Overall, we had an enjoyable meal, but nothing truly stood out. The food was good, not great. We ordered the schnitzel, which was perfectly serviceable, but not particularly memorable or elevated in a way that justified the buzz surrounding the restaurant. It felt more like a solid neighborhood meal than a destination dining experience.
The service was where the experience fell a bit flat for us. This isn't unique to this restaurant, but we've found much of Scandinavia's dining culture to be less hospitality-driven than what we're accustomed to elsewhere. The staff was polite enough, but there wasn't much warmth, engagement, or effort to create a memorable experience. It felt more transactional--food arrives, you're checked on occasionally, and that's about it.
The atmosphere is pleasant, and we certainly didn't leave disappointed. We enjoyed our evening and had a nice meal. That said, given the history of the space and the reputation that comes with it, we left feeling that the experience didn't quite live up to the expectations.
Worth a visit if you're curious about the location, but not a place I'd go out of my way to revisit.
