I will never use Cormier movers again. The owner gave me an estimate (my fault for not insisting he come over and look at what I was moving -but I did tell him the number of bins I had) and he charged me more than double what his estimate was. He had only 3 guys to move my things, one had difficulties walking. But it gets worse. I was unable to go to with them to the storage unit, and when I finally got there 3 days later, there were open bins clothes on the floor a broken vase and my desk had scratches all over the top. My friend John hired them to move from Swampscott, MA to Berwick, ME. The three guys that showed up with the truck were all very professional. Nothing got damaged, and they took care to lay furniture pads all over the floors to ensure no mess was left behind. They worked very hard and did not waste any time. They asked John where he would like things put when they came off the truck. All of them are very friendly, courteous and professional. I can't say anything about cost because John is the one that hired them, but what I do know is that I was there for a few of John's conversations with Ken on the phone and that he was very pleased with their service. read more

Hired these absolute SCUMBAGS to move from my old house in York to my new one across town, NEVER going to make that mistake again. I repair iPhones as a side job, and I had two that were fully repaired and ready to sell, so before I moved I put them in a closed box along with my tools and repair equipment and placed that box inside a cardboard moving box. I made sure it didn't look like there was anything valuable inside and that it was very discreet as to not have any problems during moving. Upon receiving my belongings at my new house, I found the box that was containing my iPhones, and what do you know, the box was open, the two phones were gone, and the relatively inexpensive tools had been left inside. I called them and spoke to the owner, who said he knew nothing about it but would talk to the guys that moved my stuff. I can almost guarantee that he didn't say a word to them, but even if he did, would they admit to it? Obviously not. In total the two phones were worth about $750, and Cormier would not cover any of my loss. DO NOT hire these scumbags, I guarantee you will regret it. read more

We had the very best experience with Cormier Movers recently, they moved a safe for us and also some other items that a mover I had hired couldn't move! We were stuck, had sold our house and our movers let us down at the very last minute after quoting that they could move all our items. We passed papers the next day and the safe was still in the house! The buyer was also definitely not happy that our movers had left us in the lurch as they took possession of a house with a safe that they did not want. I called Cormier and truly can't say enough good, the owner Ken was personable and knowledgeable and made me feel at ease about the project, because at the point I was definitely uneasy! Ken and his men did the move quickly--they were professional, took great care with our items including the safe, and finished the move that the other movers couldn't. We even drove a couple hours to have a chair repaired, but only charged him for the repair. He never contacted us to resolve this situation. Where do I start. We moved with Cormier Movers and put our furniture/ packed items in their "Climate Controlled Storage". When delivered, items were damaged including chewed sofa cushions, a large hole in desk drawer, dents and scratches, and broken glass/frames on artwork. Some items were missing and never delivered, animals were living in our furniture/packed items while in storage (by the debris left it was mice and chipmunks), and a pile of items delivered were not ours (chairs, exercise equipment, dirty towels and bags of junk) and some of it had been mixed in some of our packed boxes?!? The quoted price was not near the actually price. We were disappointed on all areas and will not use this company again. read more

We moved twice with them within a few months. First out of our home into storage, and second out of storage long distance to PA. Talk about two completely different experiences. Out of our home and into storage was very good. They guys worked hard, were mostly professional (for movers) and I genuinely had no complaints. The final price was right inline with what we were quoted and they packed our storage units well so we only needed two and not three as we first feared. From here on is where the move went terribly bad. We got estimates for a long distance move from NH to PA from a couple companies. Their price was the best price of all and we were happy to give local business our support and money, especially since they had done such a fantastic job two months prior. Well, although we didn't have much damage to speak of, the paid price per mile changed from what we were quoted and communication was virtually non existent as far as when our stuff was supposed to show up. The truck "broke down", the guys got stuck in traffic, the guys got lost, excuse after excuse. Mind you, we had to call to get these answers because no one called us to let us know. The first truck was a day late. Everything was supposed to be on one truck, but that didn't happen. Scheduling that second truck was also nearly impossible and we didn't see the rest of our stuff for a couple weeks. But it was "just the garage stuff" according to them. Yeah right. Ken, the owner, is a joke of a business man. I would not in anyway recommend this company because of him. His communication is extremely poor. If he picked up the phone and called us during any one of these "issues" it would have been a different story, but after everything we put up with, I hope no one else makes the same mistake we did. Cormier Movers: The shoddiest company I have ever dealt with in my 70+years. My move was from NH to Michigan. I am a veteran and have moved many times. There is so much wrong, but I will try to start at the beginning. The first "professional" incident was that the movers had not remembered to bring a marker to mark each box. I had to provide a sharpie (which was never returned). Secondly, the movers were unaware that my vehicle was supposed to be shipped. They drove it to where it was going to be stored and ran the NH toll without paying. I was later notified by NH ez pass that that had occurred. When my furniture finally arrived at the storage facility, Cormier had given my belongings to a company from Detroit. My TV was not boxed even tho part of my charge was for a TV moving box. My guitar likewise was not boxed, but hand carried out of the moving truck. My car which was supposed to be shipped by Cormier's "own vehicle carrier" was driven down a ramp of the Detroit mover's truck. Many items were missing: a brand new vacuum, glasses, spices, a model sailing ship, a "snow brum", and other belongings. After 3 unreturned calls to Ken Cormier, I contacted the Better Business Bureau, and they contacted Cormier. He called me and offered contrived excuses and no excuse for running the toll. My new vacuum was located in their warehouse but they "didn't know who it belonged to". They are professional movers!!!! I soon tired of the nonsense and when I was asked how to settle this, I requested simply 20 dollars to toast the end of this. Ken Cormier suggested 50 dollars and I accepted. It's been 2 weeks later and according to Cormier Movers "the check's in the mail". Yeah. I guess the bottom line of Cormier Movers is charge competitive prices, provide shoddy service at best, and laugh about it afterward. read more

CORMIER MOVERS IS NOT THE COMPANY YOU WANT MOVING YOUR PIANO!!!! I used Cormier Movers to move a piano in Sept 2010 and they dropped the piano and damaged it and then have offered a 'tolken' amount to cover the damages and then denied they did the damage and won't submit a claim. I would not recommend them for piano moves. It's been two years and nothing got settled, the piano remains damaged, and they did not put an insurance claim in. I also found them to be unprofessional and they screen their calls. good luck, really, don't use them. We used Cormier movers back in September and had a great experience with them. I was a little concerned after reading reviews on yelp but had already met with Ken and felt comfortable with him so I was hoping for the best. We were only moving around the corner literally 7 houses away but because of the closing date we needed to have the stuff out of our existing house the day before. We had to have our stuff packed up on Saturday and not delivered until Monday. We had two different crews one that packed us and one that unpacked and they were both very careful with our stuff, very courteous to us and very accommodating. They wrapped everything and and took great care and concern for our items. When they unpacked they carefully placed items where we wanted them. They also helped carry in boxes from the garage as they had extra time since the move was so close. I would definitely recommend Cormier Movers in the future. We have moved many times due to our jobs. DO NOT USE this mover. He will act very honorable in person. But WATCH OUT! He will commit to moving your things, but on the day of the move he will not allow you to move items, and hold you hostage by telling you that the move will cost more money! He charged us another $2000 over his original bid on the day of the move - this is after we sold furniture we committed to not include in the move! When our things arrived, everything was packed haphazardly. When we reported that our things get damaged he denied all culpability and took months to give us the proper forms to fill out. My wife and I have moved twice internationally within the last 10 years. In our prior moves the movers were professional, our things were moved with care, and the final price for the moves was very similar to what was quoted. In August we move within NH (about 14 miles) with Cormier Movers and were very disappointed on all accounts. We ended up with thousands of dollars of damage to our things (including some sentimental items), and damage to the home we moved out of and the new home we moved into. Cormier also lost our silverware, a few cutco knives, and other kitchen items. Cormier suggested they would only compensate us for a small fraction of the value of the damaged and lost items (base on the weight rather than the value). In addition, Cormier charged us nearly double what they quoted for the move. The owner of the company did a thorough walk-through of our three bedroom home and provided a quote for $2,475 for packing, moving, and unpacking our home. However, the final price charged was $4,208, approximately 70% above the quote. The crew was very unprofessional, unproductive, and did not appear to be experienced. The lead mover in charge of the crew was lazy and provided his inexperienced crew no direction. They were supposed to have everything packed and loaded into the truck by mid-day, and have us unpacked by the afternoon. When I saw very little was getting done and the crew was moving painfully slow or just standing around I started directing them- assigning different members of the crew to different tasks (packing boxes, moving things from certain rooms, loading the truck with things ready to go, etc). I asked one of the guys to move all the boxes out of the basement and forgot he was in there. Two hours later I remember I hadn't seen him and went back down to the basement to find him still there. When things were finally unpacked from the truck I only later realized many pieces of furniture were either not re-assembled at all, or were only partially assembled. We're appalled with how poorly this move was executed. We spent much more than quoted, are out thousands of dollars in damages, and will not using this company in the future. read more

Overpriced, unprofessional and unresponsive. Needless to say steer clear of this company. My parents who are in their 80's hired this company. At least 10 days prior to their move to an assisted living situation, I contacted them on 4 separate occasions to go over their move details and had no response. At this point as my parents are elderly and were anxious about their move and as I had had no response from them I contacted them to let them know they we were canceling move and had had to hire another company, who, by the way, gave us a quote of $500 less than their quote of $2000 ( To move the contents of a 2 bedroom apt from Hampton, NH to Marlboro, Mass- approx 80 miles) When I wrote to the BBB regarding their lack of service it seems they had "amnesia" regarding all my previous correspondence with them. My only request to them was to return my parent's $500 deposit as they provided no service. Under the circumstances, I feel that they took advantage of elderly people, firstly by overcharging them and secondly by not responding to any of my calls and emails on their behalf. read more

Poor service/customer service. Gave us signed estimate about three - four weeks before move. Day of, arrived late, informed us they were not told of move until last minute. After taking some of our furniture, told us they could not move our entire belongings due to only having half a truck free. We were okay with this - then told us they only had a limited amount of time to move us - we were also okay with this. Brought our furniture back to our apartment and told us they had to complete a previous job, would come back later that evening and complete our move - we were very happy with this. Later received a call from owner informing us that our move would not be completed till the following day - we were NOT happy about this. After complaining, he offered a whole $25 refund. I said "okay." Wrote an email about our dissatisfaction and then got a call back from owner informing us they would not complete our move. They left us hanging to find movers on a Sunday - when we had to be out of our apartment by Friday w/ no time off of work. This was our 4th move in 4 years, always completed moves on own - first time ever had to hire someone (due to being pregnant). Very unhappy & would not recommend!!! read more

Well when the move time came, they only needed to move 2 bikes but had no room on truck so charged me more ($700) to move them.. We had a horrid experience with this company - STAY AWAY! They sold us insurance and then denied they did , they damaged our goods and we had missing items and they refused to pay our claim. We went to BBB and they did not even get a bad mark for their practices so beware of BBB reviews. We even offered to go half on the claim to be done with it and they still refused to pay our claim. They claim to be expert piano movers and they damaged my baby grand and refused to pay anything. They will not talk with you but rather yell and act unprofessionally. If you value your goods do not hire these people They also charged us more than we were quoted and on the dy of the move added another charge after our goods were on the truck. I can only say that they talk a good game but do not care about your goods . Their word is NO GOOD. They are untrustworthy, unprofessional and unreasonable to work with. It was a local move from a 3rd floor apartment to a 3 story townhouse. The guys showed up on time. They were professional and very nice and they worked super hard. Got the total move completed in less time than anticipated. They managed to fit everything in the truck and not even a scratch on anything. They did a terrible job.. They lost a lot of our furniture and wouldn't give any thing back without us paying them a lot of money. They still have our furniture won't make any attempt to find it. The other furniture was damaged. Huge cracks and gouges in the furniture. It was thrown in the truck to be delivered. They had a bunch of kids delivering he paid cash. Totally unprofessional. The worst was I bought extra insurance to cover this kind of problem and he won't return my calls or help me. He said they will up his rates.! Ken Cormier is not a professional mover. We recently hired Cormier Movers for our move. They were the 3rd company we talked to and we ended up hiring them because 1) they were willing to move our flat screen TV's without charging us for fancy (expensive) boxes (it was a local move), and 2) Ken (owner) came up with a plan to move (on a different day) about 8 cords of firewood using 2 moving vans, and a tractor with plow using a flatbed truck. That solved a huge problem for us -- neither of the other movers would help with the wood or tractor. The other HUGE bonus was that about a week before the move the company dropped off a ton of moving boxes they had collected from other customers they had moved, along with 6-8 jumbo sized garbage bags of recycled packing paper, all free. We saved so much money not having to buy additional boxes, plus the convenience of having the boxes and paper delivered was a godsend. Then, they picked up the boxes and paper at the end of the move. What a great service. The only reason I gave them 4 stars and not 5 was that the cost of moving the cord wood (amount of time it took) was quite a bit higher than the initial estimate (although the cost of the household move came in a bit under the estimate). But based on the entire experience I would use them again. read more

STAY AWAY FROM CORMIER MOVERS!!! We moved from NH to a retirement community in FL last November and chose Cormier because Ken represented his company as specializing in moving elderly people to Florida. The contract he gave us to sign was poor to read and he never explained the clause about moving valuables. I definitely would have signed had it been explained; additional insurance was purchased for $200.00. We had our items packed by the movers but unpacked ourselves in FL. Packers removed several jewelry boxes I had packed tightly in a heavy box and repacked in one of their own cartons, purposely labeling it " MBR Bath Apt Undersink & misc". When I opened the box, 2 gold necklaces and one gold bracelet had been removed by Cormier's packers. Many items were broken including clocks, table and the jewelry box that contained my stolen jewels. Many items were left behind in NH by packers, including a wheelchair, table umbrella stand, clock, etc. On top of all this, Ken Cormier agreed to pay a separate check for our 58" Panasonic 3-D TV, wall mount, Blue Ray, 3-D glasses X4, which never materialized. Also missing was a Panasonic Lumix digital camera. I called Mr Cormier immediately after realizing my jewelry had been stolen; he sounded very sympathetic but did nothing. I submitted a claim but, of course, Cormier stated jewelry boxes were not reported on the list of articles so as far as he was concerned, he did not move them. His packers did their job with the "misc" labeling, thereby allowing them to pilfer and Ken Cormier off the hook. I sent letters to the NH BBB, FMCSA, and NH Consumer Protection and Antitrust Bureau, finally paying $350.00 submitting to arbitration. After sending my documents and pictures, I recently received a letter denying all my claims (valued over $10,000) because "Carrier was unaware of any jewelry being placed into its custody for transit" (jewelry conveniently repacked in the "misc" box).
