I took my mom here to celebrate her birthday during lunch on a Friday. She wanted Asian food and a place with a view of the river since she was in town. The location is nice, but definitely its one of those touristy type of spots because of the view of the river. The restaurant was pretty empty for Friday lunch.... Maybe a few patrons here and there but nothing crazy. We ordered a bunch of soup dumplings and their honey walnut shrimp. The soup dumplings were pretty okay, honestly hard to judge only because I am from Southern California and there are a lot of dim. Sum/ dumpling establishments that are so legit. Not too shabby for Cincinnati. Our server was really nice and attentive, she also brought out a nice matcha cheesecake and celebration of my mom's birthday which was really nice. Tacos? Sushi? Dumplings? Crab boils? It just seems an odd combination and one that might not be easily pulled off. That suspicion was unfortunately confirmed. First, it is ridiculously expensive for what you get. The crispy rice and tuna is 4 tiny bites for about $18. The sliced yellowfin jalapeño was about 6 slices at the thickness of tissue paper for around the same price. Both were admittedly delicious, but the price for what you get is way off for us. Perhaps I'm just a cheap heathen that doesn't understand the art of it all, but $36 dollars for a few bites of food isn't it for us. The soup dumplings that they're famous for are not great. Half of them were broken/dried out. The flavors were kind of odd as well. I'm a fiend for dumplings and ended up throwing them out. Identity crisis??? Went in confused and left feeling confused. Is it Enson Harbor or Catch & Cut?? If it's a re-brand, there is no sign of one except a poorly hung banner over the front entrance. The parchment paper, bags, and bibs say Enson Harbor. Either way, this marketing issue is clearly having an effect on business as at 6:30pm on a beautiful Saturday evening there were 5 tables in the place, likely duped as we were! As "Catch & Cut" the menu has many options, in my opinion too many to turnover safely for "fresh" seafood options given the total lack of customers in there. Certainly gave us pause enough to order only fried options (which on par with let's say Dairy Queen, but even that may be an insult to DQ). So meter this review with that in mind. On top of all of this, our server let us know that management was offering staff $10 per good review on Google, and a chance to be entered for a $100 gift! Ah yes, bribery! I've been meaning to try this place but was still salty Joe's Crab Shack is gone. And apparently I'm not the only one, while I went at an unpopular time, there were mayyybeee 3 staff members and less than 10 customers. I feel so bad for the staff. The lo mein was fine with the veggies tasting fresh and the crab rangoons were good, but small and only 4 (and are wrapped in a thin and crispy rice paper, not a deep fried puffy dough, just fyi)- which was fair for the price, I think. The pork dumplings, imo, were bland and maybe undercooked? I could only eat one and looking back, I wish I hadn't finished the one. Can't say I'd go for the ambiance and they're still trying to draw in the Joe's crowd so there's left over stuff from that and weird country music on the radio. Overall a good experience. The oysters, shrimp and crawfish did not disappoint. They were very short-staffed and I think the bartender did everything but cook-she did a great job with what she had. Atmosphere is a bit mixed as it looks like several themes, and maybe because of multiple name changes. I will go back and hope they give this menu a chance. We had cravings for some soup dumplings, so naturally gave Enson Harbor a try! The restaurant itself is spacious with plenty of indoor seating. They have an outdoor patio, which could be nice in the summer. Overall experience was good, however there is a big disparity in food quality depending on what you get. Our server was great -- they explained the menu and gave some recommendations. We opted for the Thai tea drink to start which was delicious and refreshing. On the sweeter side but no complaints here. For food, we started with the chicken wings and fried rice. Unfortunately, both were unappetizing. Both dishes were inundated with fried onion straws, and so the flavors with single noted with way too much salt. On the other hand, the pork soup dumplings were great! Crispy on the bottom and juicy on the inside. It was a bit confusing since these dishes didn't seem like they came from the same kitchen. The difference in quality was remarkable. Made to order dim sum restaurant without the carts. My wife and son have been here before and loved it. A family tradition is to do Dim Sum on New Years Day. We decided to go here instead of Uncle Yips or Grand Oriental in Mason. The restaurant wasn't very crowded. Today was our waitresses 2nd day. It showed. I'm trying to not let it cloud my review. We ordered won ton soups and she typed into her tablet. This was challenging for her. Then she exclaimed we are all out; probably due to our lunch special (it was 1PM) where you could get an egg roll, soup and meal bowl for 9.99. Unusual to be out of a basic item like wonton soup, but we went with the corn chowder. It wasn't bad not as heavy as others that I have had elsewhere. Could have been better, but again I wanted Wonton soup. We asked for water for the table and my wife and I asked for hot tea. My son ordered a Hokkaido Milk Tea (Brown Sugar Crystal Boba with Rainbow Jelly). I typed it from the receipt. He thought it was great. Our waitress kept forgetting to bring the water and the tea came in a miniscule cup with a tea bag. I would have expected to have a tea pot for the table like traditional Chinese restaurants. The Items we ordered were: Sesame Shrimp toast, Fried Shrimp Balls, Pan Fried Pork Buns, Char Siu Bao, Fried Fish Balls and Shrimp & Pork Shumai. Everything cost more that other Dim sum places but you also got a higher quantity on most items. The char siu bao pork buns had a weird liquidy taste. My wife and son love them. I gave it a C. The fish balls were horrible. The Shrimp toast with Sesame was OK. The Shumai was very good. Our items came out in a random order, which was weird given that there was almost more employees than tables filled. My wife wanted a view of the river. It was a nice view but cold. This is the old Joe's Crab Shack restaurant. The ceiling was interesting - made of dim sum baskets. The chairs were uncomfortable steel chairs. The floor was typical of a casual dockside restaurant. Oh well - can't win them all. This is definitely a 3 to 3.5 star for me - 5 star for my wife and son. Also it was disgusting that they didn't clear a dirty table next to us for 45 minutes. The ambiance was pretty nice, but it was in no way Asian. The views are great. I'd come back just to eat outside when the weather is nice. Our server was quite helpful. As she entered our orders into the iPad like ordering device, soups began to arrive while we were still placing our orders. It was surprising, but also seems like a very efficient process. I have to mention there are no descriptions on the menu, which makes it difficult to determine what will be delivered to the table. Case in point, my Wonton Soup, which was unlike any wonton soup I've ever had. It was full of crispy onions, just like French's. The flavor was good, but boy was it odd. The soup included three wontons, which had an odd flavor. It also included two very large green vegetables. They were so large it was nearly impossible to pick them up with the spoon and there was no way to cut them into smaller pieces. I can't recommend the Wonton Soup. Others at the table had Hot and Sour soup and enjoyed it. I ordered Jumbo Shrimp Dumplings, which were delicious. We were a group of five and three meals came out quickly, including my dumplings. Two folks waited and waited for their meals. We had to ask for them. Mark mentioned his meal was not hot and the chicken was dry. Linda agreed. I think their meals had been missed and sat too long. I was the only one that go dessert and I opted for the Purple Yam Wu Lou. I was pleased when two pieces arrived. I could have shared, but opted against it because they were quite yummy. I really hate to post this because this was one of my favorite places to go for a night out. But Friday night was lackluster. They have changed a lot of things on the menu and replaced them wish sushi rolls/sashimi. I love both of these things but I can go anywhere for them. I came here for the dim sum and soup dumplings and the different appetizers they offered. The soup dumplings seemed like they had been sitting for a long time. No broth what so ever. The waitress had them remade and they were a lot better, but this is the second time visiting I have had to send them back. The boil was delicious like always. Last night 6 days before the 14th was sent a message that the name changed to catch and cut and canceled my reservation. Said to re-schedule with OpenTable for catch and cut. Overall disappointing experience. Came back for girls night because we loved it so much the first time. All 3 of my friends and I were not satisfied with our food or service. To start, the soup dumplings were not very soupy at all? The crab rangoon looked like something you'd pull out of your freezer at home. I ordered the general tso chicken paid extra for fried rice. I have a previous review of this dish and it was very good and the color of the sauce is completely different now (see photos). The "fried rice" was white rice with some tasteless dark sauce on it. that's it. not even fried and no veg or egg? My friend and I were incredibly confused and it did not taste good. Lastly, our server was kind but he only gave us 3/4 waters asked for and took an incredibly long time to log our orders and messed up our checks. I had heard that Enson Harbor had changed concepts and was now serving boba and dim sum, so I wanted to try it. We go in, and the ambiance is so strange. It looks like they kept the "harbor" and seafood vibe of the original concept, but then added a bunch of stuffed animal pandas everywhere. I am not exaggerating. We had a fun time playing I Spy with all the pandas. Honestly, the food was ok. I liked the crab ragoons but wish they came with a chili sauce. The bao buns were good, but I didn't like all the veggies in it. The chicken dumplings were ok. However, the pan fried pork buns were incredible. I loved them so much and I will absolutely go back just for those. They had a lot of other things on the menu, including the boba, that I did not get a chance to try and hope to soon. Attended the soft opening of Enson Harbor. Hoping this place stays open with the new launch!! We sat outside on a Saturday with no issue, service was good our server Amy was great! You can tell they are just opening fixing all the kinks they were still installing furniture. Ordered crab rangoon and veg spring rolls to start and the crab rangoons.. let me say the rangoons are very different from any other place. They are very light and not greasy, while still getting that rangoon taste! We sat outside with some of the best views of the city in couch type lounging seats very comfy. We also got Leek and shrimp dumplings that came with a sauce and comes with a sauce that went so well together. we also got shrimp Lo Mein and scallion pancake (do not skip the pancake it's so crispy and delicious). The only thing i'd skip out on is the boba! they don't make tapioca in house and only offer brown sugar type. Would rate it 5/5! read more

Our server, Zymere, was outstanding. He is an amazing human being with an infectious joy. We agreed we would return to EH based on him alone. On to the food. To be fair, my SIL is Chinese and an excellent cook. And I have eaten at some stellar Chinese restaurants in CA. Plus I have eaten my way through Thailand. Having said all of that, for appetizers we had scallion pancakes and crab rangoon. My SIL's pancakes put these to shame. They were ok for me, good for my dining companion. The crab rangoon were tasty and I appreciated that they were not deep fried. We tried the sampler platter of chicken dumplings. The black truffle and regular dumplings were spectacular. Was not a fan of the crab chicken combo. My companion had the chicken tan tan. The chicken was too spicy for her, but she loved the rest of it. I had the red curry with wonton. A-MA-zing! We had dessert to go - sesame balls with red bean curd filling. My G&T was perfect. Should be a 5 star review except for my previous taste experience. Nice venue. EDIT: Had to add a note. This is a very cute spot in NKY with amazing view of the river and Cincy downtown. The panda decor is very tastefully done! We found this place looking for boba tea after 9 pm. The boba drink menu is very limited but the drinks we ordered were pretty good. We also got some vegetable dumplings to try and they tasted fantastic! I got the fish and chips, the batter on the fish was light and seasoned great, fried to perfection and my husband got the chicken parmesan sandwich marinara sauce was so tasty! Both were delicious! Gua Bao Pork Belly was something we were told is a popular item but none of us would order it again. As you can see with the photos, we ordered a lot! The bill was pricey but after tasting all the items I'm not sure if I would be running to come back but the sitting on the water was worth it! The food and service are okay. Not excellent but not bad. What got me to give 3 stars is the price and amount of food - smaller than a kid's meal. This Cha chiang Mein you see in the picture was $9 which I initially thought was very cheap. However, the food literally came out on a side dish bowl. Yes. What you see in the photo is what you'll get as one of their "main menus". If this business wants to thrive, it'll have to raise the price AND double the amount of food that they give out. Just opened today! Saw the balloons and here I am. In the former home of Joe's Crab Shack now a seafood restaurant. I am so dang excited as I've had watched the transition since moving to the hood. Its right on the river er with killer views. Employees are friendly and helpful, even on opening day. No stress here. Lots of great looking things on the menu, some with a Nola flair. Gumbo etc. Seafood boils too. I opted for fried rice in a pineapple. Oh so good and plentiful. And I'm sitting at the bar watching the Bengals hopefully win in the second round of their playoffs. We sat on the patio that overlooks the Ohio River. Our waitress was attentive, and the food came out fast. The place is large but not busy. My husband got the choose 2 seafood broil with potatoes and corn. He raved about it. I got the shrimp dumplings to share. I also ordered the Kung pao chicken with rice. I have had better Kung pao, but the sauce level was good. The dumplings are a must. For dessert, there are only a couple of choices, but our waitress suggested the salty egg york bun. It is kinda like a chocolate cake bun with a yolk custard in the center. It was good, not overly sweet, but could have had more custard in the center. We went on a Monday evening and were greeted with a friendly welcome and hello as we entered the restaurant. Our server Sarah was quick to our table to take a drink order and answer dietary questions about one of the menu items. We ordered 6 items to share. We ordered 2 of the soups, the Wonton Soup and the Hot & Sour Soup, the Crab Rangoon, Pan Fried Pork Buns, Szechuan Style Wontons and the Beef Siumai. When we ordered, our server notified us that our food would come out as it was ready. We appreciated this, because when we received our food, the temperature was great. Being a Monday, the restaurant was not that busy, I assume the process of receiving the food as it is ready could look different on a busy evening. The soups came out almost immediately, and we had all of our food within 15-20 minutes. All of our selections were really good, with the Crab Rangoon and Pan Fried Pork Buns ranking as our favorite. The Beef Siumai was tasty, but was probably our least favorite item we had. First time visiting and wont be the last! The food was amazing, both my wife and I enjoyed everything we ordered. We where lucky enough to be sited close to a small window where you could see a bit of the kitchen and got a glimpse of how they made the dumplings by hand, it was just a piece of art. Everything felt fresh and light, the ratios where perfect, and well seasoned. You could eat them with or without the sauces. The one thing that made me not give them a 5 stars review was the service, I am not going to mention the name of the waitress to avoid issues since it was noticeable that she was new but it was evident that no training was provided to her. Being the first time on a Dim Sum restaurant we had questions and I don't want to exaggerate but out of 5 question 0 where answer, we literally had to search on our phones descriptions 'with the waitress on the side of our table' to figure out what some of the dishes where. She couldn't explain one dish to us, didn't know anything about sake neither, we asked for a warm sake, she placed the order and then came back letting us know they don't have any warm sake on the menu. I just went to the bar and asked the bartender which suggested one and it was amazing, didn't miss the warm sake at all. Side note: The bartender let me know that they opened around 3 weeks ago, so it understandable that some things need to improve but I would sit each waiter/waitress one night and just let them taste their dishes so that they have an idea of what they are serving the customer. BUT! Even though she was extremely lost, the food exceeded expectations hence we are definitely coming back and I would still recommended it a 100%. This is the real dim sum I have been hoping for in Cincinnati. I keep thinking Enson Harbor is a dream. The Bok Choy with garlic sauce is superb. This is the best I have ever had, including Hong Kong, San Francisco, and NYC. These are delicate baby bok choy, cooked precisely and perfectly, with very finely diced and perfectly cooked garlic. I had to order it twice to be sure it wasn't a fluke. The steamed dim sum are top notch, especially the Shrimp with Watercress, Jumbo Shrimp (traditional ha gao), Shrimp with Leek, and Shrimp with Snow Pea Leaf. The Pork Soup Dumplings are properly served with finely diced ginger and a vinegar sauce. Of course, the soup dumpling spoon is provided. I am not a huge fan of fried food, but the Fried Shrimp Balls are just delicious. I love them with hot chili oil and vinegar. My companions loved the sweet and sour sauce. If you are not completely stuffed after a dumpling binge, the noodle dishes and some of the traditional mains are also excellent. Here's what really crazy: you can eat at outdoor tables that are riverside with beautiful unobstructed views. There is also very pleasant indoor dining with views out the large plate glass windows. This place is ultra casual. Seriously, the food would be completely at home in the most formal of traditional Chinese fine dining rooms, and there it is, on the banks of the Ohio River where you can wear a T-shirt and jeans. This is such a great experience. It's become a 2-3x monthly experience for me - don't miss this! read more

This was unfortunately a huge let down for me and my friends. The food is alright, but it was lacking a lot of flavor. The best thing we got was the soup dumplings sampler--the black truffle and pork was actually quite good. Other than that, most of the food was bland and the portion sizes were way too small. We had to call the waiter over about three times to order enough food for all of us. I also had a mix up with the waiter where I ordered a green tea, expecting a hot green tea on a cold night, and she informed me she wasn't sure if they sold that but she would check. She came back later with one of their specialty iced teas without any added flavor. I understood the confusion and drank the tea without saying anything (my bad for not speaking up). However, I was so disappointed to see I had been charged for a specialty tea even though I didn't get a special flavor. This might not have been such a let down if not for the fact that the one tea is about as expensive as two whole boxes of tea. I definitely acknowledge my part in the situation, but I think it would be helpful for the restaurant to establish a lower price for plain tea in the future. Our server was stellar, this is not a reflection upon him. However, another server was walking around in booty shorts and bubble slides... WILD. Lmao. The food however, was so bad we didn't bother ordering past our one appetizer. The menus were dirty and sticky... sign #1. My family and I had some issues making our reservation at Moerlein recently, so we had to pivot on the playcall REAL fast. There is nothing worse than dealing with a hangry Stephanie. My mother mentioned Enson Harbor because of Chowdown Cincinnati, and we went in. In true tiktok form, "We're Asian Americans, OF COURSE we'll choose dim sum if that's an option!" Walking into the ghosts of Joe Crab Shack's past was a doozy. The building is spacious, but the seating is set up asymmetrically so there's random pockets of space on the dining floor. There were three servers for the entire restaurant - I am absolutely sure that it is hard to staff in general, and especially at a newer restaurant, but it's hard to enjoy your meal when you have three people running around with their heads cut off. The menu is large, and honestly, a little all over the place (like those servers!). They have the traditional dim sum section, "fried" dim sum (which I mean technically holds true, but I'd just call them apps), noodles and rice, and a random seafood boil section. We ordered a plethora of dumplings, as well as the sautéed pork, cha chiang meon, & fried rice. Everything came out as they were made, which was fine. It's actually something a lot of restaurants do these days and it doesn't bother me. What did bother me was how one dimensional the dumplings were. Between the Szechuan, black truffle, crab meat, etc., none of the dumplings were top tier. They weren't frozen from jungle Jim's variety, but they weren't outstanding either. The rest of our items followed the same suit. Was everything made by hand? Yes. Was everything made with love? No, it was all made with obligation. Combine that with the chaotic marathon the servers were half completing, it wasn't the most enjoyable dining experience. Would I come back here? That's a tough question. I want every local restaurant to succeed to the fullest extent - but there was nothing that screams that I need to be back, especially when there are other dim sum restaurants for me to try in the city.
