I'd say this is very much a "you get what you pay for" scenario in the best way! Sure, the space resembles a doctor's office and there's certainly no aromatherapy/salt lamps/spa aspects, but that's what's great about it. For $55 I got a good massage that focused on my problem areas rather than spending more for all of the "extras". It definitely depends on which student gives the massage and their level of training, but I absolutely lucked out with mine. I asked for firm pressure and she delivered. It arguably was one of the best massages I've ever received. At the end she went over her findings and gave me tips on how to stretch and what to ask for in a massage next time. I'm extremely disappointed with how Emmanuel handled my membership issue and spoke to me. I had gone out of my way to check with a team member ahead of time to confirm that my membership renewal and credits were in order, and I was clearly told everything was fine. On the day of my appointment, I was told the complete opposite and that my membership couldn't be honored, possibly due to a system error. When I escalated the issue to Emmanuel, he simply stated he has "45 employees under him" and cannot be responsible for what his staff tells customers. As a result, I was given an ultimatum to either cancel my appointment or pay full price, despite having confirmed everything in advance. This level of miscommunication and lack of accountability is incredibly frustrating. Customers should be able to rely on what they're told, especially when they take the extra step to double check ahead of time. read more

Booked a massage and informed the call taker that I had a gift certificate that was close to 5 years old. The receptionist informed me that it was still good and had til the end of the year and he could see it in the system. I showed up the day of the massage and presented my certificates, had the massage and checked out. I noticed that my credit card was charged $50. I called them about the charge and was informed that the manager had to reverse the charge. Fast forward... I called again since the charge was still there. I was told it was explained in an email and it's for inflation costs since the certificate was purchased. Please note I never received such email. I politely explained that should have been communicated when I booked or the day of the massage. Then I was informed it was in the fine print on the gift certificate. Another fib from the establishment... I fished the certificate from the empty trash can (I had just ripped it before this review) and what do you know?.... It was nowhere on the certificate. I'm omitting names for privacy but kept everything else. Bottom line is just beware of hidden fees and lack of communication. As someone who is an advocate for student massages, this one was genuinely one of the worst I've ever had. My masseuse (student #1, she didn't introduce herself) was not attentive to needs/requests and at times, didn't seem to know how to fill the time. I asked for a massage that was focused on the back and neck; when she asked if the pressure was okay, I told her that I'd like a stronger/deeper pressure as I barely felt anything. What I received was essentially rubbing oil onto my back for an entire hour, barely any pressure whatsoever. Halfway through the massage I reminded her again that I'd like more pressure applied but to no avail. None of the stretches she performed actually stretched anything. I was genuinely flabbergasted at the experience; I've never wanted a massage to end sooner. Understand that each student massage will have varying results but this level of service should not be allowed. Very disappointed. read more

Alex did a wonderful job making me comfortable and explaining how he was going to massage my trigger points and work through knots. He helped release tension in places I didn't even know existed! Wanted a massage badly and was looking to see if I could get one same day. This task is typically impossible but I saw this spot, their homepage advertised same day bookings and they actually had times available on their booking site with Alex! I checked the reviews for any mentions of Alex and they were all positive so I was pretty excited. From start to finish Alex was fantastic. He was very accommodating from the get go, offering to turn on the heating on the bed, covered my hair with a towel to keep my hair out of the way and support for my shoulders while he worked on me. It was clear that he was pretty knowledgeable with the body/muscles/anatomy and how to best take care of me with mobility and relaxation in mind, these two things are not always the easiest to find in one massage. I pretty much transcended by the end of the massage and was so, so happy to be pleased and not disappointed with trying out a new business and new therapist. I've been on the search for a good massage place by me that wasn't overpriced and was actually good quality. I almost gave up but came across this place through my research. First of all I love that they give discounted prices for student masseuses and I think that's a great deal for both the client and the students. My masseuse was Alex and he was amazing. He really listened to my needs and went for it. I really needed a deep tissue massage and a lot of masseuses think because I have a smaller frame, that I can't handle more pressure. But he gave me exactly what I needed and I feel so much better. (I work at least 50 hours a week in the hospital) They also offer 10% off for new clients Mon-Fri. I'm definitely coming back again! The only thing is they don't have private parking but they are located in downtown Chicago, so that's what's to be expected. But it's really no big deal. read more

I knew I was going to need some relief after the Chicago Marathon, and I signed up for a massage with Riki for the day after. I made an appointment about a month in advance, though she also told me on the day itself that they were not as busy as they have been in the past. RN Massage Therapy Center was definitely the place to be! Riki was super friendly and attentive. I've had many massages in my life, but this one was different: less slippy slide-y and more concentrated. Riki's extra focus on my calves and quads were perfect for post race relief. The massage also included some stretching, which was just what I needed. There's a first-time discount as well as a Yelp check-in discount. I booked a massage here on 11/28/2020 and I can't begin to explain how thankful I am for Iryna and her magical hands. First of all, the booking system is the easiest I've ever seen. Everything you need to know and do is written all over the website. They even have same day booking if there are any openings. This place is also being super COVID cautious which I appreciate a lot. You get your temperature checked the minute you walk in and a COVID symptom checklist is done right before your appointment. Even the lobby/waiting area chairs are placed 6ft apart. You are asked to keep your mask on the entire time, even during your massage, and because this place values their employees, the staff has the right to deny you service if you have any COVID symptoms, even if it just a runny nose from allergies. My respect for this business kept climbing further and further throughout my entire appointment. The massage itself was extremely relaxing. I had the deep tissue massage (80 minutes) and I felt so relaxed and energetic afterwards. Iryna made sure to evaluate my soreness/discomfort areas and explained every little step she took. She even gave me advice on what to do for lower back pain when I'm at home. Prices are extremely decent for the area and the service you get. If you don't want to splurge, they do have student staff for about 40$ a massage. I highly recommend this place! So glad I found my go-to massage therapy! read more

This place is great for cheapie massages. And also, you are getting them from people who are actual massage students. You have to come into the building and dial on the pad before you get in. When at the 3rd floor, you see a receptionist who asks you to fill out a sheet with problem areas to address. Then the student comes and finds you and takes you to the massage room. Now this is an actual ROOM which is nice. You can take off all that you feel comfortable, and I had Lev (a boy) who was great at making me (a girl) feel totally comfortable. Good communication, helpful and offered tips and was good at working my trouble spots. Warning- they do take a card when you make an appointment, and do charge for the whole massage if you are a no-show or you cancel within 12 hours of the appointment. read more

Please make sure you know what you are getting into. The massage therapist was good. However, being from out of town we didn't understand Chicago commutes. We called to let them know we were running late. They said ok. I didn't think to call back, because we were looking for parking. They texted and I responded what was going on. They never told us we would be charged in full. Had they said that we could have dropped one of us off to run in and get the most of the massage. When I responded to the text I didn't get a response. When we got there again the receptionist never said anything about time. She said to go sit in the room and the therapists would come and get us. It wasn't until we were in the room they told us how long we had left. They could tell I was upset so my therapist and the other left the room to speak to the receptionist. She came back several minutes later and said there wasn't anything she could do. I could go speak with the receptionist. So, I had my partner stay there and get the massage and I left with nun therapist. She dropped me off at the receptionist who had already written down an email for the owner and said that is all she can do. My therapist had already disappeared. So, after that I got to go sit in the waiting room for the next 20 minutes. I emailed the owner asking for a phone call. I got an email back, and again I said I needed a phone call. He said he can't. He then said he would review the info I gave him and get back to me. Well, he just got back to me saying he can't refund any of my money. Avoid this place. Spend you money elsewhere as the service from the next massage place we went to was amazing. I am shocked the owner can get away with being so irresponsible. Also, the staff is rude and unprofessional if any hiccups occur. They were not forthcoming with information about what I had paid for. They do make you pay in full at the time of the appointment. That should have been my first clue that they were not an upstanding business. However, we were on vacation and I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I really wish I hadn't. read more

Booked a 110 min massage for self and friend that was delightful. Firm but still relaxing, which seems like an impossible combo but they were able to do it. Nice relaxing classical music. Tip: they are also a massage school and offer 60 min massages with students at a discounted rate of $40. These massages are supervised but clients won't even notice. They have heaters on the bed but you might need to ask for them to turn it on or adjust the temperature. read more

Hard to decide how many stars to assign this place. They were easy to work with for making a booking. The place is on the 3rd fl of a high rise, right next to the training school. It felt like walking into an office, rather than a massage center. Maybe our expectation of a massage are now synonymous with a spa but at the price of $80/hr per person, we were certainly comparing it to those experiences. The massage itself was good, relaxing, with the right amount of pressure. They started a little late but still took us a full hour. I just wasn't able to say the massage is something so unique or special to pay up for even though ambiance is something we gave up here. Early this afternoon I contacted this massage clinic and told the receptionist that I could be here within the hour. She seemed concerned over the phone because I told her I'd be traveling from Logan Square but I assured her I'd rush in an Uber and she decided to schedule me for an appointment this afternoon for 1:15 PM. I described the pain I had in my neck, jaw, shoulders and sinus areas and she asked if I'd prefer a chair massage and whether I wanted 50 minutes or an 80 minute treatment. Honestly a quick chair massage wasn't on my agenda and I would have preferred a full hour but I chose 50 minutes and she wanted me to provide her with my full legal name, zip code and billing zip code. She also requested me to fill out a link via text and didn't force me to read my credit card information to her since I was in an Uber. Once I arrived my temperature was taken and I was asked to fill out more information on an electronic tablet and she requested me to show her my credit card. I felt her nervous energy and didn't really enjoy it but let her take this information because it's part of the clinic's regulations and I desperately needed a good massage. My therapist met me at 1:15 escorted me to a massage room and we chatted for 5 minutes to discuss my problem areas. She left me alone for an additional 6 minutes and gave me privacy to undress and lay on the heated massage table. My therapist Simone was personable and polite; but I truly felt the experience itself was rushed and instead of a full 50 minute massage I think I only received 40 minutes based on the fact that I was returned to the reception/lobby area by 2:08 Pm. The receptionist had already charged my credit card before my services were received which is fine with me; but I was instantly shown a screen with tips already prepared ahead of time rather than the customer being allowed to type in a specific tip amount. I tipped the traditional 20% and received an automatic message to my cell phone thanking me for the transaction. Right away the receptionist seemed nervous and told me according to her machine my credit card wasn't charged. I told her I received a confirmation text and she insisted I wasn't charged. I suggested we call my bank and she asked me for a different credit card so we could run the transaction through again. I was able to chat with a customer service representative from my bank and after 5 minutes my bank representative verified my credit card had been charged. The receptionist continued to panic and my vibe was ruined. You know that feeling you get when you've just had a really good massage? Honestly my hopes today was that I'd leave feeling uplifted and refreshed and pain-free. This afternoon I left with residual pain and my neck was still sore, still cracking and in need of a good stretch. I totally understand 50 minutes isn't long enough to expect miracles and I wish I had had more time for a longer massage; but I only received a 40 minute massage today and I left with pain in my body and a bit stressed out because I had to go out of my way to prove that my credit card transaction successfully went through. I do not recommend this particular massage clinic because it didn't meet my expectations and the experience was completely rushed and mechanical. I thought my therapist Simone was friendly and knew her pressure points; but this spa is more like a clinic and you are rushed in and out. I definitely didn't receive the fifty minutes I paid for and for this reason I don't feel like repeating the experience here. Fifteen minutes of my time was wasted filling out their paperwork, chatting with the therapist and dressing and undressing and the actual massage itself was 40 minutes. Good communication and application of my preferences. I'd use him again. Space is simple and clean. Not a spa like space but was very quiet w soothing music. Alex was incredible! I came in with dull aches and pain from my neck through the back of my shoulder, and he worked out all my knots. Not only is the annoying pain gone, but I have so much more mobility. There was a technique he used through my armpit, which might be uncomfortable or invasive to others, but I swear it felt better than any massage I've ever had, and he kept asking about my comfort level throughout. After my session, I even asked if he could explain the technique and he was more than happy to. Just above and beyond service. I will say, there are definitely more relaxing massages in the traditional sense, but if you have true aches or want to recover some lost mobility, there's nowhere I recommend above RNMT! read more

Visited regularly when I was living in the area. Facilities are clean and professional check in. Online scheduling also a plus. If you get massages regularly, in my opinion it is worth getting the membership. My regular masseuse was Namiko. I like strong pressure massages and boy does she deliver. Every session was a little bit different and she would communicate where she felt the most tension and knots and focus on those areas. The reception area was very clean and it felt very nice. The massage itself? I wanted to like her, I really did. In fact, she was sweet and talkative. However, she had no strength and her pressure was very, very weak. I mentioned to her at the beginning I liked a lot of pressure. During the session, I mentioned it to her multiple times. Her response was "Oh that's good to know, I'm always scared to go hard on clients." Umm...you're a masseuse? Try as she might, she just couldn't get the pressure down. She used what felt like a bottle of oil and had to keep wiping it off with a towel so she "could get better grip." Definitely a novice.
