If you get your mammogram here, be prepared to wait for it to be read in 7-10 days even with a maternal line of breast cancer in my family. Grandmother, mother, aunt. Beaumont was awesome. Corewell is understaffed and appears to care about revenue, not patient care. Beware! Go elsewhere!!

My recent visit to the ER at Troy Beaumont -Corewell with my sick child was deeply disappointing. The care provided was inadequate--after administering an enema, no follow-up X-ray was performed to confirm if it was successful. This oversight meant my son went over seven additional days without a bowel movement, leading to unnecessary trauma and further treatments elsewhere. The experience was made even worse by the hospital's lack of empathy and logistical failures. The ER parking lot was closed, forcing us to park several hundred yards away and walk with my sick child. When we finally made it inside, security stopped us because I was carrying a small flashlight and pocket knife. After walking back outside to hide them in a planter (so my son wouldn't have to walk all the way back to the car), the security guard still refused to let us in, insisting they had to be returned to the car. This lack of compassion and understanding from staff--both medical and security--made an already stressful situation unbearable. Hospitals are supposed to prioritize care and empathy, especially when dealing with sick children, but this was far from the case here. I cannot recommend Troy Beaumont -Corewell based on the subpar care, poor organization, and complete lack of sensitivity we experienced. COREWELL HEALTH DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR CARE. THEY CARE ABOUT YOUR MONEY.

You are in good hands, sorry I don't know of any Doctors to recommend, just stay away from UofM or St.Joe's they are awful. When I need help I drive from Ann Arbor to Royal Oak Beaumont! Best of luck.

We had questions and he had the answers. She definitely had top notch care in the ER. She was moved to ICU in the north building, and again she had top notch care with attentive and helpful nurses. The doctors that saw her were all very nice and explained what was going on and answered any questions we had. The north building is the newest addition to the hospital and the rooms are very nice. She then was discharged from ICU and moved to the ortho floor to await the insurance authorization for in patient therapy. The rooms are definitely older and not quite as nice. I didn't like that the couch and tray table felt sticky, probably from being cleaned so often. Her end of the bed was broken but it didn't affect anything as far as her care. She grew tired of the hospital food and at times some of it was cold. The food services department seemed to be well run and organized and everyone was pleasant and courteous. We liked that they came directly to the room on this particular floor to take her orders for lunch, dinner and breakfast. Housekeeping did a nice job of keeping her room clean. All in all, it was a decent stay for her. P.S. if you have the My Chart app on your phone, you receive the test results as soon as they're posted which is very helpful.

Considering he waited way too long to let anyone know he was ill, they moved quickly to try to save his life, which they could not do, not for lack of trying. He was only in for a little over a day, and told me he liked both his doctor and one of the male nurses that took care of him. He was upset about something shortly before he died, but from what I can understand both by talking to him and others, the planned care was to take care of him better and increase his odds of surviving, which, being bull headed he did not seem to understand. I would like to give the security team a zero score, and could not find a way to do that at this time. The stars are for the medical personal only. I was not authorized to collect his items as an oversight by the sibling that had extensive medical experience and stayed with him until he was stable. The security guard told me I could not collect his phone and wallet the day after he died, and that it would be sent with the funeral home, which it was not. When his son tried to collect them later in the week, the hospital said they lost them. I do not understand how that happened. I take it that they had them secured the day after he died, but lost them in a couple days. I think those items are personal identification and a shame that they were so carelessly accounted for. Perhaps they were thrown in the laundry, washed and ruined, or stolen, like he didn't matter. I believe there is possibly a chance he died with his phone in his hand because he called 911 shortly before he died. I know hospital policy is that they aren't responsible, but I do not know how a dead man can take care of his items. It doesn't matter to me that he could put his information on the cloud, he didn't, and there isn't a law he has to. He left in the ambulance with his phone in his hand and asked for his wallet for his id and insurance card, which the hospital requires. It's not like they do this stuff for free.

I can recall a nurse in the ER who said they were giving him a "pain cocktail". They were so worried he was a drug feen, they wouldn't really do anything for him, but give him something for his "headache". When we told them all the signs and symptoms, Doctor refused to run any scans, said they didn't see a cause for it. Left the ER wheeling him out in a wheel chair, I asked the nurse why is he not able to walk properly if he's stable enough to be discharged like the hospital claimed he was? Their response "oh he's fine, he'll be okay in a couple of hours". He wasn't okay in a couple of hours. He died from meningitis 3 days later. They had the audacity to ask for his organs after we decided to pull the plug. One thing I can say that was positive was all the staff in the ICU unit. This is the lowest of the low hospital you could ever go to. Take the drive, SAVE YOUR LIFE, and go somewhere else!!

For the most part they are on the patients side and will push the envelope to get things for the patients. Marlina, Lina and Lauren became my friends and I felt safe if they were working. As far as the hospital goes, I was less than impressed. Every basic need was stripped from me and I was treated as less than a dog. I was not even able to get water when I wanted it, because they kept closing B Lounge where the water was. The only lounge open was A which is a dark little room with no windows and few places to sit. My psychiatrist was rude and short. He also lied to me more than once. My social worker saw me a total of 15 minutes during my ENTIRE 8 day stay. The "groups" were mostly bull sessions or games. One tech even told me that when they find out they have a group to lead they "Google something quickly". Our "medication" group was a Pictionary game for two days in a row. The food, while it tasted good, was all carbs. The beds were horribly uncomfortable, I wasn't allowed to journal because patients can't have pens or pencils and when I had my daughter bring some crayons, one worker kept at me constantly about where they were, even waking me up at midnight yelling, "Where are your crayons?" A man named Raphael was the WORST. He told patients they are weak and if they had tried at all they would not be there. He threatened to send us to a long term facility if we didn't "get it together" and even stood next to one woman and said, "I shouldn't be standing here because she's probably been raped." in the middle of a group. He told us that our whole family was suffering because of us. He needs to be fired YESTERDAY. Just to put this into perspective, I took myself to Havenwyke, I was not admitted against my will. I was only one of 5% that did.

The doctors and nurses treat you like a criminal who is sick with diseases they do not want to be around. The judgement, humiliation, and loneliness I experienced here was more traumatic than the suicidal thoughts. I cried myself to sleep each night, begging to go home. I was admitted back in 2017. 9 years later, not in a million years I would EVER send my child to be treated here. I walked out of this facility more traumatized going in. A vivid memory I have is being separated from the group the first few days to "earn" a wristband that would allow me to eat at the cafeteria. We had to earn the right to eat lunch with others. Another memory I have is when I had a panic attack during a group activity, and the nurse took me to the hallway and told me to stop crying because I was about to be sent home and panic attacks might coercive the doctor to keep me longer. If you, your child, your family member or friend is having mental health issues, call a therapist with great reviews. Then, I suggest calling a psychiatrist to treat underlying issues medically.
