and should know what was going on but neither did). Dr. Steinys then called me and said yes, in fact her office was billing me in JUNE 2011 for services in JAN/FEB 2010. She apologized for the fact that nobody mentioned this when I was IN HER OFFICE in 2011, but she still wanted payment. I then called back 3 different times to pay the balance but always got her answering machine. To make matters worse, I also received a letter from a collection agency trying to collect the debt. I immediately called the collection agency and was told "the debt was referred in error and the doctor took it back." My husband and I are in the process of buying a house. To think that Dr. Steinys' sloppy billing practices and apparent lack of office organization could jeopardize that is outrageous. Needless to say, I won't be back again, lest I receive a bill for services several years later! read more
