Laura immediately put me in a room. when Dr mark saw me he knew I needed more urgent care. he called an ambulance. but he was so kind & gentle with me. even though I was in agony, I appreciate that he knew his lane and that he shouldn't adjust or touch me. he took my vitals and let the EMT's do the rest. he easily could have let his ego get in the way. but he did not. he made the right call for me. because I wasn't in my right mind. During my case review he demonstrated that he has very deep knowledge and understanding of my disease, provided me with his realistic predictions of how he could help me, and explained in depth the various outcomes of my upcoming surgery. In my preoperative appointment he was compassionate, careful and clear, taking all the time I needed to review my case notes and help me understand my disease and the treatment that he had planned. Through his explanations, he spoke to me respectfully and was never condescending. He even took time out of his busy day to provide sight-seeing suggestions to my family so that they wouldn't sit restlessly in the waiting room during my long surgery. Before the surgery he was calm and reassuring to both me and my worried family members. I had a frozen shoulder ( which is quite painful!) that began a few months after I took a very hard fall. Dr Lou treated me with adjustments and acupuncture. Frozen shoulder takes 1-3 years to heal. I was moving my shoulder with much less pain and slowly increased range of motion within a couple of months! My sports medicine physician recommended the acupuncture for the pain. I'm here to say it works! I'm 8 months into my frozen shoulder diagnosis and I'm 99% better! Range of motion is back and the pain is minor at worst.
