Well as the name says- it's on the corner (of a small strip mall). We went for dinner on a Tuesday and the place was packed. There was a 20 minute wait- but definitely worth it. They have a rather extensive menu. So it is hard to choose what to try. we ordered four dishes and shared them. A great way to try different items. The pork soup dumplings were my favorite - however everything I tried was delicious and packed with flavor. A nice touch is they have a large window where you can see the dumplings being made. My experience at Corner House Dumpling has been good for the most part. It really varies based on your server. It's not as consistent as I would like, but their dumplings are spot on. I always order pork and crab xlb, truffle pork, and regular pork xlb. I tried the garlic cucumbers before, I would pass on it. The veggie dumplings were okay... The chicken pot stickers were not as flavorful as the soup dumplings. The crab and pork are my favorite then the truffle pork. They come to the table piping hot. The server brought me over ginger on one of my visits and it complements it well... but this was only once. Another time, a server brought me a dipping cup for sauce, it was nice but also a thing that occured once so far. It's thoughtful either way. I want to try more of the main dishes. I will always be back for soup dumplings. Also the wait times are a way to weed people out I think, I have never waited the full estimated time- it's an overestimation usually to prevent customers from getting upset when they have to wait longer... but I could see it back firing if a customer goes a bit further away from the restaurant anticipating a certain time to be back. read more

Holy flavor I was coming in after waiting an hour and had high expectations and boy did they achieve them!! This place totally rocks. This was our first visit to Corner Dumpling House. It's a bit of a drive, but I'm pretty sure this won't be our last visit. We arrived around 11:15. The restaurant was not super busy. We left around 1:30 and the restaurant was pretty full. It's popular and I know why. First, our server. Jennie was fantastic. She helped us with the menu, making sure we knew what the favorites were. This assistance was fantastic because there were about a gazillion options on the menu. We shared some Scallion Pancakes, which were quite tasty. Then the dumplings started to arrive. Here is where Corner Dumpling House lost their fifth star. Three bamboo boxes and one dish of dumplings were dropped off at the table. The gentleman who dropped them off didn't explain what anything was. As a result, we ate each other's food for a minute before we figured it all out. It didn't help that one serving of dumplings came out much later. We tried our best to identify which ones were what ended up being the missing dumplings. It would have gone a long way to have someone taken a minute to help us understand what was what. All that said, the food was outstanding. The Pork Wontons in Chili Oil were a standout and the Steamed Pork and Shrimp Soup Dumplings were also fantastic. The Triple Delight was just okay, but given how delicious the dumplings were, I couldn't subtract an another star for the mediocre Triple Delight. The restaurant is quite beautiful, which was a huge surprise given the restaurant is in a strip mall. Overall, our dining experience was relaxed and wonderful. Dumplings are in their name and dumplings are in fact their game! I was in town and grabbing dinner with a friend. They suggested this place and I was down after checking out their Yelp page. I arrived around 5:15 on a Wednesday night and this place was already overflowing with customers. I couldn't believe it! I made my way through to the hostess and to my surprise they were able to seat us right away. We weaved our way to a back corner of the restaurant and started combing through the menu. We each ordered an iced matcha (peach and strawberry) and decided to share a number of different dishes... the shrimp shumai, the black truffle pork soup dumplings, the steamed vegetable dumplings, and the drunken noodles with shrimp. It was the perfect amount of food for the two of us. As a pescatarian I skipped on the black truffle pork dumplings but I tried everything else. The vegetable dumplings were by far my favorite. So flavorful and they looked like green leaves the way they were made. The restaurant itself is lovely with beautiful murals and artwork on the walls. It definitely didn't feel like we were in Cincinnati. They also have a big window where you can see their chefs making all of the dumplings by hand. Very cool. Living in Central Kentucky means we're just a short drive from several bigger cities, and most of them have a zoo. So, the Fat Man and his wife headed north to the Cincinnati Zoo--with one more stop in mind: some Asian food. After hearing about Corner Dumpling House all over social media, we had to give it a try. They serve authentic handmade dumplings, flavorful Sichuan dishes, and a menu packed with plenty of options. The first item brought out to us was Mao's Braised Pork Belly. The sauce has a little sweetness at the beginning, but finishes as a heavy soy glaze. Some pieces were tender and melted like butter, while most were fattier and tougher, requiring a longer chew. This unfortunately overwhelmed most of the dish. The tableside chili oil added some nice heat to the dish. The thick-cut potatoes offered a nice texture change-up, were tender-cooked, and were really good in the sauce. The green and red peppers were thickly chopped, adding freshness to each bite and helping cut through the pork's chewiness. Next up were the Steamed Pork Buns. The buns were slightly sticky, sweet, and airy, with a nice amount of dough and a good chew. The pork on the inside was super tender with great flavor, both salt and a hint of spices. It also had a bit of sauce inside the bun, which added to the flavors and texture. Everything together made for a good bite. The addition of the chili oil again amplified this dish. Last, we tried the Steamed Pork Soup Dumplings. The dumplings were steamed perfectly, with good chew and texture. The soup inside was buttery, with sweetness and a texture that coated the tongue in each bite. The pork inside was cooked well, tender, and flavorful, with a nice saltiness. The tableside dumpling sauce added a nice sweetness and tanginess to this dish. There was, however, an oily texture in each bite that took away from the dish; it left a weird aftertaste. Corner Dumpling House offers a large menu featuring cold appetizers, soups, Sichuan dishes, dim sum, noodles, and fried rice. I expected to love this place more than I did after reading all the stellar reviews and hearing that people wait for 2+ hours for a table. We had skipped lunch, so arrived at 4pm to try to avoid the Friday night crowd. They weren't busy at all and in fact, sat my husband and I at a 6 top which was kind of odd since there were 2 tops available, but not being crowded in was nice. The decor is cute-I especially like the big dumpling statue in the entry. The server was very friendly and brought us drinks immediately. I absolutely cannot say enough great things about this place! It truly is one my top five places to eat in the area, and I will recommend it to everyone! We got a few small (but not really small!) plates to share as well as some dumplings! They were out of some things, but our server Jenny gave us some recommendation and I'm glad she did! The green beans were literally my favorite! You can't go wrong with any of the dumplings on the menu, but I do think the Shanghai Shumai was the best! Heard so much about this place and saw so many TikToks, so I knew I had to give it a try. We went on a Friday night, and there was about a 30-minute wait, but it didn't take us that long to get seated. It was pretty busy inside the restaurant, but the servers seemed to be able to keep up with the rush. There also seemed to be a good amount of seating indoors. I was able to try so many different items, but my favorites were definitely the chicken soup dumplings, cucumber salad, and the spicy chicken wontons. Their menu is huge, so I would recommend checking it out before you go so you have an idea of what to get. Everything that we tried was great, so I'm sure the rest of their menu is also very delicious. I think the best way to try the menu is to have it family style so you can order a bunch of different things. Incredible. I've been on a really impressionable kick where if someone says a type of food to me I immediately crave it. We have friends that said they got dim sum, so I was determined to find a great dim sum place near where we were staying. This place is it. We got all sorts dumplings. Everything we tried was amazing. Our favorite one that I am still dreaming about and drooling over are the pork wontons in chili oil. I have zero self control around a good chili oil/crisp, and this dish absolutely delivered. That being said, order whatever speaks to you because I promise it is going to be amazing. The entree came out - literally - 6 minutes after I ordered, big portion. The wontons came out a few minutes after that & holy cow! So we first came here on a Saturday evening. We thought that if we got there around 5pm, the wait wouldn't be too bad. It was over an hour. We came back the next day, Sunday, at 2pm thinking it would be less wait. Wrong! It was still a 46 min wait- but well worth it! We started with the chili oil pork dumplings and they were amazing! Then we had the chicken fried rice and it was the best I've ever had. Hands down! Such a good Smokey flavor. We tried the soup dumpling and it was very good but harder to eat. I think the non-soup ones are my favorites. We also tried a fried beef dumpling and it was also very good. Only minor complaint is they are not good at refilling drinks. You know a place is good when it's busy on a Wednesday night! We walked in thinking it would not be a wait. Boy, were we mistaken! The wait for a party of 6 was 25-30 minutes. Amazing food. I can't recall the last time I had dim sum, but this didn't disappoint. Our table for 3 was filled to the max with plates! Prices are so reasonable you'll want to try several things. My friends said their pork items were amazing and better than the beef items. I got the vegetable dumplings which were perfectly cooked and seasoned, great umami flavor. I wanted to order the peanut noodles but the server talked me out of it. Instead I got the Mei fun vegetarian which is usually my favorite at Chinese restaurants; this one was ok but needed some sort of sauce. As far as wait times go, we went at 730 on a Friday night and waited an hour. There were people crowding the front door and desk area and you could tell the staff was annoyed. They also brought out the sesame balls with red bean paste out early even though we were told they would bring it out at the end. The food was good. Fried rice was well laden. Truffle soup dumpling - surprisingly very good, I typically like to compare any truffle soup dumpling to DTF (IYKYK) and if DTF's truffle dumpling is a 10/10 - theirs is a 8/10. Twice cooked pork - okay so let me tell you, this is one of my favorite Szechuan dishes of all time. There's this place in Southern California I used to go to but it closed many years ago. So I've been on the search for this specific dish anytime I'm at a Chinese restaurant. I've had a lot of different ones and I will have to say that they're twice cooked Pork here is top notch. My family came after hearing a lot of good things about this new xiaolongbao spot. It was busy and we had a 25-minute wait time. The cold appetizer we ordered, Beef Tendons and Tripe, was probably the best dish we got. We got two orders of the soup dumplings: regular pork and black truffle pork. They were good, but pricey which makes sense because there are not really other soup dumpling places in Cincinnati (that I know of!). Unfortunately, that signature Sichuan flavor and spice was missing from many of the dishes. The taste of the Sizzling Japanese Tofu with Dices of Seafood and Bass Fillet Boiled with Hot Chili Oil were honestly exactly the same and there was no distinct flavor, just a very lacking and bland sauce. The assorted Mushrooms Dry Pot was fine, but also just lacking in flavor other than... mushroom. The onions underneath were also not cooked enough (too raw) even after letting them sit in the hot wok for a while. Overall, I'd come here to order soup dumplings if I really had the craving, but maybe not the other dishes. read more
