Fantastic newborn photos! I was impressed with the toy attachments Corinne had for her camera to keep my children more engaged in the process, it was rather genius. The photos she captured are stunning, the clean white background really allows the subject (baby/family/etc) to be front and center. She also had plenty of snacks to keep everyone fueled up. Corinne is definitely a baby whisperer because I needed to change my son's diaper when we arrived, which woke him up, and she was able to work her magic to get him back asleep. I absolutely love my family photographer Corinne McCombs Photography. My friends know my research tendencies... I looked at 30-40 bay area other photographers and reached out to maybe 15. She is a mom of 3 and was wonderful with my daughter Audrey who was SUPER CRANKY and pissed off that day since we woke her up from a nap. We showed up at her studio (recommended if your LO can't walk) and she provided all wardrobe and props for Audrey. I love our pictures and can only imagined what they would have looked like if Audrey actually smiled between meltdowns. She sent me a long detailed thoughtful writeup on what type of sessions we should do based on Audrey's age and how to maximize them. We plan on doing a Oct/Nov shoot with her for xmas cards outdoors as she shoots in a few locations. Then once Audrey can walk a longer outdoors session as she mentioned there isn't TOO much you can do with a child who can't walk with so much time. My criteria was: - Affordable - Someone who could take maternity, newborn, 1-2 yr olds, and family (I want someone who can grow with us as we expand our family). Many newborn photographers couldn't do toddlers and Corinne does great maternity too. - Would give me all the usable pictures and not just 10-20 pics. Corinne is an artistic genius with her camera. We have done four photoshoots with her this year (maternity, birth, newborn and 8 months) and every time the conditions have been extremely challenging (as they are with babies - and we have twins!). So every time we've worked with her I'm like "Oh man, I hope she got at least one good picture!" and every time she has gotten SO MANY amazing pictures that I don't even know what to do with all of them. For example, she came to the hospital to take pictures of my twins the day after they were born, and it was CHAOTIC to say the least. Then it turns out that we had an important doctor's appointment scheduled for literally 15 minutes after she arrived, so we had to get the pictures done really, really quickly. This didn't phase Corinne, she just started clicking away and we got dozens of amazing pictures that we were able to share with friends and family right away. You guys, Corinne is a baby whisperer! She has three kids of her own and is very confident in her ability to work with any kid, no matter how much crying, screaming, pooping they do. She somehow got both of my girls to look adorable in the same picture - that RARELY happens and she did it time and time again! We have had Corinne do three sessions for us over the past two years, and she is an amazing photographer. Two were in-studio sessions (1 year milestone for baby 1, holidays photos when we had our second kid a couple months ago), and one was an outdoor session (in portola valley with my parents in law). Before I found Corinne, I tried using a different photographer who was cheaper, and I realized after working with Corinne that there is a HUGE variation in quality of family photographers... and Corinne is the best. Corinne is so good with giving direction, helping us with various poses, coaxing our kids to smile, and then capturing everyone at the exact perfect moment. I've never been able to capture on my iPhone the smiles and joy she captures in their faces, and to me, that is priceless. She is ALSO really good with our goldendoodle Yoshi. Corinne is a lovely person and an amazing photographer! I booked her maternity + newborn package but we were unfortunately unable to do the maternity shoot because I ended up giving birth the day before! Nevertheless, she was so incredible to work with. We communicated back and forth via email for two months before the scheduled maternity shoot, discussing local venue options and even outfit choices! Corinne was always so kind, helpful and responsive. My emails were answered promptly, usually that same day. She was flexible and accommodating, too, allowing me to push back the maternity shoot when I was worried my belly wasn't quite round enough yet and again when the Napa fires made conditions unfavorable for an outdoor shoot. (Of course I wish I hadn't postponed our maternity shoot in hindsight, but that is neither here nor there!) When my baby came early, Corinne didn't hesitate to offer to come to the hospital for a Fresh 48 instead. Though we didn't take her up on that offer, it was so appreciated and just shows her compassion, dedication and willingness to make her clients happy. Due to the sudden and chaotic arrival of our first child (almost a month early), my husband and I ended up doing our newborn shoot later than most, at 5 weeks. Corinne spent a generous amount of time in our home to make sure she got the perfect photos and she was ultra patient, waiting out a feeding and (because she's a mom) was completely unfazed by crying, spit-up and poopy diapers. Even though our daughter wasn't a super sleepy newborn, Corinne was a pro and still managed to get those adorable sleepy newborn shots :) She really is the baby whisperer! What I love about Corinne's style of photography is that it is not overly posed with tons of props. Her photos feel natural and easy. They let the beauty and wonder of your baby shine through. She also captured great "lifestyle" family portraits in our nursery that we will cherish forever. Honestly, I tend to pick apart photos of myself and after Corinne left our home I felt instantly panicked that I would hate every image and that there wouldn't be a photo of myself with my daughter that I would like enough to share or hang on the wall. (Women, especially new mamas, can be so self critical!) All my fears were erased when she sent 10+ teaser photos THAT VERY NIGHT. I loved every one of them and cried happy tears. Not to mention, I was amazed at how quickly she edited that little sampler. We received the rest of our album exactly a week later and my husband and I were absolutely thrilled. I used our very favorite images (over 40!) to create printed albums for our families for Christmas and they were thrilled with the photos as well. I absolutely loved working with Corinne, and she took wonderful pictures of my daughter. Throughout my pregnancy, I had decided that I was not going to get professional newborn pictures. However, the minute she was born, I knew that I needed them! I found Corinne through a google search, and I am so glad that I did. Corinne was flexible in scheduling something with me at the last minute. She is a natural light photographer, and she came to our home, which was really important to me (the last thing I wanted to do in the first few weeks of my daughter's life was wake up early, get everyone dressed, and feel the pressure of arriving on time to a scheduled appointment). Instead of going to a studio, I still had wet hair and a towel on my head when she arrived at noon. And she was not at all fazed. She let me take my time getting ready while she scoped out our house and got set up. She happily included my mom and aunt in the photo shoot, both of whom were visiting from out of state, so we were able to get some great three generation pics in addition to our family photos. Corinne was so great with our baby, and, as a parent herself and an experienced baby photographer, she kindly shared some tips with us to help keep our baby calm and comfortable. Overall, our experience was completely relaxed (no rushing, no pressure about needing to start exactly on time), fun, and friendly. We ended up with great images of our baby and family. I'd been following Corinne on Instagram for several months when she opened her new studio. As soon as I saw pictures from the 6-8 month sitter sessions she had been doing in her studio, I knew I had to book a session for my 7 month old. And I am so glad I did!
