Worst bar. Horrible staff. Highly unimpressed. The waitresses were rude and continually messed up orders.

Wednesday nights are trivia nights. Friday nights are karaoke contests. Come early, stay late, or maybe make your visit somewhere in between. We joined in their Pop Culture Trivia night and it was a sort or mashup of bingo and trivia. For instance, a short trailer of a movie, and if you recognized it on your board, you mark it off. The topics were all over the place, with one being Catherine O'Hara films (RIP), together with modern slow folk music, and mockumentaries. OK! Could be cool to have a round of just 90's hits, or 80's movies, etc. If you're one of the very select few to win, you take home... an old VHS tape. Funny, but I would probably "accidentally forget" mine on the bar table had I won. It would be kinda fun if they threw in a free drink or something to make it worth it. The final prize was a few comp tickets to Screenland Armour upstairs, which they are connected to. The hosts were both friendly, and the vibes of the place are good. Overall just a fun, throwback place where you don't have to shout over anyone to talk. Highly recommend!

On our evening out, the ambiance won the day. Dining on a terrace, with a view, wins every time. We…read morewere dining late so our service was rushed, but the waiter took time to guide our selections. No staters, other than cocktails. The MAI TAI, ENVY OF ALL & the white SANGRIA were all tasty, but at $18 a piece, they should have been spectacular. Taste/presentation did NOT warrant the price tag. We are always delighted to see a WEDGE SALAD on the menu & it was just what you expect in a wedge, which never disappoints, but croutons were unnecessary. Unusual the house dressing was a peppercorn ranch for an Italian restaurant, which was heavy for the MIXED GREENS salad. The CAESER was a winner for my 16 year old son. My 91 year old mother, enjoy the CHEF SOUP, which was turkey & rice... this is high praise for one who always has soup and typically finds fault. The CHICKEN PICCATA was meh. I know this is a safe dish for people to order, but this version had no zest, choose something else. The CHICKEN CARBONARA was served with the egg yolk in the center so you stir it into the hot pasta to cook it. My son loved this presentation, made it fun and most importantly DELICIOUS. Our BEST dish was the BRAISED BONELESS SHORT RIB! When we return to KCMO, we'll definitely reorder this dish and sample some of the others. For dessert we shared the COCONUT BANANA CRÈME PIE... too bad it had whipped cream and not baked merengue.

Odd. We appreciated the heads up however, I feel like they were really wanting us to turn around and leave as the restaurant seemed overwhelmed. We stayed as it was too late in day to go elsewhere. The kitchen was indeed backed up, no silverware provided had to ask, and our server said to order right away if we wanted to get our food. They were out of some items. Took 45 minutes for food to arrive. However, the staff was apologetic, even though it took awhile to be served the meal itself was acceptable --the pork chop, surf and turf, braised meat, and pizza were all hits. Server had to confirm with kitchen if they were still serving dessert, we were able to order. The desserts consisted of banana coconut pie which basically pudding & bananas in a bowl, tiramisu, and Keylime, all were just okay not worth $. The patio is beautiful and perfect for a nice day. It is very expensive, so we'll save it for special personal occasions not a national holiday/special day, but the food quality makes it worth a return visit.
