Pancake w/ Eggs and sausage. Had to take some of it home.

Happened on this place when I was in Johnstown. Missed breakfast and didn't want fast food. All I can say is Outstanding! I ordered 2 pancakes with 2 eggs and sausage links. The pancakes were possibly the best I have ever had. The almost didn't need any syrup. The eggs were done perfectly and the sausage was delicious. Coffee was good too. Everyone was very pleasant. Definitely a little gem. Like an old fashioned diner. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town.

This is a diner hidden in plain sight. They present themselves as a coffee shop and if you drive by the strip mall this resides in, it comes off exactly like that. However, when hiding in plain sight, you can be whatever you want to be on the inside. Like I said, from the outside you get the feel that it's going to be run of the mill eatery. Once you get inside you see the true identity of this place. You get hit with the diner vibe as soon as you walk in. Bright red colors paired with the shiny chrome like warmth that evokes diner. Totally bustling, happy eaters, helpful staff. Came here with my nephew for a breakfast treat. I kind of already knew what I wanted, but of course I was obliged to look over the menu. They definitely have everything covered for breakfast. Just for breakfast along they have an extensive selection and you sure can mix it up here. To note, as I am defining this as a diner, they have a really great diner menu overall. Covering everything from sandwiches to the typical diner meatloaf meal, and I might say just about everything in between, and that is on top of the extensive breakfast selection. I went with the Sausage Gravy Over Biscuit, which I already had in my head to have. For my nephew he went with the one Hotcake with Sausage. Service was swift, it did not take too long for us to get our food after we ordered. The hotcake was a decent size and almost covered the plate by itself. Comes with butter and syrup to top as you wish. The sausage patty looked decent as well. As for my food, it hit me, and it hit me good. When the plate was presented it looked a bit messy, but I was fine with that. I wanted the mess, that gravy looked mighty good and even though it was about to drip over the side of the plate I did not care. The biscuit was perfect. That consistency where it was partially dry that allowed for the gravy to give it that right moisture and made me gobble it up. The gravy, my god, that gravy was amazing. Most places you go to and order this you get this little bits of sausage mixed throughout the gravy. But here, you get those little pieces, but you also get big chunky sized pieces as well. That made this feel more like a meal than anything else I had had for breakfast in a while. Y'all, I cleaned that plate, there was nothing left. The price for this early morning meal was ideal. For what you pay at other places for a sandwich and drink you leave satisfied here. Definitely on my short list in the area for breakfast moving forward.

While visiting the Johnstown area, my husband and I were looking for a breakfast location. I found out about this hidden GEM on Yelp! Its located in the strip mall that used to house Value City (many years ago!). Once inside I really liked the diner vibe decor! The waitress was very personable and the food was great! There are a lot of locals that meet her for breakfast. My husband was so excited to get scrapple! We don't see that down south really. :). I was happy they had sweet tea! I would love to try lunch or dinner there the next time we come to town! Note: I really liked the paper place mat advertising local businesses. Great way to support the local community!

Yummy breakfast! Super busy on Saturday afternoon. Solid choice for breakfast. I got the big breakfast, upgraded to chocolate chip pancakes, and it included two eggs sausage or bacon toast and potato choice.

I then asked to speak to the owner and very aggressively she responded, "I'm the F******* owner". I caused no harm and the incompetent bouncers then locked me outside. I sustained injury to my hand and leg. The bouncers didn't even check to see if I was ok. Police and an ambulance were called. I will be pressing charges against this horrible and disgusting person/employee. She's a huge liability. This isn't the first time that she's been violent at her place of employment. I would be embarrassed to have her working for me. She is trash!! *** Also, This establishment keeps taking down this review. I will continue to get what happened to me out in the public!! **** The owner's reply "Always remember there are 2 sides to every story. First calling Someone a name to start out your comment is not a good look. "Ugly Jackie"? We have 64 cameras on property. This was all caught on numerous cameras. You were asked to leave Multiple times in a few minute timeframe, You then proceeded in flipping the middle finger to Jackie the bar-tender. She then came around from the back of the bar to help escort you off premises. When you got to the doorway a CUSTOMER. I repeat a CUSTOMER. pushed you out the door where you hit your leg and fell to the ground. The officers came and got the footage and I'm sure you will be notified of this. Again, A CUSTOMER, A MALE CUSTOMER, not a security guard, or any employee, then proceeded in Grabbing you and pushed you out the door. You hit the side of the door. You are correct, the Security Guard did then stop you and your friend from re-en-tering the building. Due to the scene you two created inside. You then called police and received an ambulance. In today's day and age cameras do not lie. Sometimes people do. I was not present, But once again. Watched the surveillance with the police today and this is what was seen by all. We were told to give you a notice to stay off the property. So here is your notice. Do not come back to Woodside Bar and Grill" *** It's amazing how false the owner's entire response is. I talked to the police and what he saying is indeed incorrect and actually, your manager was the one to release the footage to Stoneycreek Police. You were not involved. The owner, Robert, is trying to cover himself and his crappy violent establishment. Thank you for not welcoming me back because I wouldn't come back even if you paid me. I want nothing to do with people who support violence in this community and lying. I mean this sincerely, I hope one day that this places closes.

Made arrangements with Balance owner and staff to stay "open" for our team. We pre-ordered our entrees and apps so when we arrived our food orders were already underway. Had drink orders taken and within minutes our drinks and appetizers were served. We had the place to ourselves with a wonderful waiter, Trenton, his assistant, a bartender, chef Dallas and his wife who owns the establishment but I cannot remember her name. First and foremost, the menu is awesome, diverse, unique and wide ranging. Prices are very reasonable and portions very good. The really reason to return is the taste. 12 guys had 6 or 7 different dishes and everyone raved at how good their choice was. Drinks were excellent and complimentary dessert samplings were awesome. The service was excellent, we were treated like special. My hats off to them for wanting to stay "open"; the restaurant closed to the public at 9:30 and serve us. Granted, it was a pretty good bill but I had called another restaurant in the area explaining our situation and they turned us down. I believe our proprietor asked her staff if they wanted to oblige us and she told me that their reply was something along the lines of "we're going to be here anyway cleaning up, why not make some money." Please, if you're in town or even close, give Balance a try, I guarantee you will be glad you did. When I found them online I was jazzed about the menu. They have a lot of unique options which I'm a huge fan of. It's always easy to find basic menus, so to find something fun that also offered a kids menu (meaning, cool... I don't need to worry about taking my humans even though they'll be ordering off the regular menu) was promising. The space itself is funky in a good way and spacious. It spans a few different rooms which all have their own vibe, and we saw igloos outside! I'd say our food had a 60/40 success rate. The hummus was seriously awesome, as was the risotto. My protein power bowl was so tasty with a great dressing and I absolutely love that they have creative vegetarian options. Our server was so kind, but I'm not quite sure where they were for most of our visit. Again... maybe an off night. We'd try it again. If you're someone who needs a changing table, they have one!

I'm glad I finally did to check this place of my to try list. From the outside, it looks like a typical hole-in-the-wall bar in the Johnstown area. I had no idea where parking was because every time I drove past here I would be doing it at a pace I couldn't see. I was happy to see that there was ample parking behind the street facing building. Entry from the parking lot takes you up stairs or a zig-zagging ramp that looks fairly new. This area is also connected to an outdoor seating area, can't really call it a patio. Or, you can enter from outside and take the stairs up into dining room. This is a seat yourself establishment. Once you are seated, you are greeted and given menus. What an extensive menu it is. The amount of items on the menu, if you haven't been here before, can be daunting. It took me a few minutes to just give it a once over. When the server came back around to take our drink order she asked if we needed a few more minutes, yes, we did. When she returned I was ready to go. I ordered the Pickle Chips as my appetizer and the Howler as my main. The Pickle Chips were served with a side of ranch for dipping and they were amazing. Perfectly coated, not too much and not too little. Dipping in the ranch cooled them down just enough to be enjoyable. Now, the Howler, is kind of an experience. The Howler is one of their signature burgers. Half-pound patty cooked to your liking. The set toppings on this burger is bacon, choice of cheese (American Cheddar, Swiss, Provolone, or Pepper Jack), meat sauce, and a fried egg. You also can choose to add lettuce tomato onion and pickle. For mine, I went American for the cheese, lettuce, onion and pickle. There really wasn't any need for condiments as there was already so much on the burger to give it flavor. It almost comes off as either a breakfast burger or a chili cheese burger. Although I did as for medium, they overcooked it a bit. What was a nice addition here was the side. You can go with the traditional fries or go for one of many that don't seem to have an upcharge to it. Tater tots, slaw, applesauce, or nachos and one item for an upcharge, onion rings. I went with tater tots. Overall, this was an enjoyable meal. Our service was impeccable. Atmosphere was lively.
