I am leaving 5 stars solely because Ken Robe is my maintenance warrior. I have been having trouble with my AC unit more than once and he has truly stayed and wrestled with the issue until it was fixed. Repeating what others say on the review page, maintenance is really nice. Polite, fast, competent. Management is not. They play favorites and seemingly only respond to complaints by sending out apartment wide emails saying "um please stop" and no actual action follows. If music vibrates your apartment and they say they can't do anything about it, even when it occurs during "quiet hours" like 1am. Know that when you move in, "quiet hours" is a joke. And while I'm not personally bothered by smokers, they send out emails about not smoking in the common area every few months while I watch people totally ignore those emails and get high and drunk and scream all night, usually on Tuesdays for some reason. But what management WILL do is call the cops on a tenant in a wheel chair while she's having a mental health crisis (don't worry, cops left and then actual mental health services appeared a few hours later, she's safe back home and seemingly medicated now, but it was hell to witness). Outside of management's control but still not great; walls are paper thin, you will hear every sneeze your neighbor sneezes. As you can imagine, this makes the music situation even worse. Apartment was clearly renovated when I moved in and yet cracks in foundation and holes in walls let bugs pour in during the summer months. Everything from ants to big ass wasps. I know they're not getting in from the door because I work from home and hadn't been outside in 2 weeks. The grated area surrounding the air conditioning units in the walls are only barely insulated with foam, I had to board mine with cardboard over winter because cold air pours in from the vent and from the front door, which won't sit flush against its frame. Additionally, indoor doors do not fit properly in their frames either, and in my specific unit the bedroom door will not latch closed AT ALL because of this, so it just sits open all the time. Dishwasher also keeps flooding and I'm not sure why because it's clearly a brand new model. Maintenance fixed it for me a few months ago and now its flooding again. I've used it maybe once since it was fixed the first time as I tend to do my dishes in the sink since I have so few of them. Now I can't use it even if I want to because what do I do if it floods again? What if it had happened when I wasn't home? I would only suggest living here if you are used to noise and/or you don't spend any time at home. My area allows dogs so if your neighbors aren't always home you will be listening to a lot of barking at all hours. Again, quiet hours are a JOKE here. read more

I submitted a work order this morning for a clogged bathroom sink must. Within a couple of hours, I received a phone call from Mark the maintenance man telling me he could come and fix my sink within an hour or so. The estimated wait time passed and there was a knock on my door. I answered and it was Mark. He got to work on the sink snaking the plumbing with something, then he poured some great stuff down the drain and there was a sound coming out of it. He said that was that stuff unclogging my drain. Then he ran water down the drain, and it was as good as new! Besides being really capable, he is very personable and a nice man. Thank you Mark and Cornerstone. read more

Ezequiel was absolutely amazing. Truly the best maintenance man I have ever had! I've had four different people come out to fix my toilet, Ezequiel gave it one look and knew exactly how to fix it. He asked if I was having any other issues, I told him my closet light had disconnected wires and was hanging from the ceiling, and he fixed it effortlessly!! He was in and out in less than 30 minutes! I can't believe it!! read more

The water was shut off without notice. When I emailed about it because I had not received communication about this happening. I was sent a screenshot of an email with the date, time, and who it was addressed to cut off. This is not the first time they have either sent an email not within the 24 hour notice or stated that they emailed about maintenance or entering my unit and I have not gotten anything on my end. I have also come home multiple times to one of their maintenance cars in my parking space that I pay for monthly. Since I do live in Denver street parking is not the best which is why I rent a parking space to be open for when I come home. read more

Renter beware !! Listen to all of the negative reviews about cornerstone and the way they treat their properties and tenants. I moved into the Dwell apartments almost a month ago .. except I couldn't actually move in because the prior tenent moved out on July 12th and I received my keys the morning of the 13th - they did NO MAINTENENCE NO CLEANING NOTHING !!!!! The entire unit smelled like cat piss and cigarettes and it was disgusting !!! See the lovely photos of that good old cornerstone quality. Over the three weeks that I could not move into my unit but of courseee had paid for - they sent cleaners 3 times !!! And they have got to be the worst cleaning crew ever because nothing ever got cleaned ! 3 weeks went by - the unit sat empty - and I had to continue living in my old apartment waiting for them to do anything !! Finally at the last minute as I had to leave my old apartment I decided to just go clean and do the maintence on the unit myself (apparently I am a cleaner and a handyman for an apartment I pay almost $2000 a month for) and what do I find .. roach poop of course ! I went down to the office to speak to management as my property manager Tyler was extremely unhelpful - and of course I'm told by Tyler's manager that their "so sorry " and that they will "get me compensated for the trouble" which gee thanks since I paid 3 weeks of rent for an empty apartment I couldn't live in .. and you'll never believe this but I never heard back from that manager again ! I will never live at another cornerstone apartment again and you definitely should save yourself and avoid them too !! Also .. the positive reviews are so clearly fake do yourself a favor and just look on Reddit .. they can't pay people to be nice there ! Edit: going to go ahead and update my review since cornerstone gave the most pitiful reply in the world. Here's a photo of a roach in my kitchen from this week that apparently doesn't exist. They did send someone to spray once - he was supposed to return and check for dead bugs and spray again in 10 days .. once again never heard from that man again !! Emailed my property manager Tyler .. and bingo never heard from him again !! As I already mentioned the cleaners are useless - they aren't "professional cleaners" it's just a family - and I know it's the same family they sent all three times thanks to Tyler's email- but that's a cute lie they just put there - and I love to clock lies !!!! - I even was present the last time they came just to see what exactly they were doing. They walked around like sims characters - the woman wiped the same cabinet face 3 times .. which is funny because I had already scrubbed the cabinets with bleach they weren't dirty. The son sat there and charged his phone - and the man swept the doorway - and then went and swept the hallway ???? I don't care about the hallway - I care about the fact my unit was FILTHY !!! Luckily I have all the texts - photos- timestamps - emails - call logs - since cornerstone doesn't know how to take accountability OHHH and the "concession" they gave me .. which by the way was from Tyler not his manager a week before I even met his manager BTW who I still have never heard from again ... $100 OFF MY RENT !!!!!! For the $1200 IN PRO-RATED RENT FOR MY EMPTY UNIT WOWWWWWWW THANK GOD YOU GUYS REALLY BROKE YOUR BANK you money hungry slumlords !! Also side note the leasing agent also gave me the prior tenants information on accident with my keys I noticed this week .. that's how unorganized they are - but I sure am curious to know if they took this man's deposit for a unit they did zero maintenance on in the 24hr turnaround between him moving out and me moving in .. hmmm Word to their future tenents who don't listen to negative reviews - don't let your property manager bully you - they will act like your crazy for wanting livable conditions that you pay for. read more

I never leave bad reviews, but I cannot believe the customer service of this place. My partner and I lost our jobs, so we could not afford rent and therefore had to break our lease which costed us 2700. As we were waiting to receive what we were expecting as a $800 security deposit return, we only got back 300. When I reached out to James Piderit, and voiced my concerns asking if they could review it again, because we had it fully deep cleaned, he said no problem and I'll reach out to you tomorrow. Well it's four months later, I've reached out four times because we so desperately needed that money, and I've been ghosted every time. As I just called their office to speak to someone about it, and she transfers me to James' line, which of course just goes to voicemail. As I call back, I'm sent to voicemail. I've been in customer service for 15 years, and I am shocked on how this has been handled, or sorry, not handled at all. If you're scared to speak to someone about financial concerns, don't be in customer service. So no, I don't recommend. They might help you with skipping a credit check, but that's as helpful as this company gets. read more

Wow, their team just aquire this property. Cool. And then they kick everyone out. Understandable, but how they treat the former tenants is unimaginable. No trash pick up for weeks, no call backs, etc. I'm thinking, how crappy. So now how to reach out to DORA, CCRD and hud to get anything done. So frustrating. Never will I lease from this company. Displaced people of color and gave no help to relocate the residents they kick out. ***Renter beware*** Condescending management who blame aggressively barking dogs on "apartment living" instead of dealing with the issue. Welcome to the dog pound. Leasing agents refuse to do any due diligence and rent units to bad owners & to untrained dogs. If you don't want to live in glorified dog pound then don't live here, especially their building on 9th and Downing. Dogs are barking 24/7 and you will be woken up on the middle of the night. You'll share the washer/ dryer with dog beds and blankets. Owners are even allowed to groom their dogs in the hallway. So if you're am inconsiderate dog owner, this company is for you. Management is notorious for ignoring or putting off complaints. In the 2 years here the front and back doors have been broken. At least a dozen requests have been made and nothing's been fixed. This week we had homeless people in the building because the main doors can't close i properly. Or the doors take forever to open. Packages are stolen regularly. Parking is a mess. They won't put in parking spots so tenants park poorly and there have been times where I couldn't find a spot which is frustrating when you pay $75/ month. Strangers are allowed to park in our spot for up to a week before they're towed. It literally defeats the purpose of having private parking. Additionally, I didn't have heat for the 5 coldest days of the year. Again, management was condescending and told me that my heat was working. If your thermostat is at 50 degrees and you can see your breath then your heat is not working. If you like quiet and work from home, DO NOT LIVE HERE. read more
