I ordered the Salmon tonight, a dish I have ordered 3 times before... and I have never received something of this portion. I absolutely hate complaining about service due to the fact that I already deal with it when I am on the clock serving. I go out of my way to always avoid asking to have things be remade/sent back, because it really is the most annoying thing a customer can do. The only reason I asked about the size of this salmon was because I thought maybe I didn't specify I wanted a larger portion. I wasn't asked if I wanted the 6oz or 8oz so I figured maybe I didn't clarify. I wanted to make sure that If I did infact get the smaller size it was my fault so then I would accept that it and I would be happy with what I ordered. The server was completely fine, she wasn't a problem. However when I asked her this question, she immediately had the manager come over.... And that's when the "incident" happened. I feel so stupid for even complaining about this, but the female manager on duty was sooooooooooooo condescending and extremely dismissive. The conversation lasted under a minute and I hardly got to say anything because she didn't take a breath to let me speak. She made it very clear that "this is the cut that they always use" and "this is how it was delivered to us" mind you the lady next to our table had salmon and it was infact a different cut (I am not claiming it was bigger, I am just addressing the fact that it was infact not the same size as mine) she then thought it was acceptable to tell me that the "water weight might have cooked out when it was grilled" ... ohhhh is that so !? Perfect I literally never thought of that, I'm glad my salmon is on Ozempic and chose to ditch the "water weight" thanks for the explanation!! After these explanations she could tell I was upset with the way she spoke to me and then offered, "I can go ahead and remake it for you if you would like?" And then hit me with, "i want to make sure you'll be happy with your food" in the most condescending tone god has ever manufactured on planet earth. I didn't feel like this was an actually option I could accept because moments before she made it very clear it would come out the SAME EXACT SIZE!!!! so I said no thank you, and she practically skipped away from our table. This whole interaction was stupid and I'm so over it. I don't know her name, I don't care to know her name... but what I do wanna do is let her know I hate her haha. Yeah girl if ur reading this, you suck and ur miserable. Thanks for being an asshole to someone who was genuinely already uncomfortable clarifying I ordered the right/wrong thing. Again to reiterate the service was fine, our server was fine. I felt bad for the whole interaction for myself and for my server, no one likes an upset table. The clientele is skews a little older, but a few younger people pop in from time to time. Draft beer is served in mugs -- some with high school logos on them. We were greeted by an extremely intoxicated mechanic who couldn't even say his own name when introducing himself and found setting a book of matches on the bar to be a rather challenging task. River Bend -- a village incporporated several years ago by residents who wanted to stay free of the encroaching restrictions of (ironically) Liberty and Independence -- has no smoking ordinance.
